Windows 7 Explorer Does Not Format Dvd?
Dec 6, 2012My win 7 explorer does not show me an option to format a Writeable DVD. What can I do to get this option?

How To Control Explorer Format In Windows 7
Dec 20, 2012Windows Explorer is now trying to treat all of my data as media files, wasting huge amounts of space on "artist" and "title" and other columns that have no relevance to .zip and .exe files. Manually changing the column selection works after the fact, but I don't want to have to correct it constantly. How do I keep it from making stupid "automatic" decisions like that?

Jul 1, 2010I recently installed Windows 7 and now when I open a folder containing wav files explorer jumps up to 50 to 80 CPU usage.The folder contains wav music files because I am converting them from 320 mp3, and FLAC to use in Ableton Live, which is a music workstation.The folder it originally happened to came from my previous hard drive, which may have got damaged, so the files might be corrupt.. but this issue didn't happen with the folder in question after the hard drives incident (which may have resulted it having bad sectors), when I was using windows xp.Recently I converted a FLAC file to wav using this new windows 7 install. When I tried to access the folder that it was put it, again explorer jumped up to 80 percent, dllhost.exe is also contributing the cpu strain, with around 30 cpu usage.I googled this and I was recommend to download a patch for windows 7 which promised to solve the exact problem I had, it said something about explorer taking up CPU and corrupt wav files, however even after this fix.

My concern is that Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 (KIS) had corrupted data bases and after removal and reinstallation did not perform well. The indentation on the display is very slight and hard to see so that it is very hard to tell where a subdirectory starts and ends. It takes a long time to fill in the file structure so that after several seconds, even minutes, the display is still jumping around. There are a lot of things that I like about W7 but this is NOT one of them. I use windows explorer a lot.

Aug 1, 2011I've got a 1gb Pendrive, used to work.. but it spewed up 'Corrupt files' errors, and then finally gave up completely. It won't open, and asks to format it, I've tried every option it gives me but it won't format.. Supposedly, it's got 0 bytes of space, but on Disk management, it's 969MB RAW format, but it's a healthy primary partition. Formatting isn't doing anything, so.. It's pretty important! I need the USB to flash my BIOS, which will then unlock my CPU settings (It's a modded BIOS Btw.) so I can Overclock my E6300. So.

Jan 23, 2011I just recently built my newest creation and stumbled upon this error when attempting to format my C drive.These are the specs:
AMD Phenom II x2 555
Gigabyte 6850 Radeon
Gigabyte MA770T-UD3
4GB Ram
and finally 1TB Seagate internal HDD
This is the whole error:Windows can't format C "Check to see that the disk and drive are connected properly, make sure that the disk is not read-only, and then try again. For more information, search Help for read-only files and how to change them."When I enter BIOS it sees the drive without issues. It does, however, see it as an IDE although it's a SATA. Is that a big issue? i don't see SATA drives anywhere on the BIOS. Back to the issue. Have any of you encountered this specific problem? If so, how'd you get around it? I tried setting the drive as primary, switched it from SATA slot 4 to SATA slot 0 and then slot 1 but no luck, always the same error.
