i've been checking everywhere for some info and my problem doesn't seem like anyone elses. i just recently repartitioned my hdd usuing gnome partitioner and reformated to unformated to install windows 7. I've set my boot menu to boot off the disk drive, but when i put the windows 7 disk in it says to insert a bootable disk.
i have a question: Can you use a Vista Ultimate disk to boot into a Windows 7 recovery partition. What i am attempting is to fix MBR in windows 7 but i don't have a Windows 7 disk and no one i know has one. My 7 wont boot at all but it should with a recovery disk. So can i use the Vista disk to boot to 7's recovery options ?
somehow my hard disk partition became dynamic. i formatted system and insttaled windows 7 ultimate in the dynamic disk partition. from then onwards system is not booting. only black screen with cursor on the upper left corner of the black screen.
if i am not wrong windows 7 cannot boot with dynamic disk. i will have to go to the disk management and after conversion of dynamic disk to basic disk with deleting all the volumes (data). it is possible to boot with windows 7.
but system is not booting...not opening..so i cannot go to disk management.
hrad disk is showing some partitions with system reserved. except system reserved all the partitions are shwoing dynamic. and in only one partition formatting option and installing OS option is coming while i booting system with OS DVD.
reinstalltion through OS DVD is possble by booting through OS DVD. but in advanced option repartition option is not coming. the one partition in which i installed OS previously, only in that formatting option is coming. in other partition neither formating option is coming nor extend.
The 64 bit disk magically dissapeared and all I have left is the 32 bit disk.If I took someones Windows 7 Ultimate disk 64 bit and installed it using my Product key would it install?
I had a retail version of the genuine edition of Windows 7 Ultimate edition, but I threw away the disk upon moving. However I do still have the CD key for it.I'm wondering how I can do a reformat of the hard drive without a CD/DVD. If there's an official ISO file out there anywhere, I could just enter my CD key again.I have no way of getting to the desktop right now because of BSOD on boot.
My computer shows Disk Volume Error every time I run system maintenance. I tried Chkdsk, disk cleanup and disk fragmentation, but it did not work. Also, my Local disk C is reporting only 8 GB of free memory. But in realty it has 17 GB free memory. Even I could not extend my disk volume through Disk Management.
So, I need to know if I can install windows 7 x64 via direct boot when I start up my computer it is in ISO format. So like my default boot will be my DVD drive to install it. can I do that with it being ISO format?
I tried to add a new 1TB HDD into my computer. not realizing what i was doing wrong. i just threw it in there no software or anything. now my PC is getting "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER" and i no longer have my windows 7 disk. is there anything i can do ?

I have an external 3TB hard drive, USB. I used a mac to partition it, 2.25TB is HFS+ (Mac OS extended - journaled) and the other is 490gb NTFS (to use on windows). It would not give me the option to use MBR (master boot record) so i used the GUID table. It works fine on macs, but windows tells me i need to reformat it. It is my understanding that most all 64bit versions of windows can read/write a GUID disk. I do not need to boot off of the drive. this is another addition to the list of "why i hate windows"
im usin 2tb segate new hard disk sir..in my system i cant able to boot my os and also my hard disk...its showin that hard disk boot failure insert system disk press enter ...i restarted many times its sayin the same problem...in my gigabite mobo bios my hard disk is not get detected sir....the problem is that wen im installin the new os for 2nd time its all went nice only sir but at the completion of the os it wil ask for the user name and password but in my system its frozen sir fully of black screen and i cant able to do anythin so i restarted my system from that im gettin this error as hard disk boot failure insert system disk press enter.....that my new hard disk and all of my data is in that hard disk only..this problem arises wen im installing the os for 2nd time sir.
I woke up this morning, and I found that my computer was displaying this message"Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter". There are a ton of needed documents on the computer, and I'm hoping that they can be saved some way.
I've been having this error even after reformatting and reinstalling Windows 7 on my desktop. I've done reformatting / reinstalling Windows 7 several times, yet the problem still occurs. I'm thinking of my HDD as being corrupted or messed up. The problem occurred after I accidentally hit the CPU when I was stretching my foot. The screen froze after that. Upon rebooting it, 'Disk boot failure, Insert system disk and press enter' occurs. After I entered the DVD installer of Windows 7, the screen just hangs.
I have been having a bit of trouble with windows 7 lately, namely that it won't start up right. When I boot from the drive normally, it gives me the classic "BOOT DISK ERROR: INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER" message.
However, I soon discovered that if I boot from the Windows 7 cd and do not boot from it (By ignoring the "Press a key to boot from CD or DVD..." Windows 7 boots up fine. I've tweaked my BIOS over and over, but the same problem persists. The drive is brand new and fine. What can I do?
My friend bought a new PC and needed to put am OS on it. He put in the W7 disk and the error message 'disk boot failure insert system disk and press enter' appeared before installation was shown. He has tried changing around BIOS and it also recognises the hard drive and DVD/ CD ROM drive. Here is the specification he was given:Case : CIT Reaper Black Mesh fronted Tower CaseMotherboard : Gigabyte 78LMT Motherboard TechnologyCPU : AMD Bulldozer FX 4170 4.2ghz 8mb CacheHard Drive : 1tb Sata Hard DriveMemory : 8gb DDR3 1600mhz MemoryOptical Drive : 24x Dual Layer Sata DVD WriterGraphics Card : Nvidia Geforce GTX 650 2gb GDDR5 With HDMIPower Supply : 750 Watt Branded Power Supply Also, he has tried booting BIOS in different order
When starting the computer, I keep getting "Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter". Nothing works other than putting in the boot disk and hitting the restart button on the tower. Then it will boot up and run fine. But how do I stop it from having to have the disk in order to load? Checked in the BIOS and the hard drive is the first load.
2 months ago, I installed windows 7 pro with no problems at all. Fast forward to today, I decided to reformat because the boot would get stuck in the middle of trying to boot into windows, it wouldn't flash the windows logo. I didn't think much of it so I just reformatted. This is where my real troubles began. So I reinstall windows 7 pro with no problems (the boot disk is in there the cd drive the entire time) I install my programs and what not and install my updates. All 100% Fine. Then I take out the boot disk and restart again... and I get this error message saying:
Client Mac Address: 00 30 1B BC1F59 GUID: 12973077-FFFF-FFFF-FFFF-FFFFFFFFFFFF DCHP....
Then I press escape, then it says this:
PXE-EA0: Network Boot Canceled PXE-M0F: Exiting Nvidia Boot Agent DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER
So the first time I got this error, I just thought, Oh, something must have happened no big deal, so I reformatted again and again. But I kept on getting the same exact error. It'll load into windows just fine when my install disc is in the cd drive, but when I take it out, that error pops up. *My windows is authentic, each time I have been able to validate my copy.* I have tried installing from my hard drive and from the install disc with same error.*
Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit on desktop PC has been running fine for several months (legit dvd and serial number). It had a pretty old NVidia 6600 graphics card so I decided to replace it with a newer card as the latest 64 bit drivers didn't seem to work and so I reverted to the old drivers some weeks ago and all has been fine since.
On installation of the new graphics card the PC wouldn't boot. It goes to the black screen with the coloured widows logo and wouldn't go any further ( I know the card is OK it came from my sons PC). I tried a repair boot without the cd and that didn't do anything either. I reverted to the old graphics card. Still wouldn't boot past the black screen as above BUT if I leave it I can hear the chime as Skype starts so it would appear as though Windows is actually booting but not displaying the desktop.
I have tried a repair from the boot menu and from the original dvd and they just hang on the blue graphics screen with the birds and the white squiggle. I therefore decided that I would do a reinstall and a new install now hangs at the same screen. If I try a boot to safe mode the boot hangs at classpnp.sys.
Ideally I don't want to do a reinstall but I will if I have to and if I can get it to reinstall.
I bought an Acer Aspire 4530 from an acquaintance that when I got it had an unverified version of Windows 7 Ultimate on it. He found a keygen and it worked to verify it. The next day it was running super slow so I restarted it but it came back with status: 0xc000000f which I googled and its a boot issue. I do not have a disk for it and all the repairs I have came across require a disk to fix the issue. My boyfriend has a disk but its for Windows 7 home premium. Will that work? Both the laptop and my boyfriend's desktop are 64 bit.
I tried to completely uninstall an expired deep freeze in my Computer, I went to registry and deleted the Folders named deepfrz after I rebooted my Computer it won't get past the Starting windows message it stops and flashes and I can see a blue screen then it tries to boot up again, the process repeats over and over, I tried doing a system restore by pressing F8 and the Startup recovery can't fix the issue either, is my Hard disk corrupted?
My mother has a relatively new Dell notebook, but she did some rather stupid things with it. Nothing that I can't fix with enough time and effort, but I figure that reinstalling from scratch would yield a better result and probably take less time too. Besides, it's never a bad thing to reinstall Windows every few years anyway in my experience. However, here's the problem: my parents never bothered to order/make recovery disks. I do have a Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade disk laying around though (upgrade disks contain the full OS, right?). However, the laptop itself came with Home Premium and as such, the activation key on it is also for HP.So, can I just pop in the Ultimate disk, yet enter the HP code and end up with a regular HP edition? I vaguely remember that entering an Ulltimate code while installing from a Home Premium disk results in a full fat Ultimate, but does it work the other way round?
I have tried to boot into normal mode and it starts but then freezes on the Windows logo, I have also tried last good configuration with the same effect, after this I tried all the versions of safe mode and every single one hangs when loading the drivers; as a result, I decided to try a system repair from disk, I boot from the CD and it loads files and then......it also hangs on the Windows logo.
Can't boot into Windows 7 Ultimate with bitlocker anymore....I know the boot sector is messed up more than likely...I have done all the tricks with bootsec.exe and the commands ..I even tried startup repair it repairs but still doesn't boot ....The bitlocker key is on a usb hard drive and is connected but still the error.
I found this site through a google search of "long boot times". Recently and all of a sudden, my boot time has went from about 30 seconds to about 3 minutes, with a long delay between windows logo and welcome screen. I found cluberi's tutorial on obtaining a boot log and I've done so.
On both PCs after a successful clean Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, starts windows for the first time etc etc ask me to select windows update setting, goes into windows desktop then does a auto restart (proper logging off restart etc). At this point, after bios screen when it attempts to boot from hdd the PC just resets inself and goes back to POST, over and over again. I've tried using only one stick of ram, tried using VGA to do a clean install again instead of DVI, tried changing my RAM to a lower clock speed, every other bios setting is default. I also tried updating to the latest bios and again did a clean install (delete and create partition) even tried installing x86 instead of x64.
I have upgraded a machine from an Intel motherboard to an ASUS P8H61-M LX. New CPU and RAM. Before installing the new hardware I changed all drivers to standard drivers, did a system image to an external HDD. After installing the new hardware Windows hangs with 4 little colored dots on the screen (start of win banner?). A safe mode boot stops at classpnp.sys. The same thing happens if I try to boot from the WIN CD. I went back to the old hardware setup and tried to do a sysprep, but that failed with fatal error, but no more info. The HDD is set to IDE, using a PS2 mouse and keyboard. I cannot do a clean install as there is some very old software on the machine.
