Win7 Setup ACPI Not Compatible?

Sep 13, 2009

I just burnt my Windows 7 install .iso to a DVD and rebooted my computer ready for the installation. I wait for the windows files to load, then when the bar is full, the screen goes to a blue screen with this message:

"...The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your system vendor for an updated BIOS.

Technical information:

*** STOP: 0x0000000A5 (0x0000000000001000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x00000000FFFFFFFF, 0x0000000000002040)"

Please help me sort this out, I have a fairly new computer that has been running XP SP3 without error thus far, and I am very keen to make the leap to Windows 7.

BIOS Not ACPI Compatible On Clean Install Of Windows 7?

Dec 12, 2010

I'm trying to install Windows 7 on a Compaq Presario 2100 laptop with 1GB of RAM and known good HDD. I ran memtest 86 for 12 hours with no errors. The BIOS sucks and has no options for ACPI, power management, or even serial/parallel port addressing, only boot order, system info, and password. The only device option in the BIOS besides video memory (tried every setting there) is legacy usb support (tried that too). I've been googling for 2 hours about this and found the whole F5 and F7 thing for XP, but I'm not sure if there's a similar option in 7 to only use Standard HAL. There's no Press F6 prompt in 7 install to press F7 at.

Windows Failed To Load Because Firmware Is Not ACPI Compatible

Jul 20, 2009

I had installed Seven on my Dell Dimension 4400 everything was all right and I was working successfully with that operating system but I had to upgrade my BIOS and after that it shows me error when I try to start system: 0xc0000225 (Windows failed to load because the firmware [bios] is not ACPI compatible). The same when I want to re-install Seven.. "Windows is loading files" and then I can see the menu when the problem is presented that I should choose repair system etc.. but it always ends with the same effect.I can do nothing. As I wrote above I wanted to upgrade bios but I stayed with the same version because of many reasons so I made upgrade but nothing has really changed. What's more, I'm sure that Seven may work on my machine - I used it!There's a map of my Bios: Documentation Shall you check what should I change?

Is Hd Video Card 4650 Compatible With Win7?

Nov 26, 2009

I installed a Radeon ATI XFX HD 4650 PCI, 2DDR, 1gig, video card into my vista desktop 3 months ago, and it worked perfectly. I only needed it to run 2 mintors a dvi and a vga. Yesterday I attempted to install Windows 7 and both screens went black. The device manager was unable to locate any video cards at all (the original had been removed).

I called Dell, and they told me that the card was not recognized, and therefore not compatible with "7". Then I called Radeon, and they said it was definitely compatible. The bottom line is I had to do a system restore to get back to Vista where all worked well again. i really need "7".

'the Bios In This System Is Not Fully Acpi Compliant Windows 7'

Feb 15, 2012

about an hour ago my screen froze and the computer became unresponsive. I found it a bit wierd that it turned off as soon as I pressed the power button as normally it takes about 5 seconds to do this. Upon rebooting (and going through the 'start windows normally' thing I got a BSOD saying something along the lines of:'the bios in this system is not fully acpi compliant windows 7'anyway I googled this and fiddled around in BIOS a bit discovering that my 'acpi 2.0 support' option wasn't enabled so I've changed this. Also some people seemed to suggest removing each RAM module individually and testing each one etc so I did this also to the same effect. After putting them both back in I no longer got the above error message but this one:'a problem has been detected:memory_management...etc'Rebooted again and the BSOD I now encounter and have ever since says:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
.
.
.
***STOP: 0x0000000A...

I've since tried booting safe mode, debugging mode etc but each time I do this the computer just reboots and takes me back to the 'do you want to start windows normally or start windows repair' screen. The second option ends up with either a non responsive black screen that can only be escaped by powering off or the above (last) mentioned blue screen. It might be worth noting; as my research suggests this is something to do with software drivers, that windows did a fairly massive update last night. Although I was able to run my computer for a few hours playing games/internet until this happened. Also in the past couple of months I have upgraded the RAM and GPU but the computer seemed to run fine with these for the weeks since.

Win7 (32bit) To Win7 (64bit) Upgrade Install Error

Nov 8, 2009

I have purchased and downloaded both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows7 Professional (no CDs or media here only download version)

I sucessfully upgraded from Vista 32 to Windows 7 32

Then I upgraded my hard disk (140Gb 500GB) and RAM (3GB to to 4GB)

Now I would like to go from Windows 7 32bit to 64bit

When I try and run the Windows 7-P-retail-en-us.x64.exe file it upacks the box then stops with this error:"We are unable to create or save files in the folder in which this application was downloaded. Please check the folder properties to make sure that you have security permission on the folder to write flies and that that folder is not read only".

I am the System Admin and I have full rights, and have moved the exe and the setup box files to My Documentsand I have modified the directory properties/attributes but I still get the same error over and over.

I searched the posts and some people stated one needs a clean install others say you can upgrade from any version so I am trying the upgrade here especially since the upgrade from Vista 32 to Windows 7 32 was smooth and did require all the extra work of a reinstall.

Reinstall Win7 32bit To Win7 64bit

Oct 28, 2009

I purchased the Win 7 Pro Upgrade 32bit via digitalriver, but I've been doing some reseach and probably should have selected the 64bit version.

- Any ideas how I can get the 64bit version?

- For those who ordered the 32bit back-up disc kit for the extra $15 and have received it, does it come with both 32bit & 64bit?

- I've already installed and activated the 32bit version, but when I go to install the 64bit version, will I need to / is there a way to deactivate my initial 32bit install or will this not matter?

Windows 7 ACPI Doesn't Detect Battery But Battery Is Working?

Aug 30, 2012

I have an ASUS K50IE laptop that i had for 2 years now. been working fine until 2 days ago.this problem has been bugging me for the last 2 days. here's why.my laptop suddenly didn't detect my battery. thought it was because my battery was dead. I searched the net on things to do before "throwing in the towel" on my battery and today i came across a blog where the instruction was to uninstall the Microsoft ACPI compliant control method battery driver. I did just that and my battery suddenly worked! well sort of. now here's where it gets all weird.every time i open my laptop i do the following:1. plug in AC to laptop.. turn on laptop.3. unplug AC.3. laptop runs on battery.4. log on to windows.5. battery icon shows up as an empty charging icon then shows the "Battery is not detected" icon again.please take note that my laptop is still ON and WORKING. so this means (MAYBE?) that my battery is working.

Creating Bootable USB For Win7 X64 Using Win7 X86

Sep 23, 2009

I'm currently running 32-bit Windows 7 (Professional, full version) on my laptop, and want to use this machine to create a bootable USB drive with 64-bit Windows 7 (also Professional, full version). I tried going through the steps that are available on various tutorials online, but I'm always tripped up while attempting to use bootsect to make the drive bootable; basically I get an error saying that I need to be using a 64-bit OS.

I don't have convenient access to a computer with 64-bit Windows Vista/7 (I work at an academic institution where all pubic computers have XP or Linux), so I'm wondering if there's any way to get around this and create a bootable USB for 64-bit Windows 7 via a 32-bit OS.

Not Compatible With Direct3D

Dec 29, 2008

I just installed windows 7 (build 7000) on my older dell inspiron 700m. Everything has been running smoothly except for what i believe is a video driver problem. My screen max res. is 1280x800 but it's limiting me to 1024x768 right now. I also can't do things like screen-savers, because when I try to enable them, instead of the preview, i get a message saying that it isn't compatible with Direct3D. I went to the dell website and looked around for the newest driver.

On my system info page, it says that I'm using a standard VGA graphics display.

I didn't have this problem on XP SP3

Any help would be great.
