View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 x64 Pro. Well I have been going fine with my Sony DCR -PD170 firewired to my PC. I plug it in and it pops up asking me if I want to the whole or part of the video and so on. Then I let Windows Update load the SP1 service pack and it will not load. So I go to my laptop that is Windows 7 HP x64 that also went to SP1 and it works! So I look at its drivers and they are "msdv.sys" & "ksthunk.sys". I try copying them to the same local in the desktop and no good. I try other folders like windows, Sys32/drivers/ and so on but to no avail. I even direct it to them on my desktop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHave a new camcorder, the videos from which I wish to record on a DVD for posterity and sharing.Apparently there are several modes that my PC asks about before making the DVD.I read, somewhere, that for the "best" pix quality, you should tell it to make a "Data Disk," and not one of the picture options.
View 9 Replies View Relatedi have an old-school Sony DCR-TRV103 camera that has digital recording on hi8 tapes. I'm trying to transfer the videos from the tapes to my laptop. One laptop is running Windows XP with a firewire port and the other is an ultrabook running Windows 7 (usb ports only).I'm looking for the most inexpensive way to be able to transfer videos to the laptop. As far as I can tell, the video camera only has a firewire out. I have tried connecting the camcorder directly to my windows XP laptop, and am able to see the camcorder, but I am unable to get the video playing. Is there someone who can tell me step by step how to transfer the video and what the best laptop to use for this?

Win 7 Enterprise, 8Gb RAM, 1Tb HDD, AM3+ processor running at 4000, 3 port firewire card, 2 monitors, the graphics system runs DX10 no problem, 8 1Tb usb HDDs running from powered hub. I have 3 camcorders all using the same video cassette type (Canon, Panasonic, Sony). I can see each on the devices and printers window and the IEEE 1394A devices are reporting no errors. Have tried each separately, all refuse to be seen by the software.Using either Adobe 2 (yes I know its old but it works) or MS Live Movieplayer each does not see any of the cameras. The cameras worked with the software on an old XP system. Where am I going wrong?

View 3 Replies View Relatedjust last night after i was finished playing skyrim for the night, i saw on steam that i had no connection. so i looked towards the internet bars icon next to the clock and saw a yello triangle with a "!" in it. so i disconnected and reconnected but still the yellow "!". so i just decided i would try again tomorrow (today).when i woke up today it didn't have that error, so i decided to go to Internet on chrome, but it had that "webpage not available" (wouldn't work for ie either). i figured it would soon fix itself like it always had, so i tried playing mw3 on my xbox, but it wouldn't connect to live either o.o and when my mom wanted to watch netflix on the living room xbox, she couldn't connect either! then i figured out it was definatly my modem that was refusing to connect to anything.
View 9 Replies View RelatedCan anyone advise how I would go about fixing this. I am trying to connect to a network (I have a dell running on windows 7) and it keeps telling me that windows is unable to connect to the network-this is before I can even enter the security key. I know it is not a problem with the wireless because other people are able to connect to it fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a large screen TV that I need to run PowerPoint presentations on, and maybe video. The IT department set up Cat5 from the PC to the TV, but I cannot get anything from the PC to display.
I am trying this on two different computers. One is XP Pro, and the other is Windows 7 Pro. I would prefer the XP machine, but will sacrifice the Windows 7 machine to this if I have to.
Both the PC and the TV show connectivity at the ports, but there is no display on the TV. Multiple Monitors do NOT show in either machine.
I CAN connect to internet just fine using my wifi BUT I CAN NO LONGER connect to 198.192.1.1!!! Any idea how to solve this problem? I'm using a Dell Insprion 1545 and Win7 32-bit. I never had this issue before, jut popped up when I tried using ICS on a different laptop, an IBM thinkpad T42 also using Win7 and connected to the same network via wifi. Again I can connect to the internet just fine on all my laptops, but 192.168.1.1 (for my netgear router) returns "unable to connect" page!!! have verified (via ipconfig) that my gateway ip is 192.168.1.1. I have valid IPs on all the laptops, but cannot connect to router setup page.
