Why Is The Text On My Passport Showing Blue?
Dec 5, 2009I think this just started happening, but why is the text to all of my files on my passport showing up as blue instead of the normal black?

WD Passport Is Not Showing Under Computer Menu?
May 5, 2011I bought a 1TB WD HDD a week ago. I copied a bunch of movies in but when I got home and tried to watch the movies in my laptop, the drive is not showing under my computer. I went into computer management and under Disk Management I saw my passport under Disk 1, Disk 0 is showing as my Drive C. I tried to change the drive letter coz I was thinking that was the problem, but it will not allow me to change the drive letter.

I think I may have accidentally deleted some fonts, but I have no idea how.More information in these screenshots.I tried using System Restore to restoringly restore a previous restore point, but it failed and asked me to try again. When I tried again all restore points had been deleted. Isn't that just awesome?Anyway, I think re-installing all fonts might fix this. So I would like to know where I can download all default Windows 7 fonts.

Feb 17, 2011One of the applications I use shows Chinese and Japanese text in jumplist as squares. This is happening only on one computer. I tested it on some several other (32 and 64 bit) computers and it is showing everything correctly. The computer that it is not working correctly is running 32bit version of Windows 7 Ultimate. Feb 5, 2013- I uninstalled IE9, then after restart, I can no longer see text in warning messages, windows titles, taskbar clock, or even icon names, something like that but without start menu even showing:

1- Rebooting
2- Scanning for viruses
3- Running SFC /scannow tool
4- Updating/re-installing graphics card driver
5- Windows repair from disk
- When I tried to setup a new copy of windows, I could not because it does not show me the message of "Press any key to continue" but only a blinking white dash then goes to start windows on hard drive. AND YES !, I set the boot to CD drive.

Dec 5, 2009I have a Western Digital Passport #WDME1600TE (refurbished), it's drive size is 160GB, (149GB usable), at least that's what it showed in XP Pro. I currently have a XP Pro backup on it that I don't even have the laptop for anymore. I never really understood the way the thing worked. You plugged it in, logged on like you would a PC, then you could either use it the way it was (even on another's computer), or you could "sync" at any time.
I did "sync" my deceased laptop on it, but not all files were copied. I could visually see which files were and were not being copied. Fortunately, I never had to use the backup that was created on it.
Is there other software that I could install on this external drive that would make it simple to use. All I want to do is create a backup, not carry it around and use it on everyone else's computer. And I want ALL of my files to be copied. I hope that this post is understandable and that someone knows what I'm talking about.
Office 2007 Word Printing Deleted Text Over New Text
Mar 3, 2011Ok this is wierd I have a client using Office 2007 pro and some of her docs that she recently updated and the problem is when she prints the docs text that she deleted is printing over the top of new text she inserted into the doc.
Now when you have said doc open in WORD the deleted text is not there in any view and does NOT show in "print preview".
I opened said doc with WORDPAD and the deleted text shows up at the bottom so its still in the word doc somewhere imbedded so it prints over the top of the actual text in the doc.

Aside from the normal file backup via the western digital software, I have several windows 7 generated iso images of my laptop stored on my external WD drive. Using windows repair disk, my computer does not recognize the external drive to access the disk images. It just asks to insert the last disk into optical drive. My images are on a folder on my external drive. There is no option to navigate to it! This is the first time I've needed to restore an image, and I can't access them! This should be an easy operation that could be started in a few minutes. I have been screwing around with this for more than 24 hours!

After that had completed, I can not see any text on web pages and even the Microsoft docs in office are messed up. Oct 13, 2012I am running windows 7 pro x32 and I rebooted my computer last night, and there was no text anywhere. I couldn't click the start menu, right click on anything or basically do anythibg to rectify the problem. After an afternoon of internet searching I found that the only solution seemed to be to run sfc /scannow in cmd, and I tried this both in safe mode and ordinary mode but to no avail, although this seemed to work for lots of other people. I even tried reinstalling windows using my dvd copy of the disk using the upgrade feature, which is what you are supposed to do, but had the error that I was upgrading to a lower version, which is apparently because my dvd does not have sp1 installed. I can not download any new disk images as I am posting off my iPod, and have no other way of doing anything technical. I need my computer for homework and other stuff, which I can't do. I do however, have some Ubuntu disks,
