Dec 18, 2012recently i delete my files and accidently empty the recycle bin. beside using software is there anyway to recover my files without using any software/application?

Cannot Delete Folder - File Name Too Long For Recycle Bin
Jun 21, 2012I want to backup my computer on an external hard drive, which must be clean before the backup. There is one folder that I cannot delete. It is a folder with many subfolders. I cannot access the files in any of these subfolders. The message I get is: "Do want to permanently delete this folder? The folder contains items whose names are too long for the recycle bin." How can I get past this?

Jan 23, 2012As the thread title states my recycle bin in Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit displays empty and shows that it can't be emptied in the context menu, even right after I finish deleting something as simple as a 1KB .txt file. And it doesn't update it's status with a refresh, only when I double click the recycle bin on the desktopIt's never done this before and just started happening (as far as I'm concerned) randomly a few days ago. I've google searched and found nothing except the trick everyone knows about adding ,0 to the end of the registry for custom icons. But unfortunately this does not solve my problem as it's not just the icon that displays empty but the bin itself. have also noticed it's been doing it mostly after I wake my computer up from Sleep/Hibernation but not when I restart my computer after noticing the problem.

Feb 19, 2012I currently have 4 external hard drives connected to my computer. I have each of them set to sleep after an hour of inactivity. However, if I am using the computer, they stay asleep, until I delete something; anything. Any time I send something to the recycle bin, all four of my external hard drives wake up.
I would like for this not to happen. I already went to the Recycle Bin Properties and set each external hard drive to "Don't move files to the recycle bin. Remove files immediately when deleted" thinking that it would quit checking them for deleted files.
how to prevent these external hard drives from turning on when I delete files off of my computer. And just to be clear, I am NOT deleting files that are on the externals, they are files that are on the Computer.

Upon booting up, i tried to open any program shortcuts on the desktop but multiple windows prompt me whether i want to delete the shortcuts. Any files or folders i clicked it happens too. Hence halting up the system.At first i thought it was some kind of virus or malware, so booted to safe mode to have it scan. But surprisingly, the problem still persist in safe mode. Cannot Delete Empty Folders In Windows 7 - Access Denied
Jun 27, 2011I am trying to delete some useless empty folders, but I am having an administrator issue that I can't seem to get around. I know already that I'm probably having this administrative problem because these folders are located on a separate hard drive than the one with my old and current installation of Windows 7. From what I've read, this leads to administrative issues, preventing me from deleting the folders. Right now, windows cannot detect who the current administrator is, and so far, every time I have tried to edit or change the administrator to my current admin account, I get some errors reporting that my access is denied. I have managed to change the parent folder's admin, but the two subfolders I can't ever seem to change or modify.

Jun 10, 2011May have a virus or had a virus due to a possible lapse of McAfee virus scan. Have a Dell (dec 2009 Desktop) with a Window 7 OS and Office 2007 Software. I did a restore to an earlier date hoping to restore settings but it didn't change.resently in my document folder are a first level of folders, when I pass my mouse over the folder it indicates that there empty, but I bought an external drive and when i moved the folders to the drive and read the drive / viewed the folders on another one of my computers they are complete and contents are visible. If I open excel or word and open a recent document it opens and if I look at the properties it points to the folders that otherwise show to be empty. Might be a separate problem but the same cause of the problem, when i view my yahoo mail and click a document for download, I select document download and I see nothing after that.
