My son downloaded Windows 7 Recovery (virus) this weekend. I have Windows 7. I searched for the solution and it was suggested in a forum Grindsoft Trojan Killer.I downloaded that and it worked. It showed the hidden documents, programs and photos etc. I then ran Windows restore for a date much before the virus and that restored a almost normal computer. It seems I can do everything...have not checked everything but so far everything looks good but I am unable to do a Windows update.I get an error code 80070005. It acts like it is unable to access Microsoft. I have gone to the control panel-trouble shooter-windows update and it said it repaired it but still the same problem. I have done many scans with Malwarebytes, Online Norton and more of the Grindsoft Trojan Killer and everything comes up clean. I seems that I am hopefully down to this windows update problem
I ran VAIO Recovery Wizard in VAIO Rescue Tool(s) and it shows an error with error code 320.In here it says:320(When using the Recovery discs)Recovery Discs and Optical Drive(Try using F10)320(When using F10)RAM and/or HDD(See the important notes above)I ran the diagnosing program in VAIO and it tells me there's an error in the HDD. Now I'm running a further diagnosis but now what can I do?
I just got some virus that im assuming is either scareware or ransomware that prompted me to buy some windows 7 recovery bs. I managed to remove the virus, i think so at least, with Malewarebytes software but now all my programs are gone.
cleaning up this virus to restore my program folders that are showing up as empty.Unfortunately, I ran a temp files cleaner and I no longer have the smtmp folder. Is there a way for me to restore this? There is no way I am going to restore all those shortcuts manually!
my entire sunday has been consumed by this virus....I followed instructions on another topic but have not been successful in restoring my programs menu.
here is my log:

A client of mine (I'm an IT summer temp in a production facility) recently contracted the Windows 7 Recovery virus and contacted me to fix it. Having encountered the XP version recently and resolved the issue, I was able to easily remove the virus and associated rootkit. The difference this time was that unhide.exe failed to restore the start>all programs menu shortcuts, although it did manage to restore the folder structure. I read through and followed the instructions of another thread here: [URL]. Which did not resolve the issue. The output given by SystemLook is as follows:

A week ago my computer crashed after my dad used it. It ran a System Fix which was a virus and a program I don't remember installing. Now when it boots it has a black screen that says Windows Memory Error and gives two options, Start Windows Recovery or Start Windows Normally. When he realized what he had done he tried the recovery tool first. It had a Windows is Loading files bar that didn't move at all so he left it on all night. It never moved, so he tried option 2 it brought up the 5 Recovery tools none of them did anything helpful. We tried using safe mode, it doesn't work either, brings back to useless Windows Recovery tools. We went out and Bought an OEM since the person we bought this from forgot to give us the Install Discs, We got to Repair Your Computer option below Install, it said our version of windows wasn't the right version for the OEM so it was a waste of $200. Now I am stuck and out of ideas. I've hooked the harddrives up to our old Windows XP and virus scanned, check disced, and backed up them. how to recover and repair without reformatting/wiping the HDD?
i need the driver for windows 7....error code 28.My laptop is a philips x58......please help....the message i get is Mass Storage Controller Driver not installed
I've gotten to the point where I need to just reinstall windows completely on my Asus G74SX (too many problems, I want to start fresh.). I encounter an error 1029 with Asus's recovery disks that I made when I had windows working: it says it is recovering all the way to 100% then doesnt work. I am in the process of trying it again so I'll see if it actually managed to wipe my hard drive like it said it was doing, and maybe if it did actually work and reinstall windows. However, I'd like to be able to get into the recovery partition because I would prefer restoring it with Asus as they recommend me to. However, when I hit F9, their target to get there, it doesn't do anything and just reloads the boot screen, with the Asus logo on it. I don't have an actual Wndows recovery CD so that's not an option, and at this point since my hard drive has likely been wiped by these recovery DVDs, I don't think going into Ubuntu and fixing the MBR will do me much good anymore. It may be worth noting that before I last restarted, I marked the Windows partition as active because of a tutorial here, making it so that recovery partition isn't active anymore.
I'm having a major virus/malware issue as my McAfee firewall protection stopped working suddenly. Called McAfee to reinstall the virus software and they were unable to install it. They said that since my Windows Update feature is not working (there is a big red X and updates are not downloading and installing) the McAfee installation is failing. Asked me to fix this issue first and then try McAfee installation.
In the last few months I have been getting error messages in my Yahoo mail account. It will not go to next email and returns an 'Error Code 5' or recently an 'Error Code 15'. It says "Sorry for the inconvenience. You have stumbled upon an unexpected, temporary problem." This happens every other email. What are these codes and why is this happening?
I opened up the cmd prompt and took a look under the hood, I recently switched to 7 so im not sure if a lot has changed but I noticed right away that I had 2 csrss.exe programs running. I tried Googleing, and got a lot of mixed results, some people say its normal, others say delete both because its a virus (har har har). These are also the same people saying to delete sms and system 32 it seems.I have got one thats listed with a session name as a survive for session 0 eating 5k memory and another listed as console for session 1 eating 8k.
i recently got a computer from my aunt, and decided to put windows 7 on it. Before I installed it, I put in a Geforce 8800 graphics card and a (2nd) cd rom drive. After 20 failed attempts to install windows 7 (it kept freezing at the completing installation part) it worked after i disconnected the new graphics card and one of the hard drives. Now, however, i keep on getting periodic blue screens with the following error messages : Memory Management, and PFN_List Corrupt. I ran a memory diagnostic and it said that the memory is fine. What is wrong with my computer? I also ran a system repair thing from the windows 7 disk, and it came up with this error: System File Integrity Check and Repair Error Code 0X490
My Hardware is:
AMD Anthlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ 2 Hitachi HDT725032VLA SCSI 320 gb hard drives Nvidia Geforce 8800 GS Graphics Card 3gb of system memory
I am using Windows 7 32-bit Premium. I'm trying to run a Batch file with several dll's, and I'm getting this error:Banner: Error Occurred - Add LicenseBody: Unable to enumerate resources. Error Code: 15106I have tried to google this, but I haven'tAlso, if I even try to register any of the Batch's DLLs manually, I get this error:Banner: RegSvr32body: The Module "C:Bla Bla Bla...." was loaded but the call to "INSERT DLL HERE" failed with error code 0x80028011c.For more information about this problem, search online using the error code as a search term.
i downloaded a disk image iso file for one of my programs. i mounted and ran the image. the setup.exe file runs fine but when i make any selction i get a "error calling shell execute. error code: 5" message and the program terminates.i tried it on a xp machine and also burned a cd but am still getting the error message
It ran in safe mode with networking so I was able to email all of the files I wanted WHEW! That was until today and now it won't load to any screen except for the screen that gives you the choice to repair, or to run windows normally. Either one brings me to the login screen but the login never comes up. The screen just sits there with the mouse. I have a dell inspiron, that we purchased 1 year and 1 month ago ergh! This means that the warranty is out. I have read so many forums, and tried to launch repair and it just won't do it. Dell won't send me a new recovery disk because I don't have the warranty anymore, but rather as others have stated Dell states that it is the hard drive as an easy answer. I don't believe it. Why does it load in safe mode, well except for today? I just need my laptop to be working. It is a life line in my house. From the things I have read on here it could be a virus or malware issue that is corrupting the boot sector. But I don't know what else to do about repairing it. The installation cds are not working. I have used f8 to load from the disk drive and it got to the starting set up and stopped.
I have a dell computer on windows 7, I am getting an error code 0X8007045D i also cannot boot my computer to the home screen, it takes me to the system recovery options i did the command chkdsk /f /r but it tells me "windows cannot run disc check on this volume because it is write protected what do i do now?

When trying to update windows get the following error code 80072efe, have ran virus and spywre scan's without a cure, also have disabled firewall but still unable to update. Anyone experienced this problem and if so how did you overcome it
I have a dell 1525 laptop...and i was tryin to install windows 7 ..but at the file extraction point a blue screen appears with the following error code 0x80070570 ..
I am running windows 7 OS. Updates are available, however when I try to update all updates install except one for Security. Net framework and I get an error 643. It suggested installing windows update readiness installer, which I did, but I get the same error.
This has been going on for a couple of weeks. Every time I shut down my laptop, it TRIES to Update. I finally realized that something is wrong. I went into the Update folder in Control Panel and looked at the "update history" to find that every time I shut down, the update attempts have "failed".The error code is 66A. I tried the "Windows Fix-It" and it didn't work. I don't know what to try next. The three update items are for NET.Framework 4.
