Jun 6, 2009I cant get any picture when installing aver media software.
The sound is fine but just shows a grey screen.
Any sugestions would be great.

Dec 30, 2009My problem is that i have a Chaintech 9PJL1 motherboard with the C-Media CMI8738 audio chip (checked it with Everest). I just changed my OS from Windows XP SP3 to Windows 7. I can't get any sound out of it anymore. It worked perfectly fine with the Windows XP.
I tried to download the latest audio drivers for the CMI8738 audio chip from this site:

Nothing worked.
I even tryed to download the XP drivers and run it in XP compatible mode (both SP2 and SP3) but it gives me the same error over and over again "Please plug-in the c-media audio device device". I also tryed to update the drivers under device manager and with windows update.
ATI Driver Crashing In Media Center
Feb 8, 2009I have Asus 4550 video card The drivers are crashing in MCE very frequently ( Black screen and then BSOD and instant reboot so I can't even read the error) I tried driver that was optional in Windows 7 update, Catalyst 8.12, 9.1 and Windows 7 beta - they all behave the same way .
Any ideas ?

My Device Manager does not show any drivers as missing but I get a very low graphics score on the Windows Index Experience; it is 2.0.
I think that this may have something to do with the "Media Graphics Accelerator Driver" which will not install ("OS not supported" when using setup). I tried the install for Vista (No.7) from this page:- Download Search Results!
I've read posts here and elsewhere that describe migrating drivers with a driver backup util from Vista and pulling them into Windows 7 via Device Manager but I don't have a Vista installation to be able to do that.
I'd like to have a WIE of 3 or more in order to run Aero but my WIE figures are 3.2/4.6/2.0 (graphics)/3.0/5.9. and I can't see that low base-rate of 2.0 disappearing unless I can install the Graphics Media Accelerator (Intel replied to my query with the standard "not our policy to support future technology etc. etc". (ha ha! nice one Intel)).

Oct 15, 2009every time i run windows i get two drivers with a yellow exclamination mark beside it.
Conexant does not help you at all on their website, and HP does not help at all because i have windows 7 not their 5 year old windows MCE
The two drivers i need are
Conexant 2388x MPEG Encoder (Dual-Input)
Conexant 23800 Video Capture (Blackbird NTSC Dual-Input)
each time i try to uninstall and reinstall them i get an error.
the software for this device has been blocked from starting because it is known to have problems with Windows. Contact the Hardware vendor for a new driver (Code 48)
This is weird because it worked fine on windows xp, but not windows 7 no drivers for it??? and if not how would i request them to get that driver?
Realtek HD Driver - Static With Media Center
Feb 16, 2009I am about give up. I have read every website and tried many idea but nothing can fix this.
Using media center I get a very loud static. I have fixed it many times but then it comes back. I have reloaded the system and used only defaults and it works for awhile but then it comes back.
I have tried both the windows drivers and Reltek Vista driver. Every other sound works great (CD, MP3, DVD and Pandora). I use this system mostly for recording off DIRECTV.
I have tried change many setting as other treads have suggested.

Dec 2, 2011It boots fine from usb fine and starts the setup however when she goes to install it asks "insert the media device and select the driver windows 7". Ive looked around the forums and google and found that this can be a usb 2.0 , 3.0 problem with people just switching to the 2.0 slot and it working. However this does not work for her and so I looked around more and found it might be needing the drivers for the USB ports had her insert the disc that came with the motherboard however non of the setups in the usb folder work and im not sure which specific file she needs to choose to get the driver to install or 100 % if that is even the issue. Any ideas? Intel� Desktop Board DZ68DB - Overview this is the board Forgot to mention this hard drive is from her older computer so its a new motherboard / cpu / ram.

The media center worked fine then. It was loading my ffdshow and ac3filter along as I checked it.But then yesterday I noticed that the same pop-up od recommended/express install of WMP came again. Initially I thought that it must be some bug or something, but then when my MKV and AVI files didn't work in WMC, I realized that somehow WMP x64 got triggered, and now it is using the x64 bit of WMP in WMC. And I just wanna revert back to 32-bit WMP in WMC.

So I found drivers for my mobo Asus M5A97, I select them and then after I click next this message appears: "No new devices could be found. Make sure the driver files are correct and located on the driver installation media".

Dec 20, 2009I can't get eithe WMP or MC to play a DVD. I've set the region code. WMP acts like it will play, but then just goes blank, and MC says it cannot play the DVD. These are original discs, not burned copies. I have a custom built system, with 2 graphics cards (GTX 260 and a GT 220) 6 GB of RAM, and an i7 processor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
