View 1 Replies View Relatedim having a problem with my asus eee pc 1201n with a running wind7 x32 bit.I had to reinstall it due some technical issues and the most things run pretty smoothly. The only problem Im having is, I can use my fn keys to change volume and stuff. So I searched for the driver I needed and tried to install it, but I failed.I tried it with admin modus, other windows version but it just wont work.

This computer is not compliant with the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) standard. Windows must be installed onto a computer that supports ACPI. Contact your computer manufacturer for a BIOS update or install Windows on an ACPI-compliant computer.

I just did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on a Sony Vaio VGN-NS190J. I have gone to the Sony site and downloaded and installed all drivers, etc. Everything works great and there are no errors in Device Manager, but the audio device does not show up. When I go to Sound Properties it shows No Audio Device Installed. I downloaded both versions of the audio drivers from the Sony site, both Realtek drivers, and when I run them the install starts, I click few a few screens to start the install and I get the box saying it's checking the system and installing. The box then just closes and it never installs. I even connected to a Sony tech who took control and tried to fix it but was not successful. They said it must be a hardware problem. The sound was working fine on Vista before I upgraded to Win 7.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently had to reinstall windows 7 (64 bit) on my Sony Vaio (VGN-NW125J). I have a little ! on my Base System Device driver (shown below). If I try to have it find the driver it says no such driver found. I went to Sony's website and tried to find it.. didn't have any luck.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSony Vaio VPCEB25FG- motion eye webcam doesn't exist anywhere in the Device Manager - not under Imaging Devices, Sony Visual Communication Camera or Unknown Devices. It does not appear anywhere. The laptop does have a graphics card and I have the ATI driver running - I don't know if it a related issue though. The laptop also came with Arcsoft Wecam companion software and the webcam used to work perfectly fine with it.I don't know what has changed but now when I start this software, it comes up as the trail period for this software has expired. Surely, this software will not make the camera disappear all together from the device manager. All methods of re-installing the driver are useless for me because I can't even see the device.

I just burnt my Windows 7 install .iso to a DVD and rebooted my computer ready for the installation. I wait for the windows files to load, then when the bar is full, the screen goes to a blue screen with this message:
"...The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. Please contact your system vendor for an updated BIOS.
Technical information:
*** STOP: 0x0000000A5 (0x0000000000001000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x00000000FFFFFFFF, 0x0000000000002040)"
Please help me sort this out, I have a fairly new computer that has been running XP SP3 without error thus far, and I am very keen to make the leap to Windows 7.
If i remove/uninstall 'High Definition Audio Device' Driver in Device Manager will Windows Update find it again?Because im having crackling issues basicly the sound is really choppy and choppy basicly and it makes my ram go to 100%
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got a new laptop (well second hand) and it is supposed to be ACPI compliant. I cant install windows7 as it says it isn't ACPI compliant on the bios, i cant find anything in the Bios to enable it. It comes up with saying the Bios is not ACPI compatable, i have tried looking in the bios but i cannot find anything. When XP is installing, you can press F5 to select ACPI but i cant, just STANDARD PC.
