View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm in grave problem here. I just installed windows 7 x64 a few days back. And initially I installed the 32bit version of k-lite codec pack for my windows media player. The media center worked fine then. It was loading my ffdshow and ac3filter along as I checked it.But then yesterday I noticed that the same pop-up od recommended/express install of WMP came again. Initially I thought that it must be some bug or something, but then when my MKV and AVI files didn't work in WMC, I realized that somehow WMP x64 got triggered, and now it is using the x64 bit of WMP in WMC. And I just wanna revert back to 32-bit WMP in WMC.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have checked two seperate DVD movies and they stop after the splash screens, FBI warning and Corporate logos, and never make it to the DVD menu.
This DVD player is an external player and I have no problem with playback on my Dual boot with Vista Home Premium.
Any suggestions?
I can't get eithe WMP or MC to play a DVD. I've set the region code. WMP acts like it will play, but then just goes blank, and MC says it cannot play the DVD. These are original discs, not burned copies. I have a custom built system, with 2 graphics cards (GTX 260 and a GT 220) 6 GB of RAM, and an i7 processor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have done the following:Went to "Turn Windows features on and Off", both Media Center and Media Player are checked. I unchecked and the checked them, no Media anywhere."Start menu and then in the upper right corner type in media center. It will start searching the whole computer for media center". I had a file, Media Center Programs dated 11/21/10, when I clicked on it I got "This Folder is empty". I installed this Dell computer 7/10/11. None of the newer files were helpful.Searched the Dell Reinstallation DVD thoroughly and found an icon for windows media center, I clicked it and it popped up with the following warning: Windows Media Center has lost its remote connections to Windows Media Player. Restart and try again.I don't know what to do, Windows Media Center and Player are definitely not on my Win 7 64 Bit desktop. I realize it was most likely installed by Dell but I don't remember deleting it or how.I tried to download WMC on Microsoft site but when I did it said what I had (Version 12.0.7601.17514) is newer than what would be downloaded. It seems strange the it knows the version number when I can't find the programs.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed a USB DVB-T TV stick together with the supplied software and driver. On loading the software it found the tuner and scanned and found all the channels and the TV appears on the screen. However, when I try to use MC it says there is no tuner available. Devices & Printers lists an Unspecified Device but names it as a TV stick and says the driver is fine and everything is working normally. Troubleshooter says there is no problem to troubleshoot. I have unplugged and replugged the device several times and have also rebooted several times with no avail.

On my old computer I have my Windows Media Center TV configured for channel 3 and the cable attached to my internal TV Tuner card. Then, to access different channels I simply use the remote controller that came with my cable company set top box. Never any problems. Now, I am trying for three days to have Windows Media Center set up the TV stations on my new computer. The device manager is finding the TV Tuner Card that I installed. All the drivers are up to date. I can use WinTV to find and play channels so I know there is signal coming from the cable...the same cable that feeds my old computer...I simply unhooked it and attached it to my new computer. So, it's driving me crazy that each time I try to scan for channels I wait for 10 minutes each time only to get a message at the end saying "no tv stations found" or something like that.

I wanted to ask if it is possible to set Windows media player to open as the default player inside media center. The reason that I ask this is that I find media center sound is very low quality. I am using it inside windows 7 ultimate X64. I also use Media Browser and have set it to use media player as an external player but it loses some functionality after something is played I have to restart media center and media Browser to play anything again because it will go back to menus but not play anything untill

And I have Foobar (portable) as the default program for .mp3.Usually the icons on .mp4, .avi, .mp3 files get updated with the icons of the assigned media players. But on this PC it's not working. They're still the same icons as if WMP was the default player.Does it have to do with the Standard user account? (Because on other PCs I run from an Admin account and I don't have such problems.)
View 5 Replies View RelatedHow can I make Windows Media Player stop updating media every freaking time I start it up? It always hogs up massive amount of CPU power and goes into (Not Responding) for a min while updating.I only add media files to the Windows Explorer Library so I can get indexed searches. I don't even use WMP to view files or anything. Just to burn some music CDs sometimes.I've tried deleting the files from the WMP library but the next time I open it up, it scans and updates all my files again! Is there a way to completely purge the WMP library and make it not update ever? I've unchecked every option that seems to make it scan and update but it still does it.Basically I want to UNLINK the Windows Explorer Library from the WMP Library.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe SW I am using to synchronize my Windows Mobile phone with my desktop Outlook recently turned more and more sour and eventually always only seconds after connecting the device reproducibly crashed with the message "Window mobile Device Center Sync Host has stopped working.".Eventually I decided to uninstall "Windows Mobile Device Center" and re-install it.To reinstall I ran the setup.exe program that I had found in C:WindowsWindowsMobile. But apparently that was either not the right setup file or some pieces must still be missing, because since that re-install the greenish dialog that used to open when starting WMDC lacks the right part of the content and instead there is now always an alert popping up: "unhandled exception has occured in your application ...." (the details I append below). That means, that my mobile device synchronization is now completely f*$#%# up. Any idea how to re-install Window Mobile Device Center plus Mobile Sync Center such that they work again?[CODE]

View 14 Replies View RelatedI need to do a clean reinstall of Windows 7. I have two hard drives, C: and F:. I screwed my F drive up messing with hidden folders and now my permissions are gone. I bought the Windows 7 student edition and downloaded it onto my C drive a year ago and it is on the desktop. I bought a 1 terrabyte hard drive (F) and installed it early this year. When I go to copy my expandedsetup folder from my C: desktop to my F: drive, I lack the permission to do it. When I go to use the .exe in expandedsetup up I get a "Windows was unable to create a required installation folder, error 0x80070005." I also cannot save documents to my documents folder, download a multitude of things, even install the latest SC2 patch. Mozilla has also died on me.Where I am currently stuck at is trying to use cmd.exe and use "C:Windowssystem32" instead of the default "F:Windowssystem32" What I did is create a shortcut and make the target "F:WindowsSystem32cmd.exe" but I changed the start in to "C:WindowsSystem32" This works just fine, except when i go to use this page, Make bootable iso from student I can't get past the cmd text, it says I do not have permission to do it.

1) I can watch TV via TV card, but can I watch TV from another source such as HDMI or AV from my satalite reciever or PS3?
2) Can WMC work with a dual monitor graphics card? I would like to transmit the media center screen via AV to monitors & speakers, while being able to use the PC for other use via VGA connection.
I used to run media centre wired and it worked fine. Trying to clean up cables running all over the place Ive tried wirelessly yet its almost to the point that it doesnt work at all as its incredibly slow and takes about a minute to react to controller input.Im running a TP-LINKTD-W8930N 300Mbps router.
