View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to hook up my TV with my computer, and for the most part it's working. The video goes through and I get how to control it and everything. The only thing not working is the sound.
I'm using an HDMI to HDMI cable, and like I said the video is fine. Also, when the cable is plugged into my boyfriend's laptop, the sound comes out of the TV.
So this must mean the problem is with my computer specifically. Although, this computer is only a month old, so I wouldn't think anything is out of date.

windows is checking for a solution to the problem. followed by another box stating windows explorer is restarting. But the requested application never starts. I have run the Ultimate Boot CD 4 Win, replaced the hard drive and cloned all data, run numerous registry scans, malware scans and antivirus scans. Initially removing over 1500 virus/malware hits and over 1400 registry errors. But the main problem persists, explorer.exe won't open programs.

View 1 Replies View Relatedhe has a Dell Inspiron laptop Window 7 and a Samsung LED TV. I'm on port HDMI2 on the TV from the PC. I have tried everything but it says "source is not connected..." I tested the cable with the blue ray player and it works fine. I called Dell (still under warranty) an they were useless.I've checked the settings on the PC and I have it set to "extended" so I can see the monitor on both....no luck. Is it a setting on the TV that I am missing?
View 1 Replies View Relatedi've twice installed latest drivers GeForce 285.62 Driver , i've been into nvidia control panel and then setup multiple monitors & it only detects my other vga monitor not the hdmi one, i'm using a brand new hdmi cable & can confirm i've connected it to the correct hdmi connector on my monitor, it has 2 hdmi ports and i've tried both, when i go into device manager & display adapters there is only 1 adapter that says nvidia geforce gt 545, should there be another 1 for the hdmi? i'm out of options, i even work in i.t as a breakfix engineer coming across similar issues like this but i cannot deal with this & really need some help so i'm really hoping someone will help me out here i'm wondering if its anything to do with my other hardware such as the xeon cpu? (a longshot but i've only just built this pc & never built a xeon system before & would normally go for core i5 or core i7)
View 7 Replies View Relatedi have a dell core 2 duo with 3gb of ram, and an ati hd4650, when i boot up, both outputs get the boot up screens, when it gets into windows, the hdmi output appears to be unplugged(not available for selection, just not there) it is worth noting that it worked fine under vista, anyways, when i switch the source on my receiver, or turn it off, as long as it is plugged in, it then gets detected, and i can modify resolution, and apparently it is outputting sound as well, i cannot verify this because the receiver is OFF, tried various versions of the catalyst drivers, and one of them worked, until i went into the catalyst center to change something and it went back to what it was doing i feel it is something wrong with the windows side or the driver, ive tried upgrading to the x64 version, ive tried different cables, different ports/plugs, it just wont work, i have no idea where to look in the registry to change when it is detected, but when i turn off the receiver or switch off of that source, the monitor flickers and the output is detected, this is frustrating because i wanted all of my home machines to be on 7, and i really dont want to go back to vista.

On the Asus website driver support only goes to vista, and I have read that the vista x64 drivers are not supported for Windows 7. how to install Windows 7 on this machine? I get into installation and it asks for a CD/DVD drive device driver is needed to carry on etc. I am just wondering if that is a driver for the DVD ROM or another device on the mobo.

The tv is a vizio 47" 3d LCD and the laptop is running windows 7 home 64bit. I have tried windows graphics drivers, lenovo drivers and intel drivers. To me there is not much difference between them but who knows. The laptop will output to tv using vga and it will connect to an LG 42 inch LCD at my work using hdmi, just not to the one I have at home. I have tried everything that I can think of as far as settings go and on my tv as well. Nothing changes whatever I do. Does anyone know of any hardware compatibility between some vizio tvs and windows 7? I have seen one on the compatibility website for windows but it was not my tv. Mine is not listed. The model number for my tv is E3D470VX. Not sure what else to try. Next I guess I will call Vizio to see if they can work out the problem. Lenovo support doesn't know.

Everything used to work fine but I've recently started having problems with the sound. When I turn the computer on, the sound works perfectly. However, if I close the TV or change the input from my computer to anything else, and then go back to the computer, the sound is gone.I looked through the sound options in the Control panel and noticed that the sound problem comes from my TV speakers (identified as AMD HDMI output) being unplugged. This is obviously impossible because the speakers are in the TV so this must be a Windows problem. This output works perfectly when the sound is on.My TV is connected to my computer through a single HDMI cable for sound and image (ATI Radeon 5700 graphics card and ASUS M4A79XTD EVO motherboard on-board soundcard, both with latest drivers). I use Windows 7 premium home edition 64-bit and I have 4 GB of RAM. i found that either logging off from Windows or restarting the computer will bring the sound back on. Unfortunately, as soon as I turn off the TV or change the input, the sound goes off again.

I have my computer monitor on VGA and my TV on HDMI. When I have both monitor and TV connected, I lose the Windows 7 startup animation. It uses the Vista animation instead. When I have just the computer monitor alone, on VGA or HDMI, the Windows 7 animation comes back. How can I make the Windows 7 be used even if both monitor and TV are connected?
View 9 Replies View RelatedUp until the other day, I've been using my MSI Wind u230 netbook / Radeon HD 3200 to output to my monitor (Acer S243HL - only has 1x DVI and 2x HDMI inputs) and then occasionally swap to a Westinghouse 32" TV.The other day: I was using my monitor then swapped to the tv, and then returned to my room to connect to the monitor and it just won't work. (To note, I've been using Win key + P to set projector only and to disconnect projector before unplugging the HDMI cable.)The netbook screen will turn itself off (as if it detects the HDMI-out) but the screen or TV will just show "No signal."I tried a shorter HDMI cable, tried the other input on the monitor, still nothing. Strangely enough, checking the displays in Catalyst or the Screen Resolution properties, it can detect both the TV and the monitor. There's just no signal coming out.Even stranger: trying to connect another laptop to the monitor (which used to work) displays "No signal" too.

I am using the hdmi port and the display port for two tvs and I am using the vga (I think its called the vga) port it sez right on the box that it supports 3 monitors. A lot of times when I have a tab open in IE9, and open a new tab, either by clicking on the new tab, or a link inside the current page opens the new tab when I click it - when I'm done with what I needed and go to close the new tab, I get an error message 'Internet Explorer Has Stopped Working' IE freezes until I close the error window. I used to get a crash dump opening certain folders, usually was one of my car picture folders, recently it's my downloads with my minecraft etc in it.. I've run check disk but it happens over and over and over, never fails.The bug check is as follows 0x000000F4 (0x00000003,0x87558828,0x875899 4,0x8321CD60)When it runs check disk it deletes thousands of orphan files it tells me, 12kb in bad sectors, deleting corrupt file record segment 37572, deleting index entry for a ton of dll files. Also since this started my computer is convinced it isn't genuine windows when it really is..

Video: Onboard (using inetgrated graphics)
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Now the problem:Insert disc and boot, no problem. Windows 7 sees the SSD and installs.Once install completes, PC reboots and attempts to complete installation. Another reboot occurs now and upon restarting a message pops up saying that an error occurred and installation cannot continue and to start it all again.Sometimes instead of rebooting it will flash different colours on the screen.BIOS is set to AHCI (i have tried IDE as well, same problem)Installing the OS to a normal SATA drive works OK.Have tried using Acronis to clone the disk but this doesn't work, i'm assuming the 100MB partition Windows 7 creates may causes some problems when imaging and redeploying.
I have a dell xps laptop that crashed and when I restarted it went into a never ending startup repair loop.I tried using the recovery function to no luck and now I have created a bootable windows dvd.The problem is when I try to boot from it, either the bios or hitting F12 to select dvd it just goes into the same repair loop - sometimes its the graphical ui and other times it's the black and white text telling me to repair or restore.I searched this forum and it seems that most answers want you to use a usb. Unfortunately, I do not have one large enough to put the Windows 7 iso on it
