Can't Find Saved Game Folder
Jan 28, 2010
I am running Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit. I have recently started playing Governor of Poker, (the full version). However, although my game saves while the PC is on, as soon as I switch off the saved game is lost, (very annoying if you have completed 3 or 4 levels and have to start again). The other problem is that I can't find the saved game folder. It is not in the usual places ie appdata or programdata on the C drive.

When I install a game in Windows 7 and Windows recognizes it it dumps the game's shortcut in the Game folder of the Start Menu. That wouldn't be a problem except Windows 7 prevents the game from creating the shortcuts it would have created had the operating system not been Windows 7- things like the game's Read Me, Uninstaller & Configuration options.

the Start menu and explorer search bars will only return recently saved or modified files, dating back perhaps a month.
I've looked at the settings and they are default. Using the option to not use indexing makes no difference.
I've tried this hotfix Windows search is not working and search is slow or shuts down without success.

i used to download subtitles from a website which saves it in .aspx file (looking like zipped folder file) and after extracting it used to work fine. But yesterday, when i saved a file it got saved in .dat file. Thinking it will open in notepad (since .srt opens with notepad) i made it to 'OPEN WITH' notepad. But i was not able to view/use the file. Now when iam trying to download anyother sub from the same website it gets saved in notepad and will be of no use.Do i need to install anything so that i can use the file? How do i make it so that the file gets saved in a zipped looking folder and i can use the subs.

I try to download a program (for instance u torrent) I dont ever get a dialog box with the run option in it. Instead I get a bar on the bottom of the screen that gives the options of "open", "save", or "cancel". When I click "open" nothing happens. When I click "save" a file is saved in my download folder by the name of "utorrent_exe" with no extention. When I try to run it I get a message that asks what program I want to run it with. Oh yeah, by the way, I am running Windows 7 Premium Home Edition.

I'm on a brand new HP computer running Windows 7 and everytime I download a file from the internet or even save files from local programs to my desktop, they are saved as some sort of hidden file...or at least they behave similar to hidden files. The difference is if I open up an Explorer window and browse to my desktop, I can see them there that way, but there is no icon on my desktop for the file. I CAN see the the saved file on my desktop if I turn "view hidden files" on...but when I look at the properties of said files, they are not actually marked "hidden." I can even copy/paste that same file in my desktop and I will see the copied file show up visually on the desktop, but still not the original file unless I browse to the desktop in an Explorer window. When right clicking the desktop, "Show desktop icons" is turned on and I can view all of my other desktop file icons, shortcuts, etc.

Is it at all possible to hide the Downloads, Links, Favorites, Searches, Videos, Saved Games, and Contacts folders (just the folder, not contents)? I've tried just hiding it like any other folder but it won't work.AND if possible, have explorer open in my home folder instead of libraries.
PS: I tried disabling libraries entirely, but it opens to My Documents instead of my home folder.

1.I had created a locker on my desktop using "Folder Lock" software.
2.Subsequently I made the locker invisible using "Folder Protect" software.
3.When I was trying to add more files to the locker created in 1 the locker tried to "increase it's size on the run"...
4.This process failed and "Folder Lock" shut down and since then I cannot locate the locker anymore on my PC nor can I see it in "Folder Protect"
5.Having read on a forum, I uninstalled "Folder Protect" and reinstalled...but that did not help..I still could not find the Locker.
6.I even uninstalled and reinstalled "Folder Lock"...even this did not help
7.I understand the lockers created by "Folder Lock" are UNDELETABLE.
8.Clearly my locker is somewhere on my hard disk but I am unable to locate it.

I recently saved a PSD file that I had received in Outlook. When I opened it in Photoshop the folder it came from contained all kinds of photos including some I don't want to keep. I wrote down the name of the folder and figured I could search for it and come back to it later.I have searched all over my computer and this folder doesnt exist!! I wrote it down so I know it's there. I checked ALL of the options to show folders, directories, even system files. No matter how many times I search it just isnt there. This folder has letters and numbers so I know it's not a folder I created. Im guessing it's a folder if images I've received in Outlook maybe? I have just moved to a new computer with Win 7 64. A relative has given me a CD that is supposed to have some family history data on it. It was created in DOS, but has been updated and tested in XP. I cannot get the program on the disk(Family Tree Maker) to run in 7, so I installed the XP mode. The program will run, but it does not find the data. Thinking that this might be because the program is set up to only access a limited set of drives (a:, c:, and d, I copied all the CD to my C drive no luck. Using Win XP Explorer I cannot find the data either. My conclusion is that some how the data did not get copied, but before bothering my cousin again, I want to exhaust all other alternatives.

My fingers were sticky and I accidentally moved a folder, however, I don't know where I put it.
I was looking @ a tree-view of my drives so I could have dragged the folder just about anywhere, however, I'm pretty sure--not certain, but highly confident--thatI dropped in @ a location that is contained in one of my libraries, that's the good news.
Now for the bad news: The name of the folder is rather common and I suspect that I have a couple of hundred folders with this name.
I admit it--I don't really understand Windows Search--it never seems to give me what I want, much less what I expect.
I'm hoping that with the vast number of Date related fields in the Choose Details window (Date accessed, Date acquired, Date archived, Date completed, Date created, ...) one of them will be updated whenever a folder is moved from location A to location B--but, you know what they say about "hope."
Bottom Line--here's my request-- How do I search for a folder with a name of, say, "XYZ"? Is there any way I can make my search CaSe SpecIfic?
