When i got home today didn't my computer work, my girlfriend has been the last one using it. So don't know how things were just before the shutdown or anything.when i turn on the computer i get to the screen where "touch bios" is and where i can see the options like Bios settings, boot menu, xpress recovery.but i cant press anything, and after about two seconds on that screen the PC shuts down again. The keyword lights up so there is a responds on it, but just doesn't work to press anything before it shuts down.I've got BSOD upto several times a day for a few months time.believe that my computer is affected by some virus or something is delaying my computer. might be an combination of several things.I got no external things hugged up to the stationeer computer right now.it is a windows 7 x64 machine.
usually when i get issues i can access advanced boot up or bios, but can neither in this case..I wonder if it might be a hardware issue.

last night I did the 13 required updates for my Windows 7. So, when I awoke this morning, in my attempt to load up into Windows 7 again, it failed, I tried again at least 6 time, and still nothing. It would get to "starting Windows" then go to a Grey screen.

Why doesn't my computer boot up after power failure? The bios is set to boot after power failure. I have to jump start the motherboard to get it to boot. What causes this to happen? Is it a power surge? I can unplug and plug the computer back in and have no problem booting. If I have a power failure, no Boot. The last power failure was a sudden off no "on-Off" fluctuations. I want an explantion so I can prevent it from happening. Is a UPC the only solution?

Yesterday while watching an online baseball stream and simultaneously browsing facebook, my computer randomly gave me an error message. Unfortunately I don't remember what the message was about. What I do remember is that I immediately opened a new firefox tab and searched up the error. I clicked on the first link, and the OP was talking about how he had received the error and shortly after, his computer shut down. Almost on cue, my computer crashed and restarted itself.Ever since then, I can't boot up my computer properly.I turn on the computer, I see the first two screens that I always see (BIOS screen and then the 'Detecting eSATA drives' screen). After this it goes to the third screen, which I also always see. But this is where the problem is.First it loads all that code crap that I never understand. Then, like always it gives me these two lines: 'Verifying DMI Pool Data....'And then 'Boot from CD'. This always happens. But regularly from here it just boots up and goes to the Windows loading screen. Now, on the same screen, it starts giving me error messages.

PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting NVIDIA Boot Agent
[code]....
Before, I was also getting the error message 'PXE-E53: No Boot Filename Received' prior to the media test failure message. After I unplugged and replugged my internal hard drive (some forums were saying to check the cables for the hard drive) the first error dissapeared.I have a Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit OS. I bought the computer second-hand off a guy who was selling it online. He didn't have any of the CDs, so my copy of Windows 7 is burned (though I do have the CD still). Before yesterday it was working fine. All I want to do is to be able to get into the computer (Hard Drive) once, so that I can backup all my files and then I'd reinstall Windows 7 from scratch.

I have a compaq presario v2000. For the most part, my laptop screen says nothing like 'windows is non genuine', but there are some times when it does. The funny thing is , when I go to start, right click 'computer', click properties and see the computer information screen, the bottom part of that screen eventually says windows is activated, and after that the 'windows is not genuine message on the desktop goes away to reappear at a later date, maybe two or three days later

Last night, i noticed i had low memory on my C drive. so I uninstalled a few programs - games mostly and needless addons - and then restarted. After restarting, the laptop got stuck at the bootup screen, at about 70%, then persisted to say "operating system not found" repeatedly.
This morning, after turning it on, it now gets past this screen, but says theres a "SMART failure predicted" on on my Hard drive. It also says ahard drive fail;ure is imminent. It does this for a few minutes, and then gets 'stuck' again at 70% at startup.
So.. is this a problem with my HDD? Everything points to this, but I'm not sure of my next step? Do i need to reinstall windows (problem, seeing as i don't have an installation disc)

I have an ideapad Y530 that is currently experiencing audio issues.I recently upgraded from Vista to 7 Ultimate and ever since the audio only works about 1 and 10 times. I have found many posts on the net with similar issues but nothing exatly like mine. All speakers have been enabled, audio driver updated and every type of trouble shooting tried.Basically i start the computer, get the Lenovo boot-up jingle, then no sound. But every ten starts, or so, the sound works perfectly? The only other strange thing i notice is that if i plug in speakers and put the volume on FULL i can hear sound ever so faintly.Feels like some sort of conflict but i cannot find one. Its as if Windows 7 loads the driver sometimes and not others, but if so why is the sound faint when i plug in speakers? Should i open the laptop to search for physical damage between the motherboard and speaker connections?

Verizon Fios, Actiontec Router. Windows XP machines (wired) (2) never any internet loss whatsoever. Running the wireless from the Actiontec and also a Linksys that is on one of the ports. (distance issues) The Linksys always syncs up and both wireless systems work 100% all the time with either XP or Win 7 laptops.
Here's the issue: two wired desktops running Win 7 have intermittent internet drops. One is older, one brand new fresh out of the box. Turned off the power saver NIC card function on both, WOL disabled. That's not the problem because the internet losses occur sometimes after the machine is on for a few minutes, the PC does not sit long enough to go into power saver anyway. There's no rhyme or reason as they say when the loss will occur. Sometimes this will not happen for a day or more, other times it can happen after using the machine for just a few minutes. One thing I have been trying is to disable IPV6 then I can get the internet back, othertimes re-enable it to get the net back. Go figure. Again, disabling it will not fix the problem, however switching it on/off will. Disabling and re-enabling the NIC will only fix it sometimes, most instances that does nothing. There are different types of NIC cards in the machines, one uses a Realtec on board, the other uses Nvidea on board and a plug in NIC (brand?) all NIC cards/board performs the same. Also, when they DO work, if I let them boot for a while, usually they will be fine, but that's looking at a 10-15 minute boot up. (doesn't take an excessive time for actual boot-up but I mean just leave it alone for 10-15 min) The Actiontec has the most current update version, and is about two years old. Somehow these machines lose the internet portion but not the network portion. Such an annoying problem, even more so when I added a brand new machine and get the same issues. I would be willing to bet that if I ran them wireless there would be no issue, but that's going to slow down the dl/ul speeds that I get with a wired connection.

Got software restore. Can't start from disc. Changed boot order, nothing. f8, f10, f12,got my no where. Won't start in safe mode. I don't have the options that the instructions with the discs say I should have. Here are my options:
1. IDE1: Pioneer DVD-RW DVRTD10RS
2. IDE0: WDC WD5000BPVT=22HX2T1
3. Network Boot: LEGACY PCI Device
1. Goes to eRecovery and just sticks there with a blue spinning wheel
2. Goes to f8 menu with no option for recovery or repair. When trying to start normally it goes to a blue screen with an error message that is gone to fast to read. Restarts
3. Goes to black screen with some unreadable stuff except for the word "failure". Restarts

I have an Acer Aspire timeline computer I bought 2 years ago. This computer advertised great battery life, internal cooling, and all sorts of other cool things....unfortunately, it was all a lie. But enough about that, As of like 3 days ago, I noticed my computer would respond slowly and take forever to complete a shutdown. I thought nothing of it until I decided to scan it usingSuperAntiSpyware. It came back with 40 tracking cookies, which I deleted. Upon rebooting my computer, I noticed it was still running slowly. So I decided a system restore would be niceI tried the first availible restore date. That apparently failed. Then I tried several others, with no success. I kept getting error codes telling me that the system restore failed to extract the file. It said the disk failiure might have been caused by bad sectors....I have no idea what that means. Ive tried multiple restore dates, they all come back with the same message.
I do not have Norton on my computer ( I read this was part of the problem in many other machines with the same restore error, but just to make it clear, that is not part of the problem with my computer). I can only use my computer in safe mode, because the regular boot mode is wayy too slow and laggy. Also I have plenty space on my computer so it couldnt possibly be slowing down because its getting full or something.

System Spec:64 bit- I built the machine August 2010, I have not reinstalled the OS since. Full Retail Version of Windows 7.I have been experiencing problems with this machine since about a month after I built it in August 2011. At first I would get a BSOD just every once in a while. I am at architecture school and I didn't have time to address the issue, so I just kept a diligent written log of every time I noticed it happening. I have included that as an attachment. You'll notice that there was not an obvious trigger - it would not crash as soon as I opened something, or as soon as I tried to use the sound card. It would happen both while I was working in Adobe Illustrator, and when I left my computer idle to go grab a cup of coffee or something like that. I have included all the dump files I have as attachments.Recently, however, Windows has had trouble resuming. I can't figure out exactly what is happening because it hasn't happened while I was at my computer yet. But, pretty much every time I return to my computer after a 10 minute absence, I come back to a black screen with a blinking white underscore in the top left corner. I think it has something to do with the machine going to sleep and having trouble resuming windows.
Another clue, which I've researched a little bit, is that I think I heard a single beep the other day. Granted, I'm in a studio with 50 other people and there are cellphones, headphones tons of computer and all kinds of noise, but I'm sure enough about what I heard to include it here. The forums I checked suggested this was a problem with the RAM.Here is a list of the components from the NewEgg invoice:

Every since I connected a Windows 7 (64) laptop to our network, internet has become intermittent to other users. There seems to be a conflict of some kind in our LAN. DHCP is on in our ISP Router/Modem. And I haven't seen any IP conflict so far.

In the old place my PC was upstairs but had an ethernet connection to the router downstairs. In the new place I have to run it on the wireless. I have got a 2/3 bar connection to the router, and can stream to the Xbox without a problem, for the most part. The problem occurs (and it's becoming more regular) when I turn both bits of kit on and the PC (in the media centre menu) says the Xbox is connected but the Xbox says no connection can be found. It then lists the normal helpful suggestions, and what I have to eventually do is unlink them and re build the connection. When that is back, it works fine, but turn them off and have to start all over again.

My problem is that windows 7 won't start on my computer, it keeps saying "bootmgr missing, press ctrl+alt+delete to restart" (this is not 100% word for word but it is what it means), here is a little background of what is going on:So I bought a 500GB WD hard drive, the reason why I bought this new hard drive was because my dad's old computer (the one he gave me cause I needed one for school) did not come with one (he took his old hard drive cause it had his work in it). After that, I took just the my new drive to my friend's house to format the hard drive to NTFS format, and I made 3 partitions, 'x', 'y' and 'z', with 150GB, 150GB and 200GB respectively. After that, I downloaded Windows7 from a microsoft sponsored website for free (because I am an engineering student at a university), and I am 100% certain that this website is good because I have downloaded from it before and it worked perfectly fine on my mac (I installed windows 7 on my mac using boot manager).
I installed windows7 to this new hard drive (partition 'x'), and everything went fine, set up computer name, copy some school files into the new drive. Now here is the problem, when I take it home and try to run from my computer (with only this WD 500GB drive in it, it is the only one I got), it doesn't work, I googled some solutions and found out that I had to set one of the partitions as active, so I went back to my friend's house and set partition 'x' as active (the partition where I installed windows7, partition 'y' and 'z' are just to store files, maybe I'll install Linux in the near future). After that, I disconnected all of his hard drives with only mine left connected to the computer, nothing was changed in the Bios, when we try to boot up with only my hard drive in it, it says "bootmgr missing, press ctrl+alt+delete to restart", which makes absolutely no sense.I connected his hard drive back, and once we boot the computer it asks us which windows to boot from, we selected mine and it boots up just fine. I do not have the windows7 disk, I only have a downloaded file which is an .ISO image

My computer crashed while performing an update I think. I saw that it was performing updates so I went to do something else. When I came back computer was off. I tried to turn it on but it gets to the screen where I usually enter my password and stops there (before the login window appears)
Tried Launch startup repair but didn't work Tried Safe Launch but didn't work Tried booting from last known good configuration but didn't work Tried repair your computer but all I get is 'Windows is loading files' then it goes to the login screen but nothing appears. Can't find my install disk...
Sometimes before it crashes I see a blue error screen flicker but it's gone before I can read it.
Also ran a memory diagnostics tool. It says that no problems were detected but I can't see the actual results because they are displayed after I log on but I don't get there

I may have made a boo boo. I bought a used computer today without an HDD or an OS. I had an old XP computer that had two 1TB drives. I installed a legitimate upgrade of Windows 7 on the C: drive over XP and put it in the new computer. Now, it won't start, and startup repair does nothing. I don't have the XP disk since I bought the computer 7 years ago, and it disappeared since.

I have a M2N68+ with a AMD AM3 215 CPU, and had all sorts of issues with CTD, and BSOD's, been pulling my hair out, finally got disgusted and pulled the RAM out and checked the QVL list and it wasn't on there, as a word of warning, if you are having problems with the stability of the system, check the QVL list and see if you have the same problem. BTW my Gigabyte board runs rock solid no matter what memory I use, this is the last ASUS MB I'll be getting for a long time.

My friend was having problems with her computer. So I ran a few programs to check it out and clean it up.. (AVG, CCleaner, AntiMalware...) But then after running the last one and rebooting, the screen goes black once Windows starts to load. Then the mouse appears but still nothing. I tried safe mode and still nothing... Not sure what to do, but just gaining access to copy files to an external hard drive is important. I was planning to reformat anyways..
