View 1 Replies View RelatedInstalled windows 7 64bit over the weekend, all hardware working so far.
Went to plug in my old canon powershot a200 digital camera the other night and windows 7 said no driver could be found, no windows 7 driver listed on the canon site, yet windows compatible site says the camera is compatible, what gives?
Thinking about buying a new camera, the canon SD960 IS, which is very new camera in their product line. I checked compatibilty site and it says it's compatible with windows 7 64bit, yet the canon site has no drivers.
In general , do digital cameras need drivers to work in windows 7?, are a number of the drivers all ready included in windows 7, and what is the chance that windows 7 64bit is going to have or find a driver for the canon SD960 IS, if i get it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7. I also have a Canon Digital Rebel XT that I am trying to load the software onto my laptop. I have the original discs. Loaded them, plugged in the camera and got an error message that there is no driver for this camera. I downloaded the upgrades from Canon's website, still no luck. Windows states that this camera is compatible...
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've recently switched to Digital Audio (S/PDIF) (High Definition Audio Device) using one Toslink cable instead of all the analog wires going from my PC to my receiver. The digital sound is amazing, CD quality from my PC is great. However, I now also receive the digitized sound of pages being loaded as I surf the web. All sound comes out digitized when loading a new page.Is there a way to stop this from happening while listening to music or course material without gong back to analog? Can I have my digital CD quality and enjoy it too!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI found a few pix in my files that I want to edit with Photoshop. I can't open them in PS because they are Type 1 or Type 2. When I try to open them, PS says they are .jpg.1 or. jpg.2. How do I get rid of the .1 and .2 so they become normal JPG photo files?I can look at them with Windows Photo Viewer but I can't figure out how to convert them to normal JPG files.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHave a new camcorder, the videos from which I wish to record on a DVD for posterity and sharing.Apparently there are several modes that my PC asks about before making the DVD.I read, somewhere, that for the "best" pix quality, you should tell it to make a "Data Disk," and not one of the picture options.
View 9 Replies View Relatedi have an old-school Sony DCR-TRV103 camera that has digital recording on hi8 tapes. I'm trying to transfer the videos from the tapes to my laptop. One laptop is running Windows XP with a firewire port and the other is an ultrabook running Windows 7 (usb ports only).I'm looking for the most inexpensive way to be able to transfer videos to the laptop. As far as I can tell, the video camera only has a firewire out. I have tried connecting the camcorder directly to my windows XP laptop, and am able to see the camcorder, but I am unable to get the video playing. Is there someone who can tell me step by step how to transfer the video and what the best laptop to use for this?

Win 7 Enterprise, 8Gb RAM, 1Tb HDD, AM3+ processor running at 4000, 3 port firewire card, 2 monitors, the graphics system runs DX10 no problem, 8 1Tb usb HDDs running from powered hub. I have 3 camcorders all using the same video cassette type (Canon, Panasonic, Sony). I can see each on the devices and printers window and the IEEE 1394A devices are reporting no errors. Have tried each separately, all refuse to be seen by the software.Using either Adobe 2 (yes I know its old but it works) or MS Live Movieplayer each does not see any of the cameras. The cameras worked with the software on an old XP system. Where am I going wrong?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 x64 Pro. Well I have been going fine with my Sony DCR -PD170 firewired to my PC. I plug it in and it pops up asking me if I want to the whole or part of the video and so on. Then I let Windows Update load the SP1 service pack and it will not load. So I go to my laptop that is Windows 7 HP x64 that also went to SP1 and it works! So I look at its drivers and they are "msdv.sys" & "ksthunk.sys". I try copying them to the same local in the desktop and no good. I try other folders like windows, Sys32/drivers/ and so on but to no avail. I even direct it to them on my desktop.

View 4 Replies View RelatedVista x64 natively supported a bunch of canon printers with x64 drivers. For some printers this support has gone under Windows 7 x64. Perhaps this will help some people ... .
I mounted a Vista x64 ISO-image/source, extracted the folder with the canon printer drivers and installed the Colorpass Z40e driver under Windows 7 x64. In my case I used this driver für a Canon Colorpass Z400e (Canon CLC 1100).
Extraxct :
- use 7zip
- under options check "wim"
- open the install.wim an verify your vista version (important if there is a 64bit and 32 bit version on the same DVD, in my case there was only a 64bit on the systembuilder DVD)
- choose the right folder and extract the canon printer driver folder with 7zip
windowssystem32driverstorefilerepositoryprnca001.inf_c505b61f
that is it .
Upgraded desktop to 64-bit and discovered that my Canon LiDe80 and Canon PIXMA iP4000 drivers are incompatible. So after some research and not sure how accurate, I read that the professional version would allow more of the 32-bit drivers to work.
Is that correct?
Can anyone explain what "net command" is and why a box appears on booting asking me to say yes or no.
