I am using hotel wifi network and was able to use it quite nicely. But suddenly my network started showing "No Internet Access" though it was connected. Diagnostics gives an error "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS Server) is not responding." I am still able to connect to same wifi properly with my other laptop.

Anyway, my computer's been having some ridiculously slow internet speeds for the past few days and whenever I do a troubleshoot, it states that the 'device or resource (DNS server) is not responding'. I've tried every possible solution I read online and I'm still experiencing this problem.

I tried the usual unplugging the modem/router, didnt work. I plugged the laptop directly to the modem, didnt work.
I tried to allow my windows 7 laptop to print over the network, and after 3 hours gave up as nothing seemed to work. I must have done something because now I cannot connect to WiFi at all or Ethernet. It says on the system tray Not connected and below that connections available, and under wireless network connection it says it is connected to my wireless connection but I cannot connect.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using my home internet in my new place for a couple of weeks fine, yesterday morning when I tried it it had the limited access yellow triangle and wouldn�t connect.I reset the router and connected to the wifi on my iphone which worked fine, I checked the DNS numbers were the same as on my iphone which they were and I had not changed any settings. I spent the entire day yesterday online looking for solutions, I�ve reset the adapter, disabled it etc, set the ip and dns to automatic and back again etc etc.
When my wifi tries to connect to my home internet it takes a LONG time to identify and then identifies it either as an unidentified network and/or public. Even when I change it to home it changes it back to public or just doesn�t let me change it to home and says try again later.
Ps- I just tried disabling then re-enabling the protocol 6 on the wifi which isn�t working and it just said �in order to configure TCP/IP, you must install and enable a network adapter card. But then it just let me configure it and is still connected but with limited access and public network.
Got my new TP-Link router up and running all is well, my spare rig in ther conservatory is connecting to the net fine and it is accessing my main rig but I can not connect to it from my main rig I have done everything I can think of.All open/owned/shared with everyone, so yes all permissions are ok.stopped firewalls still the same. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have this weird problem with my laptop - i cant browse the internet, nor use any programs or games that require internet connection, however my network its still receiving and sending packages AND i CAN chat and receive/send files with skype . After diagnostic trows the "Can't communicate with Primary DNS Server" error message.I don't have router nor modem, i use cable directly.
Also my other PC witch has 100% identical network settings( IP, Mac address etc. the only difference is that is Windows XP) connects to internet with no problems whatsoever.Been searching the internet for some way to resolvet the problem all day, so far with no success. I have been dealing with an issue where I am only able to get on a couple of websites, while every other website will not load. I have checked my auto-config settings and ive reset Internet Explorer. I used Microsoft's tool that tells you what the problem is and it came up with "the remote device or resource won't accept the connection".

View 9 Replies View RelatedLast night I was on the internet at home absolutely fine and my laptop automatically downloaded an update, since then I have been unable to connect to my wi-fi. I deleted the updates and was still unable to connect, so I tried to used a system recovery restore point and every one I use starts but fails to complete.So, I did a factory reset after around 8 hours of trying to sort it out today and I STILL have the same problem. I can plug in the cable to connect and my housemate is having absolutely no issues connecting and neither is my phone so now I am at a total loss what I should do to resolve this. Prior to the factory reset I was able to connect to the wi-fi but it was stating no network access/limited access and now it simply won't connect to my internet at all. It finds my full strength signal but will not connect.My drivers for the Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n card are the most up to date and the laptop (HP G62) says it is working fine.

According to my internet provider, Comcast, they can ping the modem and everything, it just won't connect to the internet. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.The specified server cannot perform the requested operation.Lately we have had problems with all Windows XP pcs not being able to access all the shared folders on one Windows 7 pc on the lan.It is intermittent. I cannot think of what has changed recently.It is temporarily fixed by a reboot of the Win7 pc, but since it is a server in an office environment, this can be difficult to do middle of the day.Turning firewall software off on host and client has no effect.Network sharing profiles are never changed as issue comes and goes.Unsharing a folder, and resharing it has no effect.The Win7 pc does show up as a networked computer and all are in the same workgroup.All Windows 7 pcs on the lan can access the shared folders when all the XP pcs cannot.Another Win7 pc on the lan is nearly an identical hardware build with same firewall and never has a problem.

I tried to test it by connecting to another person's open wireless in our building, but still had DNS issues. I have it set to obtain an IP address and a DNS server automatically... Still doesn't work. Until yesterday morning I had a good wifi signal. We are in France and run on Nordnet Satellite Internet.However, now I have an exclamation mark on signal bar and no internet access. We are on Nordnet Satellite and I am running WIndows 7 on a Sony Vaio laptop.It is not the router as my husband's laptop is working fine with no connection problems. I can connect to internet by using cable but not wifi which is very inconvenient as I have to keep bringing the computer downstairs.Have done diagnostic check and error is: Windows cannot connect with the device or resource (primary DNS server)Computer also trying to connect by cellular profile (which is the O2 dongle that I use when I go to the UK). Running checks suggests resetting the router, but two other devices, an IPad and an almost identical netbook are connected no problem. I havn't changed anything. It can see the router. Done normal reboots, disconnect reuse connect adapter etc. no luck. This has happened before on two other computers on different routers, and we don't know what eventually fixed it, although changing the encryption method might have solved one of them, even though that computer had been connecting for weeks before the failure. The only one of our family devices never to have experienced this is the IPad.
