View 1 RepliesI did a clean install of windows 7, and things are not responding and hanging. My computer used to be a hp pavilion p71142 I kept the processor, dvd drive, ram, and hard-drive from it, but did my own build. Before I did my own build, I was having trouble with windows. It was slow and it got to the point where windows would not load/boot. I did a fresh install before I started changing hardware, but still slow. The only thing changed when my computer was hp is the graphic card and psu. But those worked fine for several months with no problems. I have got to the stage again now, where windows 7 will not load, and I can't even get into startup repair.
View 34 Replies View RelatedI use an Asus g50vt., Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Recently I've encountered a problem with my DVD drive. My DVD drive: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T50L ATA Device. I'm trying to install an application, in this case Guild Wars 2. Things are going smoothly until the installation freezes. If I try to interact with the DVD drive via My Computer, Windows Explorer freezes up and I need to end the process and start it up again. The disk will not eject from the drive. If I try to reboot, it freezes on boot-up and I need to turn the computer completely off and on again for it to work. Once it boots up, it's returned to normal. If I try to reinstall Guild Wars 2, the whole issue repeats itself.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI use Windows Ultimate 7th I have a problem because it started to appear on the desk as a message content: "Windows Explorer is not responding". "Windows can try to restart the Program" And then:
1. Close the program.
2. Wait for the Program to respond.
What should I do?
Intermittenly I get the "windows explorer not responding" this will happen about every 5 minutes for weeks then all of a sudden stop for several weeks. One weird side issue is I have two accounts on my computer, my wifes and mine.At times it will only be occurring on one account or the other. I am back into the phase of it occuring.I checked the "record problem steps" with windows and find this common error each time it occurs.

I got rid of the Windows drivers and went straight to the Intel site for the drivers.....issue remains. Tried a complete power cycle of the router and modem....issue remains (No other computers are having the DNS issues, wired and wireless). I disabled the Bonjour Service (mDNSResponder.exe).issue remains. The is driving me nuts and I notice that the only way I can force the connection is to disable and enable the NIC

View 5 Replies View RelatedSince about 2 weeks ago when I boot up from the computer being shut down completely and I log on my computer wont respond when I click to open anything. Before this I have never had this problem so I dont know if its because of an update or maybe a driver issue im not sure. The only way my computer responds is if reboot it or if i just put it into sleep mode so it doesnt completely turn off.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWell I just did a factory restor on my computer because I couldnt get it to start up. Well afterwards it seemed like it was running just fine, until the next day I turn it on and the entire computer isnt responging (I could still move the mouse though). Well this would stay that way for about 30 seconds and then it would respond and I could click on stuff for about 5 seconds and it would go back to not responding. It seems like it does this until its been on for about 15 minutes (when it warms up it runs properly).

View 1 Replies View RelatedYo people. So it was a regular day, found a program online and created a restore point before installing... suddenly about two hours later while surfing the interweb boom!! Internet Explorer stop responding so I think "it's not so bad... it happans timw to time" but the only differents is that the message doesn't pop up, like windows doesn't even relize it! But continuing on, I right click on the taskbar to start task manager because clicking the exit button fails the taskbar AKA explorer.exe caught the same flu as IE. So now I can touch the taskbar so Ctrl+Alt+Del is left... screen turns black as always when I do the keystoke but it stays black. So I shut off my computer. Start-up was a little more slow and worked fine before I open IE and it starts all over again. I try restoring, scanning (later with various other antivirus) nothing found, memory test (normal), and everything else like uninstalling unused programs and fixing the registry with Registry Repair. I got Startup Delayer which helped with the slow Start-up but nothing eles. But sometimes like 1/5 times my computer boots up and i perfect like before but when I turn it off it happens again on the next start-up

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the Windows 7 RC 64-bit installed on my comp, and I have been using WMP12 for a few months now with no issues up until recently. It has been freezing constantly on me within minutes of starting a song from my playlist. After 2 minutes into a song, WMP12 will dim and I get a message saying WMP12 is not responding and needs to close. I do have a very extensive music playlist which I'm constantly adding more music to, so I am wondering if it's maybe too big for it to handle (about 20-30 GBs of music). [code]
View 7 Replies View RelatedI havent figured out why this happens since I reinstalled Windows 7. This only happens when I am going through the control panel. Here is what happens:If I have to uninstall a program, I will go to programs and features and click programs and features and explorer will just freeze then if I keep clicking, I get "This program is unresponsive - Close, Restart, etc" I always choose restart it and it reloads fine. The same things happens if I go to System or pretty much anything in the control panel.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Windows Explorer keep "not responding" everytime I boot up my computer and click "My Computer" icon. This happen after I install Auslogics Boostspeed and Wintools.net. I have uninstalled both software but the problem still there. I end the process (explorer.exe)via Task Manager and re-run explorer. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it doesn't, or need to re-run the process to make it work.
Then, I switch to Safe Mode. Windows Explorer runs fine. Now, I know something that is running on "services.msc" cause the Windows Explorer to crashed. I downloaded SlimComputer from Softpedia.com and run its Optimizer. I set it to SuperCharged and some of the services changed to manual. I restart my computer and the problem solve. I change the setting again to its original, the problem appear again, then change to SuperCharged back, the problem fixed. How to determine which process/services is causing the Windows Explorer to crashed?
I recently upgraded my existing PC with a new hard drive (WD 1TB Caviar Black), Windows 7 Ult x64, & upped my mobo to its max of 16 GB DDR3 RAM.I originally had problems after install with some of my partitions & hard drives not showing but everything worked itself out alright. However, now a new problem has cropped up, and I'm not entirely sure if its related to the original issue or if it is a whole new problem.Almost any program that I run will work for a time, but eventually stop responding. When I try to close the program, I will get a message from windows asking if I would like to end the process tree. This happens with everything, from Chrome to the League of Legends installer to Windows Explorer. If I hit yes, nothing will happen except for the "wait" cursor will appear, and my taskbar will completely disappear. It will usually catch up eventually, but I actually had to reset my computer during the LoL install, and Windows would not start up afterwards. I had to reinsert my Windows 7 disk and repair the installation.
Nothing I seem to do can fix this. All drivers are up to date, as are all Windows 7 updates. I upgraded from Windows XP, and tbh, at this point I'm regretting it.My system specs are as follows:[CODE]
I have been trying to fix my Windows live mail not responding. Some forums say that removing Windows Update KB2454826 fixes it. But I can't find this particular update. I have 138 updates, and this one isn't on the list. Does anyone have another fix? E.g., another update that could be causing the same problem? I don't want to uninstall all 138 only to learn that I uninstalled a critical one.
View 14 Replies View RelatedAfter uninstalling and attempting to reinstall my ATI Radeon HD 3450 AGP display driver I still only have the standart VGA display driver in my device manager. I tried to install my original drivers several times with no solution and even tried downloading the latest drivers from amd.com but nothing was solved. It all started because of a minor taskbar bug (taskbar ignored mouse until ctrl+alt+del was pressed) and on most forums I found posts saying that its the display driwer fault. It isnt. I still have the bug even though I have the basic driver. Eventually I d get over the bug but without the correct driver my video card is practically useless. Is there a way to fix this without having to reinstall the vhole system?
