The driver CD only contain the drivers for XP and Vista, Im very disappoined about this problam. also the hot keys are not working.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded QT Lite to play my .MOV files and it doesn't show in Right Click > "Open With". Only the Configuration Settings and Uninstall are in Start > Programs. The application is listed in Program Files (x86) but when I double click the application nothing happens.
I was a bit surprised when it didn't add or give the option to add a desktop icon or shortcut. But it seems as though the app has not installed properly. But I downloaded it from: |MG| QT Lite 4.1.0 Download which is the main site.

Problem as following: Everytime I start the pc after one or two minutes I lost my internet connection and when I try to restart the pc it hangs when shutting pc is showed, forcing me to shut it down only whit the power button.
I have tried to install the vista x64 driver that I have for this network adapter but cannot installed since is onlyfor vista x64, neither in compatibilty mode. After a few research managed to installed it via safe mode. and by now is working good but device manager shows a warning icon and a Cannot start device code 10.
any knows is theres a win 7 update driver?? can I just keep ignoring the code 10 till this bug is fixed??

I initially got an error on both drives for "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. (code 52)"
Both listed the cdrom.sys driver but also the unsigned file GEARAspiWDM.sys in the windowssystem32 directory.
I figured I'd rename the GEAR file and uninstall/reinstall the drivers for the optical drives, but it just tells me that it loaded cdrom.sys but can't load any device driver for the hardware.
Device manager shows them with yellow caution tales and lists both reasons as "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing (code 39)
On the driver details tab both show C:windowssystem32cdrom.sys as the driver and it shows it as signed.
im needing to install k-lite codec pack in order to play most files. im not sure which one to install, i have an old thread on vista forums but was reluctant to follow them instructions now that im running 7 and 64 bit versus vista 32, is there a diff? sorry will post new specs now that i am a new member to 7 forums.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI decided that I wanted this cheap dell laptop to run faster, so I used a tool to "strip down" my windows 7 32bit. It worked stupendously well. Everything seems two or three times as fast now as it was before.
BUT, I now have no wifi access. I confirmed that the wifi drivers are installed. They register as "working properly" but I am not finding ANY wifi signals. The problem is within the computer somewhere. Other computers in my home find 5 or 6 signals (as this one used to). The strip down tool also removed the network diagnostics feature of windows 7, so I am without recourse.
I am, however, able to connect to the internet through my iphone (pdanet) being directly connected to my laptop.
How to make a lite version of windows 7? Can I use vlite for that?

But as it is i couldn't leave things alone because the write quality was rather crappy and so i flashed it with firmware from a (electronically identical but with more feature) LiteOn model iHAS524 B. Now i have a big problem it no longer works well on USB enclosure. it does work perfectly internally, on SATA cable but on USB when i insert a disk in it the computer locks.

When i plug the burner into my rear usb 2.0 ports on my home premium version of windows 7 i have installed on my desktop it wont even detect the eSAU108 USB burner!
My initial thought is that I have a driver issue. Im fully updated with all my hardware except the motherboard BIOS and windows 7 home premium is fully updated.
Which one of these PSUs should i get, i know the XFX is good quality but i would like a bit more headroom for future upgrades so should i choose the GX

So, I got a fresh download of Win 7 (it's the free trial version) and am trying to install it.It seems to go fine, but then it says it cannot find the drivers for my dvd drive. I have the Dell drivers disk (not sure if the driver is even on there... never used it before) but it doesn't seem to find anything on it.

I personally still use xp pro x32 so I'm not fully up to speed with win 7.The beast, hereinafter called 'it' has started going into infinite boot ups and trying various fixes (including restoring the hives) have been unsuccessful and the original hives put back. It was originally a Vista OS and was upgraded to Windows 7. Before it went sick, AVG10 reported trojan.Redbrowser. Despite providing instructions to remove, my friend reported that the trojan had stopped doing whatever it was it did. (Hmm, I don't think so) Anyway a few days later AVG10 apparently disappeared and stopped scanning. The infinite reboot started and 'it' is now in my hands.

Same result - reboot Using recovery options - system restore - attempting repairs gives unknown Bugcheck f4 params 0x3, 0x84c81c48, 0x84c81db4, 0x8201bd60 clicking finish gives a reboot but cancel gets me to 'choose a recovery tool'Using system restore gives unsuccessful - failed to extract file C:windows$Nt..from restore point.There are 3-other System Image restore points in Backups , but get message 'selected backup not found'. The backup sets are on another partition on same disk and can be seen from command prompt provided in the recovery options but I can't find a way to tell 'it' to look there.I've tried both rstrui and wbadmin from the command prompt but still can't get them to see the backups - just 'not found' errors.
Yesterday I was installing XP on one of partitions I made for it,because I had problems recording stereo tracks for studio on Windows 7( in my previous encounters like that,it worked on XP ).After installation of XP it would restart and just give Unable to load operating system and I couldn't boot in Windows 7 because as most of you probably know,XP overwrites boot section of Windows 7( but that's an easy fix with EasyBCD ).Now I tried fixing the problem with Windows 7 installation DVD and startup repair but no use,then I tried MBR tutorial and it got me to splash screen,but that's where my infinite loop started.Then I tried doing backup with command prompt as in one of tutorials here: Startup Repair Infinite Loop Recovery but no results unfortunately. Or am I going to be forced to do clean install? I temporarily installed Windows 8 Release Preview on XP partition just so I can do stuff until Windows 7 is fixed.

I downloaded a corrupt file and my computer went crazy and so I shut it off and now it keeps going through the start up repair over and over. It'll say that it's rapaired and it will restart but then it will go straight back into doing it over and over. Can someone please answer this quickly because finals are next week and I have unfinished papers and websites and animations on my computer that need to be handed in pronto.

Upon restart I got to the point where it tells me " windows was interrupted upon installation, install will proceed after restart" it then restarts and does the same thing. If I shut it off and turn it back on I get the page on choosing to boot normal or in safe mode, but I never get the bios options, as I have the windows 7 SP1 cd that came with.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy original os is windows 7. So today I connected a hard drive from a windows xp machine so I could transfer some files. When I powered the computer back on I got a blue screen right after the windows 7 loading screen and the computer rebooted. I then got the black screen asking if I want safe mode last known configuration or start windows normally. I chose start normally and i got bluescreen/rebooted back to this screen. I then chose last known good configuration and was bluescreen/rebooted back to the screen, this time I chose safe mode. Safe mode began to load files and then stopped at mup.sys bluescreened and rebooted. The system then tried to do the windows repair thing and I did the system restore option and rebooted, this didnt help and I put in my windows 7 installation cd hit repair and tried bootrec.exe, none of the options worked [fixmbr fixboot etc] and the system doesnt recognize that any OS are installed.

No luck. So now I just have a recurring DocumentsDocuments etc on my HD.I looked through all this. Tried running CHKDSK, tried deleting it in safe mode, on Linux, and using scripts and stuff I found on the web. Something to do with Robocopy.

What I first did to install: I change the bios to boot from the Optical Drive Put the Windows 7 CD into the optical drive.Follow the on screen instructions for the windows install. Windows copies the files, extracts and installs. The system reboots. When Windows attempts to start for the first time the windows logo comes up and does its animation. The system then reboots. The screen comes up that tells me windows didn�t start properly and do I want to try safe mode, etc etc. If I do safe mode drivers scroll until it gets to disk.sys. At this point it freezes for a minute or two and reboots.
Things I�ve tried:
I have pared down to 1 stick of 2 GB of the ram
I�ve tried using both of the other sticks of ram (individually) in case I had a bad stick
I�ve tried with an older ATI PCI video card in case it was a video card compatibility issue
I�ve tried reformatting and deleting the system partition and reinstalling
I�ve tried reformatting from another working computer and reinstalling
I�ve tried many windows repairs, often it says it can�t fix it, or tries something and restarts.
Once it was �repairing disk errors� and it did that in about a minute. Didn�t work. Othertimes it gives me a failure during setup, tries to fix it, didn�t work.I�ve reset the bios to optimized I�ve tried manually changing the multiplier of the ram in the bios. fter about 25 -30 reboots bios resets and repairs it finally looked like it was working, did some more installation stuff, restarted, and started the damn reboot sequence over and over� Now when I run in safe mode the last line to come up is Loaded: windowssystem32driversClasspnp.sys Looks like it made it a step farther, for no reason, I really didn�t change anything except repeated attempts. Many more attempts at repairs and resets haven�t gotten any further.
So I decided I wanted to try Microsoft Security Essentials for some reason. I uninstalled Avast and all traces of it. I installed MSE and everything went smoothly. I noticed it was setup to automatically scan every Sun. night. I left it that way. Monday morning I wake up to the infinite reboot. Because of the aforementioned I am 95% sure it is software related, but maybe that is because I don't want to spend money on new hardware right now.
I've tried every safe mode. I've tried to load the last known good config. I tried to repair with my Win 7 disc, but it always restarts itself before I can get anything done. I also tried system restore and also reformatting with the disc, but I get no more than a minute once I've started the computer. I've also tried scheduling memory and system checks at startup but they never get a chance to run.

A Dell Inspiron E1705, w/ 2x2gb mem, 500 gb hd, ATI Radeon x1400 vid and Win 7.There were no Dell drivers or programs and the system BIOS was ver A01. Checking the Dell website against the Service Tag, I found 22 drivers and programs specific to the computer. Most of them ran and installed under Win 7 with no trouble. The last one was the bios flash utility program to update the bios to ver A10. The bios flashed, seemed to go ok. But on system reboot, after the initial screem about resetting the memory sticks, the computer is stuck in an infinite reboot loop.It loads the initial POST screen, completes the POST, seeks for its boot device and when it finds and starts to access the installed HD it reboots. I have reset all the bios settings to factory default settings. I have pulled the system battery and "cleared the cmos", but no joy there. I have created a bootable usb flash drive with another Dell laptop, and the computer will boot from that. I have other bootable cd's, and the computer will boot from them. I can use the bootable cd's to determine that the programs they run (freeware backup programs and a copy of bart pe) can access the installed hd,and see the files there, so the installed hd is intact. But i still can't get the computer to boot from it.My first thought was to reinstall the ver A01 bios, but it would not complete the process and remained at ver .A10. I was able to flash bios A09, and then A07, etc, all the way back to ver A04. But after that I could go back no further, A02 and A01 flash utilities returned an error message. If I found some compatible mem sticks and a smaller hd, installed them, could I reflash bios ver A02 or A01? Would that do me any good? (I have 2 x 256 mg mem sticks from a dell inspiron 5100 which I upgraded to 2x1gb, and a 40 gb 2.5in hd that also came out of the 5100, so I could use those parts in the e1705 to reflash the earlier bios)

My laptop recently shutdown due to no power, when I restarted i was able to get to the main screen, but then i couldn't go any further...kept getting the infinite twirling circle. Am able to start in safe mode, where i ran superanyispyware, trend micro and malwarebytes full scan for each and all came back clean. my daughter uses this sometimes and downloads some things so am hoping it hasn't screwed anything up.
