My hand got bumped as I was getting ready to save a file in one of my folders, and the whole folder has just disappeared. It isn't in my recycle bin. Where might I find this?

View 5 Replies View Related1.I had created a locker on my desktop using "Folder Lock" software.
2.Subsequently I made the locker invisible using "Folder Protect" software.
3.When I was trying to add more files to the locker created in 1 the locker tried to "increase it's size on the run"...
4.This process failed and "Folder Lock" shut down and since then I cannot locate the locker anymore on my PC nor can I see it in "Folder Protect"
5.Having read on a forum, I uninstalled "Folder Protect" and reinstalled...but that did not help..I still could not find the Locker.
6.I even uninstalled and reinstalled "Folder Lock"...even this did not help
7.I understand the lockers created by "Folder Lock" are UNDELETABLE.
8.Clearly my locker is somewhere on my hard disk but I am unable to locate it.
I ran a couple of memory diagnostics last night (Memtest86 & Windows), but the Windows test said that it would display the results after logging in...it didn't...at least nowhere that I can find. I assume that it should have created a log file...where would I find it?

When I try to delete them, an error appears stating that the folder contains names that are too long for the recycle bin. The next screen states that the source file name(s) are too long than is supported by the file system.

When I try to open it it says '(location) is not accessible. Access is denied'. When I try delete it, it says 'You need permission to perform this action. You require permission from the computer's administrator to make changed to this folder' (yet, I am the administrator - the only account on the computer).

After installing McAfee, the Windows password was not recognized, and all I could do was reinstall Windows and I did this without assigning a password. I could not solve the problem in Safe Mode. I see a folder called c:Windows.old, and the properties show it takes 15 gigabytes. I did add a new asus mother board, a quad core processor 3.27, doubled the Ram, and put in a blue ray burner.After the upgrade was completed I waited for almost a week to make sure all was working well and then set out to delete the windows. old file. As you probably already know, Windows 7 detects previous Windows installations and puts it into a folder called "Windows.old". After my new installation was done, this Windows.old folder was pretty big, around 25 gigabytes. From some searching I did, I found out about using Disk Cleanup, and you put a checkmark in the box for Previous Windows installations, and then let the program run its course.
