I can't get eithe WMP or MC to play a DVD. I've set the region code. WMP acts like it will play, but then just goes blank, and MC says it cannot play the DVD. These are original discs, not burned copies. I have a custom built system, with 2 graphics cards (GTX 260 and a GT 220) 6 GB of RAM, and an i7 processor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm in grave problem here. I just installed windows 7 x64 a few days back. And initially I installed the 32bit version of k-lite codec pack for my windows media player. The media center worked fine then. It was loading my ffdshow and ac3filter along as I checked it.But then yesterday I noticed that the same pop-up od recommended/express install of WMP came again. Initially I thought that it must be some bug or something, but then when my MKV and AVI files didn't work in WMC, I realized that somehow WMP x64 got triggered, and now it is using the x64 bit of WMP in WMC. And I just wanna revert back to 32-bit WMP in WMC.
I've got some CDs which I bought in the 80s and they are in excellent conditionHowever, WMP12 won't play them. They play slow and jittery. Ripping is out of the question too.
I am able to playback .MKV files and ISO (Blu-Ray + DVD) but unfortunately I cannot play the Blu-Ray folders (BDMV + Certificate) folder and have the same with the DVD folders (Video_TS/Audio_TS). I receive the following message:"Cannot Play Video Windows Media Center cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct"Playback via TotalMedia Theatre works fine since I can open the disc folder but it fails via WMC7?
I am using:
Windows Media Center 7 MediaBrowser 2.3.2.0 Metabrowser 2.0 Arcsoft TotalMedia Theatre 5
I can't seem to play DVD's using Windows Media player. I get this "Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. You might need to adjust your Windows display settings. Open display settings in Control Panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and color quality settings." I thought maybe it was my video driver, however, I rolled it back and it still didn't work. I installed the K-Lite mega codec pack, but that didn't work. However, the Media Player Classic which got installed with the codec pack works, although I don't really like the program. VLC wasn't working either, however, I reinstalled that and it's working fine now. I'm just curious as to why my media player won't play dvd's. It's the program that I usually used to play DVD's.
I have bought a LITON (DS-6E2SH) blue ray player for my laptop and it is working fine in so much as it will play DVD's and CD's but I can't play blue ray disks because media player doesn't support them. Does anyone know whether there is any good software that will support their play back.
I have done the following:Went to "Turn Windows features on and Off", both Media Center and Media Player are checked. I unchecked and the checked them, no Media anywhere."Start menu and then in the upper right corner type in media center. It will start searching the whole computer for media center". I had a file, Media Center Programs dated 11/21/10, when I clicked on it I got "This Folder is empty". I installed this Dell computer 7/10/11. None of the newer files were helpful.Searched the Dell Reinstallation DVD thoroughly and found an icon for windows media center, I clicked it and it popped up with the following warning: Windows Media Center has lost its remote connections to Windows Media Player. Restart and try again.I don't know what to do, Windows Media Center and Player are definitely not on my Win 7 64 Bit desktop. I realize it was most likely installed by Dell but I don't remember deleting it or how.I tried to download WMC on Microsoft site but when I did it said what I had (Version 12.0.7601.17514) is newer than what would be downloaded. It seems strange the it knows the version number when I can't find the programs.
I have windows 7 on my computer, I got on my xbox 360 and setup the windows media center app on it about 4 monthes ago. I didn't have many problems at first for about a month. I always used it for movies and videos. The problems started slow at first a video might lag a little bit and buffer a couple of times, but I would restart my xbox 360 and it seemed to fix the problem until the next time. Now I have gotten to the point where everytime I exit windows media center or turn off my computer or xbox, I literally have to uninstall the xbox extender everytime and reinstall just to watch movies and videos, because if I don't, I will have an error saying the xbox can't find my pc and when I get on my pc wmc and go to the extender page it shows the xbox but says and don't guote me dont know for sure but it says something like xbox available but not ready or something like that. It will also have the yellow yield sign looking deal. Anyways when I uninstall and resetup wmc for the xbox it will work again only when I go to watch my videos in the videos section it lags real bad and during the video it wont say buffering but it acts like it is.
I've looked everywhere for someone that's had the same issue as me but haven't found anyone. I have been using windows media player happily on my computer for well over a year now. One day I added a video to my play list (as I had many times before) and it froze. Since then every time I open windows media player everything works smoothly and perfectly until I play a file. At that stage windows explorer freezes and if I leave it long enough it closes media player and resets explorer and runs very slowly until I restart my computer. How can I make it work again?
Out of nowhere, my Win7 x64 Home Professional has stopped playing .mpg files and certain website audio. The response is always "Server Execution Failed"for video files, or "Server Execution Failed
C:UsersJLSAppDataLocalTempplaylist.asx" for online streaming audio.
My experience level on this sort of thing is minimal, but I have tried removing media services (media player), rebooting, and re-installing with no success. FYI I just switched from Kaspersky to Avast, which I'm assuming should have nothing to do with my problem.
i am using samsung LCD tv and it supports DLNA. I can play all the video files on my LCD tv through windows media player except .mkv format. It does play on pc and laptop but not on LCD tv. The TV does not even show .mkv files. Do i have to install something additional to play mkv files on my tv ?
i cannot play videos in any media player it started itself.today i had blue screen error and my memory usage was abnormally higher than usual.ryt now memory usage is alright but cant play videos.
When I create a playlist in WMP 12 and try to save it I get the following Message:"Windows Media Player encountered a problem while creating or saving the playlist"I have tried disabling the WMP feature, rebooting and enabling the feature but the problem still exists.(My profile doesn't show it but I am using SP1)
Just got a brand new laptop on windows 7.It seems after each new update something is changed to make things more inconvenientThe latest one now is where my "FN-Play" button (dual function with the arrow keys) now opens media player. I used to be able to control any media program with these keys (ie: spotify and itunes) but it now only seems to work on WMP.
I have holiday movie clips taken on my Panasonic camcorder. I have copies on both desktop pc and laptop. The files used to play ok on both pc's but will not now play on my desktop anymore. I have tried copying the ones that play ok on the laptop back to the pc but the problem still exists. I can also open the files on the desktop pc using nero quick media viwer but when I try to open with Windows Media Player I get an error message in a dialogue box saying " Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file." I thought I would uninstall WMP and re-install but cannot see this as an option in control panel. I have right clicked the files and associated them with Windows Media Player but this does not help. The files show up as the Type "Movie Clip" ( .MOD Extension)
I use Zune and almost always use the Zune software to play my music but I also like Media Center and play music from it sometimes. So a few days ago I tried to play something on Media Center and it didn't work. I know that when you play music in Media Center on the PC it actually is using Media Player.
so I tried to play the same music in there and got a error with the code C00D11B1 I thought it was something with the Zune DRM since all my DRM protected music wouldn't play in Media Player, but this morning I turned on Copy protect during a rip just see if that would work, it didn't. So Media Player won't play any DRM music, anyone else have this problem and/or know of a fix?
yesterday i made a clean installation of windows 7 in my notebookbut i'm not able to play any video file in wmp 12 . i can play the mp3s thoughit worked fine before i reinstalled the OSwhenever i try to open a video file it says wmp has stopped working and gets closed
I am new to windows 7, and was trying to run the tutorials supplied my microsoft, but every time I try, I get a message saying that I need to download windows media player.
I will never learn anything at this rate. I cant see why the windows 7 creators would insist I use a player with the windows name, windows media player, if it does not even work. How limited and it should be embarassing.
So I have a .filA clip from an old computer game, and I was wondering if there was a conversion software that would allow it to play in windows media player, or if it's just plain impossible. I'm working on getting a cap card for gameplay clips, and if anybody is curious to which game this file is from, it's Marathon (the first one).
i couldn't get the windows media player to open and to play. how do i get it to work? i also have a problem with the "Devices with Removable Storage' Icons Missing"
