How To Properly Reinstall Windows 7 Mobile Device Center
Jul 14, 2010
The SW I am using to synchronize my Windows Mobile phone with my desktop Outlook recently turned more and more sour and eventually always only seconds after connecting the device reproducibly crashed with the message "Window mobile Device Center Sync Host has stopped working.".Eventually I decided to uninstall "Windows Mobile Device Center" and re-install it.To reinstall I ran the setup.exe program that I had found in C:WindowsWindowsMobile. But apparently that was either not the right setup file or some pieces must still be missing, because since that re-install the greenish dialog that used to open when starting WMDC lacks the right part of the content and instead there is now always an alert popping up: "unhandled exception has occured in your application ...." (the details I append below). That means, that my mobile device synchronization is now completely f*$#%# up. Any idea how to re-install Window Mobile Device Center plus Mobile Sync Center such that they work again?[CODE]
I installed WMDC on my Windows 7 x64 here the other day, but i don't need it anymore, so i want to remove it. Thought it was enough uninstalling the two entries in "Programs and Features" but there is still two or more services left behind as well as a folder in: "C:WindowsWindowsMobile", and the WMDC icon in the control panel.
how to completely uninstall/remove WMDC? My guess is that i have to dive into the registry?
My PC connects to internet with a USB Data Connection. I would like to connect the following two mobile cell phones using the network of my PC,I have already connected a USB Wifi device on my PC. Now will it be possible for my Mobile Phones to use the internet connectivity of my PC through WiFi (USB Device). If yes - please let me know how to go about it? Please elaborate step by step.
I recently took advantage of the 30-day trial for Time Warner Mobile and installed their USB device and software. (They use the same WiMax network as Sprint and Clearwire.) After deciding I didn't want it, I uninstalled the software. However, when you click on the network icon in the bottom right hand corner that lists the wireless networks in the area you can access, it still has "Time Warner Mobile 3G" listed at the very top under Dial-up and VPNs. Can anyone tell me how I can get rid of that listing since I no longer have the device or the software?.
I have a new PC which is a 64bit system and is running Windows 7. I have installed Mobile Device Manager to connect to my phone. The connection to my phone has been successful, but it won't update Microsoft outlook. It tells me to make 'outlook your default email'. I have Microsoft Outlook 2000 (because that is what I had previously!) and each time I open it, it asks me if I want to make it the default email manager, and I click 'yes' - then it asks again and click 'yes'. But it clearly fails. I've tried going into 'Default Programmes' but Outlook is not even listed. I've tried 'repairing' Outlook and that hasn't worked.
I have installed Itunes version 10.3.1.55 on my computer(windows7 x86), and since that Itunes refuses to sync to my Iphone. On the previous versions of Itunes everything was just fine. I went to the Service pannel and when trying to start the AMDS and I keep gettng this error "Windows could not start the apple device service on local computer : Error1067"...I've googled the matter and seems like no one on the blogs I visited got this figured out...Apple support is even worse, they keep telling you to install and the uninstall itunes, delete temp filesetc and try the whole thing back again..
I have a problem with my Windows 7 Media Center. When I try playing a DVD on it (does for only some DVDs), it plays the background music and the video, just the voices are gone. I made sure it wasn't just the movie by enabling closed captioning and using a regular DVD player. On the regular DVD player, it ran with everything voices and all. Anyone know what could be wrong? I do have Home Premium so it shouldn't be the codecs I'd guess, but I'm new to this stuff.
I am having trouble getting my vodaphone dongle for internet access on the road installed. My PC refuses to install the drivers properly. It worked fine but it has been about 9 months since I last used it. I have made sure I have the latest drivers downloaded from vodaphone and when I try the dongle in my sons laptop it installs and works fine. I thought I would uninstall the driver from device manager but when I try to do this it just sits there for hours. I have to end up closing device manager down using task manager. I am running Windows 7 on an HP G62 Notebook.
I have an HP rp5700 system which is connected to a Windows Mobile (6.1) device. If the mobile device is plugged in and turned on, the computer will hang on the HP Event bootup options screen. None of the options will be displayed at the bottom. If I then either a) unplug the device b) undock the device or c) turn off the device, the boot options will appear, and Windows will then boot up without an issue.I tried changing the boot order, but to no avail. I've also tried unplugging the device, going into BIOS, and plugging the device back in - the BIOS screen gets really, really sluggish until I unplug/undock/switch off the device.
The BIOS is up to date. This doesn't happen with Windows XP Pro, only Windows 7 (Professional, 32-bit). One suggestion I heard was that Windows 7 has issues with connected devices it thinks are USB flash drives (although the device in question isn't in USB mode at the time). I have no other USB devices connected, as the mouse and keyboard are both PS2.
I am having issues with the atheros ethernet, when I try to update drivers I get the following "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)".
I am trying to install Win 7 Home Premium on a different HD, I have the original install disks, I boot from the DVD drive and the files load as usual but after selecting language I get the message: A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. How do I resolve this? And also is there any advantage to installing 64 bit, my processor does support it.
"Windows reports that the "A80CGSO8 IDE Controller" device is not working properly." how can i fix this problem..?? can u state where i can download the driver bcoz it also state "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"..
"Computer appears to be configured properly but the device or resource [URL] is not responding". It's not the DNS cause that's all properly set and I've double checked, restarted computer and did a virus scan with security essentials.. came up with nothing. I'm connected to the router, just not the internet and when I go into my router and disable firewall it gets rid of the yellow triangle caution symbol and says internet access.. but I can't do anything..
I'm well aware that the WDTV devices (specifically, my WDTV Live HD) don't function as MC Extenders. And while I've seen developers out there that have hacked these players (specifically, this guy), I am unable to be able to get his hacks to work properly. I figure, I like the way Media Center looks in Windows 7, and it's a whole helluva lot easier to use than WD's menus (for example, I can't simply search for an artist or album or title while browsing through the Music folder), why not just try to find someone out there that's been able to turn WDTV devices into a WM Extender.
I am having trouble running the ComproDTV 4 on Windows 7 RE, build 7100.Windows Media Center has no problem showing all channels but ComproDTV won't run. It comes up with a message saying "No Video capture device found, please reinstall the driver again".I reinstalled the driver again, this time from Compro's website, still get the same message. I know the E700's driver is working but why ComproDTV won't run. I like the app because i can share the recorded filew it in native form with PS3.ComproDTV4 is not picking up the TV tuner card.
I Windows 7 Home Premium. My windows is getting the updates but when it says configuring windows it doesn't do it and says it failure to config and is reverting back.I also cannot turn on Windows Security Center.I appears something happened 8/15. I tried microsoft's fixes and system restore which hasn't fixed the problems.[CODE]
I bought this windows mobile phone in December 2010 and since then I keep getting this stupid error from Zune - 801811A3. This phone just won't update from any PC. I've reset the phone and still no joy.
I run Windows 7 64bit os with an Orange high Speed (!) mobile broadband dongle (515m). The software (Internet Everywhere) stopped working months ago and after much arguing with Orange, they admitted that it was a software compatibility problem with my os but promised that an update would be coming soon. They gave a workaround which meant the dongle worked on dial up (with associated speed). However, after waiting months for the update, it's finally arrived but it still doesn't work! Just like the last software version, after installing it clean, it crashes at start up and won't operate. Last night I had to stay up hours to roll back my system to get the dial up working again as it prevented that from working too. I'm really sick of this and Orange's response has been woefully unsatisfactory, bordering on insulting. The latest gem was to uninstall everything internet connected then download the software! How? This has been pretty much the level of response from Orange. I'm about ready to cancel my contract with them for breach of contract.
I changed jobs but still have my mobile phone. I was syncing with the old job's exchange, but the new job uses blackberry (real happy about that one!).Anyway, I have extra computers laying around the house... was wondering if I bought and loaded up Windows Home Server (with Outlook), does anyone know if I can run it like an Exchange server mainly to keep my phone updated?
