2.Subsequently I made the locker invisible using "Folder Protect" software.
3.When I was trying to add more files to the locker created in 1 the locker tried to "increase it's size on the run"...
4.This process failed and "Folder Lock" shut down and since then I cannot locate the locker anymore on my PC nor can I see it in "Folder Protect"
5.Having read on a forum, I uninstalled "Folder Protect" and reinstalled...but that did not help..I still could not find the Locker.
6.I even uninstalled and reinstalled "Folder Lock"...even this did not help
7.I understand the lockers created by "Folder Lock" are UNDELETABLE.
8.Clearly my locker is somewhere on my hard disk but I am unable to locate it.
Until W7 I have been able to edit the choices in "Send to:", the handy utility for file copying to various locations. I cannot find that folder in W7.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy fingers were sticky and I accidentally moved a folder, however, I don't know where I put it.
I was looking @ a tree-view of my drives so I could have dragged the folder just about anywhere, however, I'm pretty sure--not certain, but highly confident--thatI dropped in @ a location that is contained in one of my libraries, that's the good news.
Now for the bad news: The name of the folder is rather common and I suspect that I have a couple of hundred folders with this name.
I admit it--I don't really understand Windows Search--it never seems to give me what I want, much less what I expect.
I'm hoping that with the vast number of Date related fields in the Choose Details window (Date accessed, Date acquired, Date archived, Date completed, Date created, ...) one of them will be updated whenever a folder is moved from location A to location B--but, you know what they say about "hope."
Bottom Line--here's my request-- How do I search for a folder with a name of, say, "XYZ"? Is there any way I can make my search CaSe SpecIfic?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just moved to a new computer with Win 7 64. A relative has given me a CD that is supposed to have some family history data on it. It was created in DOS, but has been updated and tested in XP. I cannot get the program on the disk(Family Tree Maker) to run in 7, so I installed the XP mode. The program will run, but it does not find the data. Thinking that this might be because the program is set up to only access a limited set of drives (a:, c:, and d, I copied all the CD to my C drive no luck. Using Win XP Explorer I cannot find the data either. My conclusion is that some how the data did not get copied, but before bothering my cousin again, I want to exhaust all other alternatives.

I am running Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit. I have recently started playing Governor of Poker, (the full version). However, although my game saves while the PC is on, as soon as I switch off the saved game is lost, (very annoying if you have completed 3 or 4 levels and have to start again). The other problem is that I can't find the saved game folder. It is not in the usual places ie appdata or programdata on the C drive.

I recently sent my laptop to HP for a fan repair and before I sent it off I accidentally deleted my Downloads folder and then cleared out my recycling bin.Well, I got my laptop back today and went to download a few files. After doing so, I realized that I can't find those downloaded files. I have no idea where those files went. They were .rar and ZIP files and I can't seem to locate them. Does anybody know how I can find those downloaded files (where they might have ended up with the Downloads folder gone) and how I can restore my Downloads folder

When i select a photo for the wallpaper it stretches it out even if the photo is a potrait one, which means it cuts off heads of people and so on. I have tried going into control panel> appearance and personalisation> personalisation> desktop background> and tried to change the picture position to fit or centre or anything other then stretch but it wont change anything, the wallpaper stays the same. Anyone have any ideas? i have a feeling it may be a problem with windows or something. View 1 Replies View RelatedSeveral months ago... I got a virus or malware that messed up my computer... only STOPzilla fixed it... .and now I cannot change my background wallpaper.
Since I am a huge NASCAR fan... I must have my drivers current car... not last years....
Today I tried to change it again... and now all I can change is the background colors.... no themes work and I cannot set as background an image.... it says access denied..
I CANNOT choose my own wallpaper. I've research what the problem and I've come up with different solutions, but none of these seems to work such as, deleting the Transcoded Wallpaper.jpg.To put it simple my wallpaper is black or a solid color and even if hit "save changes" in the personalize menu in Windows 7, it still won't change. I see the icons, everything is working fine, its just that my wallpaper can't be change and you only could change to a solid color. This issue started when a relative of mine installed iMesh into the computer, I removed it completely and since then the black solid wallpaper has been on my desktop.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI dont remember reading this, so i'll share my experience. The starter version has a nasty 'feature' of not featuring an option to change your background image. Many people have tried and the only reliable ways to do this turned out to be 'drawing' one on top of the other using 3rd party software, or to patch system files. Now i wasnt really happy about those options, becouse I run windows 7 starter with only 1 G ram (at the time there was crapware running in backgroud, had a look into that so now I CAN miss it). However I was so stupid to replace the img0.jpg file in the windows web subfolder to try something less ram expensive. Yes, now I now, I should have searched about it and read for my self this was not an option becouse part of the image was hardcoded... well I was stuck with a black background and no way to change it back.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy new laptop is only 5 weeks old. It is Windows 7 64 bits. Since yesterday, my desktop does not display Windows 7 logo nor HP logo. Instead, the desktop is white color covering my blue wallpaper and has huge black letters message saying: "Stop! You may have to clean up your computer with our program because it may be clogged up. "The service trays lower left and lower right both display the few icons correctly (volume, Skype, Weather, Internet Explorer 9 etc.) When I click on these icons they work. They work. How do I gat rid of this annoying message and get back my blue wallpaper and desktop with Windows logo& and HP logo? There is nothing to click on to delete the message. My Norton and Microsoft Essentials both ran a long scan and both tell me I have no virus.
