View 1 RepliesI use Huawei K3765 USB Dongle. I have unlocked it so that I can use other SIM cards with it. I also had to install Mobile Partner for it. But now I am getting an error in Mobile Partner saying, "the device has been disconnected or is unavailable".I can still connect to the internet through dial-up but to use 3G services I need Mobile Partner. Now here is a link where a solution is posted.[URL]... I would like to know whether uninstalling every driver under 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers' is safe or not.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently took advantage of the 30-day trial for Time Warner Mobile and installed their USB device and software. (They use the same WiMax network as Sprint and Clearwire.) After deciding I didn't want it, I uninstalled the software. However, when you click on the network icon in the bottom right hand corner that lists the wireless networks in the area you can access, it still has "Time Warner Mobile 3G" listed at the very top under Dial-up and VPNs. Can anyone tell me how I can get rid of that listing since I no longer have the device or the software?.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a new PC which is a 64bit system and is running Windows 7. I have installed Mobile Device Manager to connect to my phone. The connection to my phone has been successful, but it won't update Microsoft outlook. It tells me to make 'outlook your default email'. I have Microsoft Outlook 2000 (because that is what I had previously!) and each time I open it, it asks me if I want to make it the default email manager, and I click 'yes' - then it asks again and click 'yes'. But it clearly fails. I've tried going into 'Default Programmes' but Outlook is not even listed. I've tried 'repairing' Outlook and that hasn't worked.

It worked fine but it has been about 9 months since I last used it. I have made sure I have the latest drivers downloaded from vodaphone and when I try the dongle in my sons laptop it installs and works fine. I thought I would uninstall the driver from device manager but when I try to do this it just sits there for hours. I have to end up closing device manager down using task manager. I am running Windows 7 on an HP G62 Notebook.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed WMDC on my Windows 7 x64 here the other day, but i don't need it anymore, so i want to remove it. Thought it was enough uninstalling the two entries in "Programs and Features" but there is still two or more services left behind as well as a folder in: "C:WindowsWindowsMobile", and the WMDC icon in the control panel.
how to completely uninstall/remove WMDC? My guess is that i have to dive into the registry?
The SW I am using to synchronize my Windows Mobile phone with my desktop Outlook recently turned more and more sour and eventually always only seconds after connecting the device reproducibly crashed with the message "Window mobile Device Center Sync Host has stopped working.".Eventually I decided to uninstall "Windows Mobile Device Center" and re-install it.To reinstall I ran the setup.exe program that I had found in C:WindowsWindowsMobile. But apparently that was either not the right setup file or some pieces must still be missing, because since that re-install the greenish dialog that used to open when starting WMDC lacks the right part of the content and instead there is now always an alert popping up: "unhandled exception has occured in your application ...." (the details I append below). That means, that my mobile device synchronization is now completely f*$#%# up. Any idea how to re-install Window Mobile Device Center plus Mobile Sync Center such that they work again?[CODE]

View 9 Replies View RelatedI run Windows 7 64bit os with an Orange high Speed (!) mobile broadband dongle (515m). The software (Internet Everywhere) stopped working months ago and after much arguing with Orange, they admitted that it was a software compatibility problem with my os but promised that an update would be coming soon. They gave a workaround which meant the dongle worked on dial up (with associated speed). However, after waiting months for the update, it's finally arrived but it still doesn't work! Just like the last software version, after installing it clean, it crashes at start up and won't operate. Last night I had to stay up hours to roll back my system to get the dial up working again as it prevented that from working too. I'm really sick of this and Orange's response has been woefully unsatisfactory, bordering on insulting. The latest gem was to uninstall everything internet connected then download the software! How? This has been pretty much the level of response from Orange. I'm about ready to cancel my contract with them for breach of contract.
Oh, my laptop is an Acer Aspire 7540.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI run an ACER Aspire X3950 with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I purchased a "RAYGO eXtreme Hard Drive enclosure (SATA to USB)" and installed within it a 1 Terabite HDD that was working (and can work) flawlessly in a different PC. The HDD is about 85% empty. For no apparent reason, most of the time when I (try to) transfer large files to the external HDD, the latter stops working. However, I've been able to transfer (blocks of) files of more thann 30 Gb without a hitch.
When the external HDD does stops working, Device Manager shows "Unknown device". When it works, Device Manager shows two instances of "USB Mass Storage Device". If I restart the PC, most of the time the external HDD is ignored and not even the "Unknown device" entry appears. The closest thing to a solution I found at "Problems may occur when you try to transfer files to or from a device that is connected to a USB 2.0 hub", where they state:
Code: Resolution for Windows 7
To resolve this problem in Windows 7, add a EnHcSoftRetry registry entry with a DWORD value of 1 under the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetEnumPCI<hw id><instance id>Device Parameters
Note To obtain <hw id> and <instance id>, open the Device Manager property page for each EHCI USB host controller, click the Details tab, and then select Device Instance Path in the list. Most systems have only one or two EHCI host controllers, so this should not be too difficult. To no avail, I've tried placing the EnHcSoftRetry registry entry both as part of the "Device Parameters" entry and as a sub of it. I've tried using DWORD and QWORD to no avail, too.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an HP rp5700 system which is connected to a Windows Mobile (6.1) device. If the mobile device is plugged in and turned on, the computer will hang on the HP Event bootup options screen. None of the options will be displayed at the bottom. If I then either a) unplug the device b) undock the device or c) turn off the device, the boot options will appear, and Windows will then boot up without an issue.I tried changing the boot order, but to no avail. I've also tried unplugging the device, going into BIOS, and plugging the device back in - the BIOS screen gets really, really sluggish until I unplug/undock/switch off the device.
The BIOS is up to date. This doesn't happen with Windows XP Pro, only Windows 7 (Professional, 32-bit). One suggestion I heard was that Windows 7 has issues with connected devices it thinks are USB flash drives (although the device in question isn't in USB mode at the time). I have no other USB devices connected, as the mouse and keyboard are both PS2.
I recently built a windows 7 home premium PC with an Intel 160 GB SSD as (C) for OS/programs and second 1TB HDD as (D) for data and backups. I also have a DVD burner (H). They are all SATA drives running in AHCI mode. Immediately after installing just windows, I used the windows backup feature to successfully create a system image to a local disk (D) which was and still is nearly empty. The next day, after installing drivers, updates, and a few programs, I went to create a second system image but this time it failed. The process started as it should have but halfway through it failed with the following message:
"The backup failed"
"The device is not connected (0x8007048f)"
At that point, after exiting the program, the D drive does not show up on my computer. Upon rebooting the D drive reappears. I searched the web and found some references to checking whether volume shadow copying services and their dependent services were working and that didn't work. Another reference said to try updating to a newer bios as some have bugs that screw up the enumerator for the drive order. The BIOS I use is the latest and wasn't changed since my first successful attempt at creating the system image.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOk so I have a fairly new computer that had Vista on it. I got the free upgrade and upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium. I've been using 7 for about 3 weeks now with no problems at all. Then out of nowhere approx 3-4 days ago, the internet doesn't seem to want to cooperate. Once in a while web pages wouldnt load and now most of the time my browser will fail to load any pages. I called my ISP tech support and everything is fine on their end, and I can confirm that I am indeed connected because I can play multiplayer games, use utorrent and occasionally msn messenger.I've tried both Firefox 3.5.5 (default) and IE 8. It appears that there is some conflict somewhere that is denying me internet access. I need this resolved ASAP since most of my school notes are online and it's midterm/finals time.
While talking to tech support I was advised that restoring windows to a backup may solve the problem. So I did that with a backup that was 3 days old and it worked for maybe an hour then I had the same problem.I should also note that I am NOT using wireless. I have a wired cable connection. When the browser does decide to work, I find that it is very slow. Even my download speeds on utorrent have decreased drastically.
