No Hdmi Input On LCD Hdtv With Windows 7 64 Bit Laptop
Sep 29, 2011
I just bought a Lenovo v570 laptop with vga and hdmi output and I cannot get the hdmi to output to my tv. The tv is a vizio 47" 3d LCD and the laptop is running windows 7 home 64bit. I have tried windows graphics drivers, lenovo drivers and intel drivers. To me there is not much difference between them but who knows. The laptop will output to tv using vga and it will connect to an LG 42 inch LCD at my work using hdmi, just not to the one I have at home. I have tried everything that I can think of as far as settings go and on my tv as well. Nothing changes whatever I do. Does anyone know of any hardware compatibility between some vizio tvs and windows 7? I have seen one on the compatibility website for windows but it was not my tv. Mine is not listed. The model number for my tv is E3D470VX. Not sure what else to try. Next I guess I will call Vizio to see if they can work out the problem. Lenovo support doesn't know.
I have done some searching but to no avail. I have tried everything I can find/think of with absolutely no luck.
I have a brand new Samsung LN46B750 which I have connected to my desktop for use as an HTPC. VGA works fine, but I would much prefer to use a digital connection. SO, I have an HDMI <> DVI adapter and a monoprice HDMI cable connecting my GeForce 6800 to the HDMI/DVI port on the HDTV.
I have tried 182.5 and the latest Nvidia drivers as well as the generic Windows 7 drivers. It's all the same.
Everything works fine in the OS so long as I make it past the Windows splash screen. And unfortunately, that never happens. I believe that the problem lies in the auto adjustment of the screen when 7 starts loading. (If I boot without the TV connected, and then connect after the splash screen has loaded, everything is perfect.)
Is there any way to disable the auto detection/adjustment of the TV and just have the OS always boot into 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz. I am really tired of the blank or black screen every time I reboot. This is a terrible bug with Windows 7 or EDID and it needs to be fixed now Microsoft!
how can i have 1366x768 resolution via the ordinary pc vga cable i have an hdmi port in the tv and the graphics card but the problem is i have an xbox 360 which is connected to the only HDMI port in the TV so the xbox is connected via hdmi and the pc is connected via VGA i have a samsung La22B350F2 TV?
I have a Dell 1525 with the intel 965 chipset graphics. I had XP and Vista 32bit installed previously and the graphics drivers would have an extra option to change the horizontal and vertical position of the screen. But now with Seven x64 and the drivers downloaded from Update, I can't seem to fix the problem.
Whenever I have a program maximized on my hdtv a few pixels width wise will be off screen. Just enough to have the menu bars and scroll bars off screen. Are there any third party programs to fix this? I tried installing x64 Vista drivers and they would invert and wash out the colors on my screen, totally unusable.
i have an Alienware M17X R3 with an HDMI INPUT which i can plug my xbox 360 into and play it through my laptop monitor. Is there any software that will allow me to use the HDMI IN as the primary video input, in oppose to the actual desktop screen? i tried using a few free softwares in which it records the "HDMI IN ON" message that shows up, but when it goes away and when I see my dashboard, the recording software sees my desktop image. i do not have a capture card, nor do i want to use one. i simply want to use a software (if there is one) to capture the HDMI IN on my laptop.
This is becoming a pain in the ass. I am using HDMI through my AMD 6850 to my LG TV for audio and video. It has been working fine(no audio problems) for about a year.Just recently, with no hardware or related software change I can think of, now, if I switch the input on my TV(for example go to HDMI1 to watch TV and then back to the PC) there is no audio. It becomes disconnected, I have reinstalled and tried using the AMD HDMI driver and the Realtek(my chipset) HDMI driver. When I switch inputs, sound manager shows HDMI as "not plugged in". The only way to fix it is to unplug the cable and plug it back in while staying on the PC HDMI input
I've just built a new computer with Windows 7 and a gigabyte brand radeon HD4890 and have been having the same issue as some other users with regard to the over/underscan.
I managed to correct the inch or so of unfilled space when displaying the desktop by using the under/overscan utility in CCC (thanks to info on this forum ^_^) but found that the problem still exists when I ran my first full-screen applications.
I installed, updated, and ran Spore: Galactic Adventures to take a look at how my system was going to handle everything, but found that the dreaded inch was back. The really odd thing was that when I switched Spore to windowed mode, the inch had gone and I could maximise to full-screen. Of course, the window header and taskbar kind of detract from the game, but this isn't necessarily an issue for Spore (which can hardly be described as immersive).
I am, however, concerned that this issue may pop up in other games where the window header and taskbar will detract from the game (if it operates well in windowed mode at all).
I plan on investigating further later today, possibly in the direction of motherboard and chipset drivers, but also testing with other games.
ive got a problem with my new viewsonic vx2753mh-led monitor. its got 2x hdmi inputs and one vga.the vga works straight off the bat, but whenever I try and plug the hdmi in it just says no input signal detected and goes black I noticed in device manager that this was installed as 'generic non-pnp monitor' so after jumping through some hoops i managed to install the driver as 'viewsonic vx2753 SERIES' anyway this doesnt seem to have made a difference. still no input through the hdmi.I have tested to cord on my samsung tv and it worked fine so it can't be a problem with the cord or the graphics card....just some general info that might be of use:
windows 7 x64 dual monitor setup
the graphics is integrated on the intel i5 chip my display adapters in device manager says Intel(R) HD Graphics Family.it has a dvi out, hdmi out, and vga out.
I've been trying to connect my laptop to a HDTV. I have the required (I think) cable, it connects well to both laptop and TV, I can see the image on the TV screen, but the image on the TV is small and centered. It's probably twice as small as the screen itself. I want to stretch it, but I don't know how. I'm really not sure that the problem is the laptop and not the TV itself, though.I don't know what specifics to include. I can add anything that might be required The TV is 1080p, maximum resolution on the laptop is 720p. I tried connecting the cable to all 4 HD slots in the TV and some give different results. Some are more stretched than others, but not full screen. I tried changing the TV option
Hey I'm running Win7 64 bit. My laptop has the nvidia 330m. I have a standard HDMI cable hooked up to my HDTV. I can get picture perfectly, but no audio. I do not see any kind of option to do so.
I am looking at getting a new laptop.I have my hart set on one model, with several, variations. Here is the first one Amazon.com: ASUS G73JW-XA1 Republic of Gamers 17.3-Inch Gaming Laptop,Black): Computer & Accessories No definitive answer on to which kind of optical drive this has... Every input field that is displayed is immediatley filled with an endless stream of dashes -------- and I cannot stop it.
Even the Microsoft button immediately launches search and starts filling this with dashes. Excel starts and then immediately fills the first cell clicked with dashes - pages of them if I let it continue. I have Norton 360 which reports nothing untoward and have checked the keyboard to make sure the keys are not sticking (they are not) but it seems bizarre. I have tried everything and have managed to negotiate to restore - but (as ususal) restore just wastes your time going through the process and reporting that the restore hasn't worked 30-minutes later. Other odd things are happening too - restore only shows one restore point ands when I click to see more, I get a flash of other restore points available and immediately the screen changes to just show one restore point again.
I have taken the memory out and tried each of the two modules on it's own - this changes nothing. Have I got a virus or trojan? The last thing that has happened is random folders opening and closing...I have Win 7 32-bit Home Premium fully service packed to latest spec.
I am using a Laptop with a dead screen by running an external monitor from vga port. I am trying to duplicate this monitor on Sony HD tv using an USB adapter to HDMI. On the first go around I got my desktop ...minus any task bars or icons. on the Sony plus sound but could not get the complete desktop to display. (I am thinking now this might have been resolution trouble and my icons were just out sight) Videos play fine on vga monitor but see just windows logo on Sony.
When I go to display settings I see "1/2 multimonitors" and it shows the Sony as 3. That is when I get lost. If I click on identify it shows a giant " 1" and "2" on my vga monitor. at the same time. Then my choices are duplicate, extend, and show desktop. Which should I use.? I am not sure if my vga monitor is 1 or 2.
There is also a "connect to projector". I messed around there and killed the vga monitor (my only one) Had to restore in safe mode to get back to normal vga output.
Look worse than the VGA out on my laptop? The HDMI out has black bars on the left, right, bottom and top. The VGA looks crisp and clear and fills the whole screen on my TV.
I have a HP Compaq 2230s laptop and it has a HDMI port. I use a High-Speed HDMI cable to connect it to my LG 3D Smart TV. I finds the video but it does not get the audio (partially). Once I connected, I tested for sound using the volume mixer and the "ding" is played on my TV. But when I try to play a song from my laptop, it is coming from my laptop speakers!
But working I mean, I go to control panel then sound and for HDMI is only lets me select stereo.
After some research I figured maybe its because the HDMI goes to the TV and the TV itself only has two speakers.
Still there must be a way to do this.
I can't do HDMI to the surround receiver as its a bit old
But, its seems to be surround when playing movies through VLC...
But I tried this surround test.
http://www.halfgaar.net/media/chan-id.zip
and you could defintiely tell there was "audio coming from different corners". But, when the test announced which speaker the sound should be coming out, it wasn't always accurate.
My HDMI connection from my old laptops works but my new x64 does not want to work. I do see the chanel open on the tv when I plug in but dont see video or hear sound.Just a blank screen. Under sound setting, the HDMI option is there but It wont allow me to set it as the default
My old laptop connected just fine but my new one doesnt. New laptop has TWO graphics card (intel for 2D and nvidia for more taxing stuff) and am wondering whether thats the issue? I connect my laptop to TV via HDMI but when I hit F1 (to change display output to a projector) the laptop screen changes (As though it has connected to the TV) but the TV isnt showing anything.
I have to restart my Lenovo z570 laptop everytime I need to connect through HDMI to my LG 37 inch TV, and the other problem is if after connection i happen to switch between inputs on my LCD and switch back to HDMI, the connection is lost. (I have gone tru all the necessary HDMI setups and everything seems fine)
I want to watch my laptop on the tv. iv pluged in the cable the screen comes on the tv but only small. iv tried to change the resolution and download a tv tunner but they arnt workking.
My laptop (Acer Travelmate 5730) identifies my TV's (Sony Bravia and Toshiba) via HDMI cable but does not send any picture or sound. I have tried adjusting the screen setting and resolution but this has not helped at all.
My little brother came home from work one night and now is screen doesn't work at all. no flickering, backlight etc. I connected it top the TV via HDMI and even that didn't show up anything. How high are the chances that his graphics card has died?
What's been going on with my HDMI port. 2 nights ago I was watching a movie through my Dell Inspiron N5050 laptop through my Panasonic HDTV. Yesterday, I tried to connect my HDMI cable to my laptop and computer, but nothing happened...So frantically I've been searching everywhere and trying what I have so far with no progress...
1.System Restore to earlier date when my HDMI port was working. 2.Toggle Computer/Duplicate/Extended/Projector Only and nothing worked(Also made sure tv was on the right HDMI input) 3.Tried 3 different HDMI cables and HDMI inputs 4.Uninstalled all sound drivers and Display Adapter(Intel(R) HD Graphics Family 5.Contacted Dell and had them try to reinstall drivers 6. Checked BIOS but I couldn't find any enable/disable feature for video. 7. Took battery out of laptop waited for 30 seconds pressed power button to reset.
My Panasonic TV doesn't even show up under my playback devices and when I try and do a dual screen through screen resolution it says another display not connected. I've tried going Intel HD Graphics Control Panel as well...no such Luck! Beginning to think that my HDMI port on my laptop is broken.
I have a Toshiba L755 Laptop with Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel. I hooked up the laptop via HDMI cable to a TV monitor. It worked great, but afterwards the screen will not fill up. I can't adjust the overscan and am stuck.
