Computer Configured Properly But Device Or Resource Not Responding

"Computer appears to be configured properly but the device or resource [URL] is not responding". It's not the DNS cause that's all properly set and I've double checked, restarted computer and did a virus scan with security essentials.. came up with nothing. I'm connected to the router, just not the internet and when I go into my router and disable firewall it gets rid of the yellow triangle caution symbol and says internet access.. but I can't do anything..

I am using hotel wifi network and was able to use it quite nicely. But suddenly my network started showing "No Internet Access" though it was connected. Diagnostics gives an error "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS Server) is not responding." I am still able to connect to same wifi properly with my other laptop.

Anyway, my computer's been having some ridiculously slow internet speeds for the past few days and whenever I do a troubleshoot, it states that the 'device or resource (DNS server) is not responding'. I've tried every possible solution I read online and I'm still experiencing this problem.

Got my new TP-Link router up and running all is well, my spare rig in ther conservatory is connecting to the net fine and it is accessing my main rig but I can not connect to it from my main rig I have done everything I can think of.All open/owned/shared with everyone, so yes all permissions are ok.stopped firewalls still the same. I have this weird problem with my laptop - i cant browse the internet, nor use any programs or games that require internet connection, however my network its still receiving and sending packages AND i CAN chat and receive/send files with skype . After diagnostic trows the "Can't communicate with Primary DNS Server" error message.I don't have router nor modem, i use cable directly.
Also my other PC witch has 100% identical network settings( IP, Mac address etc. the only difference is that is Windows XP) connects to internet with no problems whatsoever.Been searching the internet for some way to resolvet the problem all day, so far with no success. If you have any ideas what could be causing the problem please do answer below.

I have been dealing with an issue where I am only able to get on a couple of websites, while every other website will not load. I have checked my auto-config settings and ive reset Internet Explorer. I used Microsoft's tool that tells you what the problem is and it came up with "the remote device or resource won't accept the connection".

My internet was fine when I went to sleep last night but when I got up today it was giving me the yellow exclamation error. According to my internet provider, Comcast, they can ping the modem and everything, it just won't connect to the internet. The diagnostic is telling me " Windows cannot communicate with the device or resource (primary DNS server)". We've tried restarting the modem, the computer, etc. She had me go in and look at my network settings and they're fine. She even deactivated the modem on the phone and nothing.I have a desktop with windows 7. I do NOT have a router. The internet goes from the wall, to the modem, to my computer.

I have 3 USB ports. When I use one for mouse.. it works fine.. but when i plugged in my External HDD it wont recognize it.. this started just now after i got home from school (i have a feel my brother is trying to sabotage my laptop)anyway.. im not knowledgeable in terms on computer stuff but i checked a few remedies before i got here..i checked out my device's conditon on Device Manager and it has this yellow triangle with exclaimation mark in it.. i checked the properties and it says:"This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)Access is denied.To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver."

I know I don't have my computer stats in my profile, but I had to go somewhere I could get online first. Basically, I've had sketchy internet problems since I moved. Sometimes my internet will run great, other times it just comes up with the DNS error. We have a Mac Airport Express 802.11n router and I'm using the ALFA 802.11g wireless USB adapter. I tried to test it by connecting to another person's open wireless in our building, but still had DNS issues. I tried switching adapters, resetting everything in ipconfig, using Google's Public DNS settings, and my roommates haven't complained of any problems, but I'm the only one with a desktop. I don't have a firewall running.I get both "Windows can't communicate with the device of resource (primary DNS server)"and "DNS server not responding."

The SW I am using to synchronize my Windows Mobile phone with my desktop Outlook recently turned more and more sour and eventually always only seconds after connecting the device reproducibly crashed with the message "Window mobile Device Center Sync Host has stopped working.".Eventually I decided to uninstall "Windows Mobile Device Center" and re-install it.To reinstall I ran the setup.exe program that I had found in C:WindowsWindowsMobile. But apparently that was either not the right setup file or some pieces must still be missing, because since that re-install the greenish dialog that used to open when starting WMDC lacks the right part of the content and instead there is now always an alert popping up: "unhandled exception has occured in your application ...." I need to turn off the hard drive caching I go to control panel, then hardware and sound, followed by device manager In device manager I double click on disk drives, right click on the hard drive which is C drive, select properties, then click on the policy tab I unchecked the "enable write caching on the device" When I click OK then I get the hour glass If I click on anything else then properties box goes to NOT RESPONDING I can not close it, even with task manager, it does not close I restarted the computer and nothing came up I had to put the windows 7 disk in and reboot, try to repair it but it did not work using the disk I was able to restore from a restore point and get the system running. but still have the same problem trying to turn off caching?

Have recently purchased a small usb inspection snake camera with led light and when testing it plugged it into two desktops computers (one xp pro not sure of the other as it was a network work computer) It automatically loaded the drivers and brought up a screen automatically with the realtime image.(no driver disc came with it). However plugging into my windows 7 64bit sony laptop it signals a connection beep, loaded drivers automatically but wouldn't open or show up on my computer disc manager as an external usb source to click on. It does however show up on device manager as a usb camera and when I unplug and replug in it disappears and reappears so I know I have the right camera (not the lap top webcam inbuilt one that shows USB 2 Camera). Have tried updating drivers automatically and uninstalling it etc. Need it to work on the lap top so it can act as the movable screen for it?

i recently was playing a game and when the match finished my screen went black i turned my computer off and when i tried to turn it on it went system recovery it kept doing the same thing all day and now wont even turn on it just shows a amber light on the on button and says no signal on my screen.

I have a dual boot computer running Vista Ultimate and Windows 7 RC.
I recently built a new computer for my wife and loaded it with just Windows 7 RC pending delivery of the full retail version in October.
Both computers have a similar problem. Sometimes - but not always - after shutting down the computer using the Start>Shut Down button it appears to shut down but has actually gone into a deep sleep with a blank black monitor and will not wake up no matter what keyboard buttons you press. It will also not reboot when you hit the computer power button.
The only way you can switch the computer off is to hold the computer power button down for about 10 seconds - then press it again for a normal reboot.

Anyways, I am fixing a computer for a friend and his computer wouldn't start up properly. It would start up with the Windows 7 Boot logo and then go to a black screen with the mouse hanging there. I could move the mouse but nothing else would work including ctrl+alt+delete.I then used my Windows 7 usb pen backup install to install Windows 7 on the laptop and it would still hang at the black screen.I then used a program called killdisk, put it onto the usb pen and made it bootable, and it formatted everything off the hard drive. I then went to start the computer and it was still starting with the Windows 7 logo but just stayed there.I then used my Windows 7 off my usb pen and it didn't work. I also tried my Windows 7 disk and it didn't work.I faced this problem on this laptop before but it had Windows Vista on it (which was about 8 months ago) and put Windows 7 on it (8 Months ago).

I've been having a major issue with my new computer. Whenever I'm working and need to walk away for a few, my computer will fall asleep but not all the way. As in, my monitor will turn off, but my computer won't. Once the monitor turns off there's no way in turning it back on without having to do a hard restart of the computer, which I know isn't healthy or good for my computer. I don't know what settings I could've messed with to have my computer not sleep correctly.

I recently upgraded Windows 7 pro and am running 2 monitors an old 17" Tatung LCD and a 24" Samsung 245BW.
Previously while running XP and XP64 i was able to choose a mode in my nvidia control panel that says configure monitors independenty. this option is no longer available.
What is happening is that when i run a game full screen, my second monitor flickers then adjusts for the resolution of the game that i am playing skewing the view of that screen. when i exit out it reverts to normal.
since i am using extended desktop i believe that it essentially is attempting to force the resolution onto my second screen. previously in xp and xp64, when entering the game at an adjusted resolution, due to the screens being "separately configured" the primary monitor adjusted resolution while the 2nd remained perfect.
I am wondering if there is a way to "configure" these monitors independently or possibly lock or separate my secondary screen from being attacked to my primary screen.
I have tried using ultramon but i could not get it to do what i wished. I may be totally mistaken or blinded by a simple fix, or possibly it may not be a feature availabe in 7. any advice would be extremely helpfull.

I have 3 laptops, was trying to boot from linux distro 32 bit on all of them. The oldest toshiba laptop is a 32 bit and the bootable dvd works! My 2 newer Asus laptops 64bit cant boot the dvd. All of their boot orders have also been configured. Asus even has a BBS option that can let me boot into dvd drive directly. On 1 Asus I only get a blank screen. On the other, no medium detected, cdrom boot priority indicated "boot ready".

I just got some surround sound headphones. When I restart my computer after having set my sound configuration for the headphones to 7.1 (supported by these headphones) the sound configuration will be at 5.1. I don't know what is causing it to keep going to 5.1.When the set up is at 7.1 the two rear speakers are enabled. This might seem small but I play battlefield 3 and being able to better hear enemies who are behind me willter and this is one of the reasons I got the headphones so I definitely prefer these two speakers to work.
