I have an HP Pavilion laptop and used recovery manager to do an image factory restore. Upon reboot it brings up the following message:

It wants me to enter something at the command prompt. What I need to do?
I am attempting to restore from a system image, but keep receiving a boot manager error message: Status: 0xc000000e Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible
The computer boots no problem normally, it is only when restarting to restore the system image.
i have changed my hard disk on my dell inspiron 1440 but and i have install windows 7 ultimate x64, but when i activate my windows, my laptop does not boot. its probably about my bios since i have install a new hard disk and i need to restore my factory image

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a few BSOD's and was going to do a system restore as I could not even get to post the dmp files up here coz the pc kept restarting with BSOD.
Upon starting the system restore to factory setting i got another BSOD. now the laptop only turns on to a black screen asking for windows 7 install cd which i do not have. can i jus get any windows 7 installation cd to reinstall.
I get a failure notice when I try to restore from the image saying that I don't have a valid drive to restore to. I am imaging from a 500 Gig and trying to restroe to a 750 Gig that I am putting into to replace the 500.
Ghost 14 is not compatible with Windows 7.
Just a little follow-up info:
I am using the same computer only trying to upgrade the HD.
I am using Windows 7 Pro RTM (Legitly).
I don't want to go through having to rebuild everything from scratch again.
I am putting the 500 in my camera monitoring system.
I have taken the following 3 steps so far: 1) I've created identical partitions on the 750 to match the 500 2) I've deleted all partitions 3) I have ghosted the Windows 7 partitions to these partitions (setup old Vista Drive and imaged the Windows 7 partitions).
No luck so far.
I am getting a failure notice while trying to restore to a new HD (going from a 500 to a 750).
The message tells me that I don't have a valid HD to restore to.
The image is on a 1.5 TB and the primary disk is the 750.
Any ideas?

The simple situation is this: I have one simple NTFS boot disk that failed months after system image backups to my other internal HDD. So then I replace this boot disk w/ a new one. So Am I able to restore the system image from the HDD onto to the new boot disk?

Now that I want to re-image, I reboot as requested, wait for it to load, and Windows says it can't find my backup, "if it is on a network, close this window , type the network location."Putting in the network location does nothing, I'm just returned to the screen where it would list the backup image if it had found it, but there's nothing there.Thinking perhaps my NAS was the problem I copied the image onto a portable hard drive, but after rebooting into the restore program, Windows 7 doesn't find the USB drive.

How can I move my factory image over to my SSD so I can restore my computer if i need it later on. I have the Windows 7 CD but no driver's or anything else. View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday morning I started my laptop and it was frozen at the Acer screen. After I restarted a few times I called acer tech support. Via remote access the tech support agent was able to see that, even though I have McAfee installed, my computer had trojans and a lot of files had been affected. He told me he could fix it but it would cost $200 which I can't afford right now. So I ordered the windows 7 reinstall disc and hung up. I decided to try doing a system resore back to factory settings. I began the restore and had no problems. Then when the computer went to automaticaly restart it continued to remain stuck on the acer load screen but I found that if I left it alone for about 45 minutes it would automatically restart and continue with the restore process, adding files and whatnot. My newest problem is that the restore is stuck. It started loading Office 2010 and has been doing it for 12 hours now.

I have an Acer Aspireone D255E Netbook, with Windows 7 Starter. I decided I wanted to restore the computer to factory default, and keep my User files. It ran all the way through until it said "Setup is starting services" then it said "Windows can not install this software to this hardware." This confuses me because it was working all the time, I never updated any hardware. So it gave me an option to restart the system and I do so. Then if I do nothing, it just continues looping to the "setup is starting services" screen and then the reboot. I tried pressing F8 to run system restore again, and get it back to factory default, but system recovery is not an option anymore. I tried loading in safe mode, and it wont load. I tried other options on the F8 boot menu and it all basically said to restart. This netbook doesn't have a cd or dvd drive. I do not have any flash drives. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could restore to factory default without purchasing a new dvd, cdrom, or flash drive? Or perhaps an alternate way to load DOS so I could delete whatever step its at on the installation so it could put the "Repair windows" option so I could run the factory restore?

View 1 Replies View Related my laptop (Compaq Presario CQ61) contracted a virus that did some heavy damage. So I go into the boot up menu and decide to restore the laptop back to the factory settings, just to be on the safe side so I can start afresh.Now it's on a screen that says 'Factory image recovery preperation' and it's currently copying files to restore the hard drive, but it's froze on 58%.
Last night I did the same thing and left it overnight while I went to bed, and when I woke up this morning it was still froze on 1%.
Edit: The loading bar is still there, but the place where '58%' was has gone. My mouse is moving but very slowly.
Edit: My laptop is very warm and I can't feel or hear the fan... it's going to overheat. I've had to turn it off.
I have got Dell Studio 1558 Laptop. When I received my laptop, the full 480 GB was in a single drive and using device manager i splitted into 3 drives. Now, if I use Dell Restore to factory image option should it have some effect as the original c drive when shipped is currently less. Just want to know this as I will be using this feature.
