I'm trying to connect my IBM SL510 laptop to my SONY Bravia TV. I've seen online that an S cable is required. I thought I could use an HDMI cable. Also, I don't see an S cable port on my laptop.
my Sony Handycam DCR-HC96 is not automatically recognized by my Windows 7. Troubleshooting asks for installation of Sony USB device driver. Official Sony page asks for 29.99 for that which seems too expensive.

I just did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on a Sony Vaio VGN-NS190J. I have gone to the Sony site and downloaded and installed all drivers, etc. Everything works great and there are no errors in Device Manager, but the audio device does not show up. When I go to Sound Properties it shows No Audio Device Installed. I downloaded both versions of the audio drivers from the Sony site, both Realtek drivers, and when I run them the install starts, I click few a few screens to start the install and I get the box saying it's checking the system and installing. The box then just closes and it never installs. I even connected to a Sony tech who took control and tried to fix it but was not successful. They said it must be a hardware problem. The sound was working fine on Vista before I upgraded to Win 7.
I recently had to reinstall windows 7 (64 bit) on my Sony Vaio (VGN-NW125J). I have a little ! on my Base System Device driver (shown below). If I try to have it find the driver it says no such driver found. I went to Sony's website and tried to find it.. didn't have any luck.
Sony Vaio VPCEB25FG- motion eye webcam doesn't exist anywhere in the Device Manager - not under Imaging Devices, Sony Visual Communication Camera or Unknown Devices. It does not appear anywhere. The laptop does have a graphics card and I have the ATI driver running - I don't know if it a related issue though. The laptop also came with Arcsoft Wecam companion software and the webcam used to work perfectly fine with it.I don't know what has changed but now when I start this software, it comes up as the trail period for this software has expired. Surely, this software will not make the camera disappear all together from the device manager. All methods of re-installing the driver are useless for me because I can't even see the device.
I've just installed a new hard disc drive to my sony vaio model pcg1111m and then installed windows 7 enterprise now i have lost my base system device drivers?
My issue is that I have a usb device that when connected to my Windows 7 machine works just fine, however, when I connect it to a usb hub it does not. When connected to the hub, the device is detected by windows and goes from unknow device to the actual device name and the light on the device lights which it doesnt do if not installed properly.Has anyone else seen anything like this? Its not that the hub isnt working or that the device cannot be installed. Programs that interact with the device simply cannot when the device is hooked up to a hub.
I am unable to my sony viao vgn-nr21s because of its screen has failed to show any thing meaning full. Please send us any reasonable advise to handle the situation Robert
I am using hotel wifi network and was able to use it quite nicely. But suddenly my network started showing "No Internet Access" though it was connected. Diagnostics gives an error "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS Server) is not responding." I am still able to connect to same wifi properly with my other laptop.
I am in the process of configuring a new HP Z820 workstation. This thing is a beast and absolutely love the power. Just recently I started getting a strange device connection sound playing at login/startup. Just after the windows start up chime I hear the second device connect sound. I have nothing connected differently than I did a few days ago but all of a sudden this morning I now hear it. No USB HD's or flash drives connected.
I was just wondering if anyone knew of a way to figure out what Windows was connecting at login? Heard Event viewer mentioned somewhere but no idea how to use this or where to look.
1. I bought an ASUS K52 laptop. It has a 500 GB drive and a Win 7 x64 Home premium OS. 2. And then I install Windows 7 x86 3. Now I want to back Windows 7 x64 from Hidden partition but when I ran recovery (pressing F9), it just stuck, didn't want to work and then returned an error message with "cannot connect do a device on your computer".
I thing MBR is corrupted. How to repair that and how can I make the ASUS recovery part work? I tried startup repair but but nothing seems to work.
