its like WiFi devise disappead is there a way to repair it. i mean power issue windows issue never had happen before restore not working. but wouldn't it show devise still ? its like there no network card. how that happen from windows failing?

I can print from computer, I can copy from computer, I can scan and reprint BUT! I cannot scan and save to computer. attempting to scan to memory device causes the Message: no computer needed (!) press OK, message: Save Failure and Memory device not found.
I have a lot of pre digital camera photographs that I would like to scan and save.I have downloaded from HP an update but still no joy at scanning and saving.It has been suggested that the driver is OK but need Software to correct error?
I was normally using my computer, when I suddenly noticed one of my hard drives disappeared from My Computer. Checked the Device Manager, I get the following. Trying to initialize it throws up this error: Seems to spin just fine. Trying different USB ports failed, switching cables as well. Already tried a few programs. GetDataBack for NTFS throws up error 1117. R-Studio also fails, as does DMDE and MTY. My friend even borrowed me Microsoft DaRT (part of MDOP), but when I boot into it, it doesn't recognize the HDD at all, no matter how hard I try. Only my Windows 7 installation does.Anything I can do in this situation? I had a lot of important data on it, and it's not completely dead yet. Maybe I can still save it somehow, without haivng to pay one of those data recovery thieves...
View 9 Replies View Relatedi recently got a new hard drive in which the guy had to rewrite a partition on it. i updated all the drivers and for some reason i cannot install these two microsoft updates everytime i try it fails, and doesnt tell me why it fails, and when the hard drive and windows 7 was installed and it was working, all the memory on the local disk drive was taken up except for 200mb which is strange because it only had the OS installed and any windows essiantal programs.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHave recently purchased a small usb inspection snake camera with led light and when testing it plugged it into two desktops computers (one xp pro not sure of the other as it was a network work computer) It automatically loaded the drivers and brought up a screen automatically with the realtime image.(no driver disc came with it). However plugging into my windows 7 64bit sony laptop it signals a connection beep, loaded drivers automatically but wouldn't open or show up on my computer disc manager as an external usb source to click on. It does however show up on device manager as a usb camera and when I unplug and replug in it disappears and reappears so I know I have the right camera (not the lap top webcam inbuilt one that shows USB 2 Camera). Have tried updating drivers automatically and uninstalling it etc. Need it to work on the lap top so it can act as the movable screen for it?

I have gone done the following: 1. Same user names and password 2. disabled windows firewall and avg free. 3. Answered "On" to all private network selections. 4. Local security policy to classic 5. Shared files I want to access. 6. Home group named as workgroup
The computer comes up in the Networking and Sharing. When selected I get the screen Logon failure: unknown username or bad password. I have even had my ISP pro look at this and he cannot figure it out. Same thing has happened to me in vista. I am using new win 7 installs. I can map drives with ip addresses and access.

What causes this to happen? Is it a power surge? I can unplug and plug the computer back in and have no problem booting. If I have a power failure, no Boot. The last power failure was a sudden off no "on-Off" fluctuations. I want an explantion so I can prevent it from happening. Is a UPC the only solution?

Before, I was also getting the error message 'PXE-E53: No Boot Filename Received' prior to the media test failure message. After I unplugged and replugged my internal hard drive (some forums were saying to check the cables for the hard drive) the first error dissapeared.I have a Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit OS. I bought the computer second-hand off a guy who was selling it online. He didn't have any of the CDs, so my copy of Windows 7 is burned (though I do have the CD still). Before yesterday it was working fine.All I want to do is to be able to get into the computer (Hard Drive) once, so that I can backup all my files and then I'd reinstall Windows 7 from scratch.

View 3 Replies View RelatedLast night, i noticed i had low memory on my C drive. so I uninstalled a few programs - games mostly and needless addons - and then restarted. After restarting, the laptop got stuck at the bootup screen, at about 70%, then persisted to say "operating system not found" repeatedly.
This morning, after turning it on, it now gets past this screen, but says theres a "SMART failure predicted" on on my Hard drive. It also says ahard drive fail;ure is imminent. It does this for a few minutes, and then gets 'stuck' again at 70% at startup.
So.. is this a problem with my HDD? Everything points to this, but I'm not sure of my next step? Do i need to reinstall windows (problem, seeing as i don't have an installation disc)
I have an Acer Aspire timeline computer I bought 2 years ago. This computer advertised great battery life, internal cooling, and all sorts of other cool things....unfortunately, it was all a lie. But enough about that, As of like 3 days ago, I noticed my computer would respond slowly and take forever to complete a shutdown. I thought nothing of it until I decided to scan it usingSuperAntiSpyware. It came back with 40 tracking cookies, which I deleted. Upon rebooting my computer, I noticed it was still running slowly. So I decided a system restore would be niceI tried the first availible restore date. That apparently failed. Then I tried several others, with no success. I kept getting error codes telling me that the system restore failed to extract the file. It said the disk failiure might have been caused by bad sectors....I have no idea what that means. Ive tried multiple restore dates, they all come back with the same message.
I do not have Norton on my computer ( I read this was part of the problem in many other machines with the same restore error, but just to make it clear, that is not part of the problem with my computer). I can only use my computer in safe mode, because the regular boot mode is wayy too slow and laggy. Also I have plenty space on my computer so it couldnt possibly be slowing down because its getting full or something.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a projector on my network which has LAN connectivity for the purpose of emailing error messages (ie. lamp due to be changed). The connection path is as follows:Using cat5e, I've connected the projector to a 5-Port Linksys SD205 where there are other devices connected. The SD205 is connected to a 24-Port Zyxel via cat5e which is where all network devices meet.The projector is properly configured with IP information. I am unable to ping the projector through the network. The port to which it is connected gets a brief, intermittent flash. If I connect the projector directly to the Zyxel switch, I can ping it and access it via IE.I thought the same so I swapped it out with a 8-Port Linksys EZXS88W but still get the same results.Perhaps it is a quirk with Linksys, so I swap out the switch with a 3com and still the same results.Why would this device connect when directly connected to the ZyXEL but not when going through the Linksys SD205? What does the intermittent flashing light on the Linksys SD205 mean?

Anyway, I cant seem to figure out why/what this unknown device in my network map is? It shows up on all the computers that have the RC installed. I have attached a pic of this.

I installed Win7 Pro no hastles and updated it. Installed all the latest drivers etc.Left the PC while it was downloading something and came back to find the Network connection had disappeared. Restarted several times between loading on the newest drivers from Realtek. Each time I checked the device manager I was unable to locate the network device options. Each time i tried to re-install the drivers it would give me a message about "The Realtek Network Controller was not found. IF Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Please Plug the Cable". After doing some reading about it I tried removing the RAM and BIOS battery but to no avail. So I tried updating the UEFI from ASROCK, the existing version was 1.3 and I updated to 1.5. After doing that I was no longer able to load into windows. I read further that if windows had been installed with disk setting set to IDE instead of AHCI it would not work. I could not recall If I had enabled AHCI or IDE so I tried every combination I could come up with but no luck. I then tried to re-install windows but after it installs and reboots the pc it goes to the completing installation screen. I have some mouse control for a short period and then it seems to freeze. However the 3 little progress dots on the screen continue to move eternally. I tried rolling the UEFI version back to 1.3 and ran the same process again and the same result.
It's been several hours since i wrote that part. Since then I have managed to get windows 7 to install. The network device was recognised and worked correctly. I immediately disabled sleep mode for the network device. I updated windows and installed all the required drivers again. Then all of a sudden the connection drops again and no network device can be found. I then go and get the PCIe Intel network card from my previous machine which I had bought due to a faulty onboard network device. I disabled the on board LAN device in the UEFI and then shut down. Installed the Intel Network Card and rebooted. Windows does not find it even when I try and add a device.
Only other thing I can think of is to try and install on a regular SATA drive and see if it's some kind of conflict with the SSD.
I installed the RC on 3 computers. Setup the network as a "home network". skipped the homegroup because I have 2 XP systems I need to access. any way, in the network map on the 3 RC systems a unknown device is listed. For the life of me, I cannot figure out what/why ?? I have attached a pic....

I had a problem with the computer after a storm it turns to not have internet. After I checked and saw I could'n connect to internet through the modem with a broadband connection. Than checked Device Manager and there was not a network controller and everything was in order no question marks or yellow rectangles. Than tried to re install windows 7. After I tried to install the realtek driver for me LAN it show up the message The RealTek Network Adapter/Controller was not found.

It was acting funny and freezing sometimes then I got on another day and then it says No network adapter or driver is installed,also im booted off my internet and 3 of my usbs stopped working also. I've tried system restore the disc they gave me reinstalling the drivers. I finally got the usbs to work again but today they stopped.Under "Device Manager" there is no network options.I have done a boot-time scan along with and antivirus.

I checked my Device Manager and it seems that Network Adapter is missing instead there is 'Other Device' and below it was a 'Unknown Device' (with a yellow exclamation mark). I tried to install the driver but no luck via USB. I also did a system restore point but still no luck. I also tried to 'Scan for hardware changes' and still again, no luck... It's still unknown device.
I searched the Internet and they said the resetting the CMOS will solve this problem, is this true?

So I am using an external USB wireless adapter until I get the internal one to work. I tried to contact Acer but if the system is out of warranty, you can drop dead for all they care. I went to their support website and downloaded a driver for 'Wireless LAN Driver'. They have two different vendors. I chose Broadcom. It downloaded a zip file and I don't know how to install it.
