I have to hard drives on my computer one is fr 300 GB n the other is for 500 GB and both were been detected never had problem in last 8 mnths , but for last 3 days my computer does not detect the 500GB hard drive. Aticipating fr your response.
View 3 Repliesmy brother gave me a new motherboard last weekend and I had to reformat consequently, since then however I have been unable to view or access my netbook or network drive. Before reformatting I was running on Windows 7 ultimate x32 and I am now running on the same however in x64 instead. I know that my network is working as I can access my network drive through my netbook but I am unable to see my computer or netbook through both devices, but seen as my net-book was able to see my pc prior to reformatting I am pretty sure it is an issue with my computer. I have done all the usual checks through the network and sharing center to ensure that everything is shared correctly and that network discovery is turned on.

I seem to be unable to view some of the videos on the windows 7 laptop but able to view those same videos on vista laptop. the error is normally "200, Stream not found, NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound, clip". Is it a settings problem as both of my laptops are installed with the same version of flash players.
I have tried to uninstall the flash player and re-install the flash player but the error still persist.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new Sony SVT13112FXS - hard drive is a hybrid of 500 GB HDD and 32 GB SDD.I was attempting to reformat it to get all of the anti-virus stuff off, except when I tried to reformat no disks were shown in the reformat tool. It asked for drivers, so I assumed I'd need to install the SATA/chipset drivers. I downloaded them from the Sony website but it wouldn't allow me to install them (from a flash drive). Specifically the error is "No drives were found. Click load driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation."In my troubleshooting I (stupidly) marked the wrong partition as active and got the dreaded "bootmgr is missing" upon restart. I attempted to repair using the windows 7 disk as a recovery tool and selected "startup repair" 3 times, but it still does not work.I am able to get into command prompt and I am assuming I can inactivate the (wrong) active partition there. However, when I go into DISKPART and type "list disk", all that shows up is my flash drive that I am attempting to install windows from - the computers hard drive does NOT show up here.I will also happily completely reformat instead of repairing, but I cannot do that since I can't get the disks to show up in the reformat tool.

Anyway, I tried running the command "sfc /snannow" in the command prompt (in admin mode) but to no avail even after I restarted the system. Also, I can no longer create a system restore point manually. Which when clicked "create a restore point", they will show me these errors.

This morning I attempted to view the properties of one of my drive in Windows explorer. Properties is a selection on the context menu, but clicking it does absolutely nothing. I have 3 drive in my system and the same behavior is true for all of them.To add to the mystery, properties works fine for files, directories and Computer. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1 fully patched.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn Thursday this week I upgraded my XP machine to Windows 7 (actually created a dual-boot system) and generally I find it to be OK. I have one or two gripes but most I'll get used to. However, one thing that does annoy me rather intensely is that ALL shared folders/drives on our home network show up in 'Computer' view in Windows Explorer - all 45 of them.
I find this particularly irritating and I've been searching the internet for hours for a way of removing them, all with no success. Perhaps I'm not really sure what search term I should use and I recognise I may well be missing some new feature in Windows 7 that is NOT in XP - but I really don't know what.
So, a question please: is there a way of removing those shares from 'Computer' view, i.e. the top level view where all the drives are shown (My Computer in XP)?
I can view all the pictures when the memory card inserted to computer but when i insert it to my camera i cant view it . it says "card error" but when i remove to my camera it run. I cant see the folder named DCIM.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to Windows 7 Enterprise having had used XP for years. In addition, I have an 8tb server networked with a large collection of movies. With XP, I made each folder a thumbnail (.db file) so that each folder containing the movie would have a picture of the movie cover. My HTPC is still running XP, and of course, can view the thumbnails just fine. With Windows 7, I have tried everything.Basically, i can't get it to show the thumbnail (.db file) which is contained inside each movie folder.I have changed the folder options to "always show icons, never thumbnails" so that it will show thumbnails. I have changed the local group policy editor to make sure that windows has the proper settings. There is even an option to" turn off the display of thumbnails and only display icons on network folders."

I recently got a new Lenovo laptop and purchased brand new application software so I could get a clean installation. After 1 month of running both systems and gradually moving material over to the Lenovo, I cleaned the Sony and did a recovery to the original, store bought condition. Now I realize that I failed to move over some pictures. I have a Windows Image of the Sony on an external hard drive. Is there a way I can get the pics from the Windows Image onto the new Lenovo?

My device is listed on the left hand column and when I click to view it, all it will do is try to import all the 3000 pictures I have on there. I don't want to put them into this new computer as they take up a lot of space. So, I just want to send a couple of them in an email.Maybe in this new computer with 450 GB, it would be okay to import them? can click on photo email as an attachment, and it will give me an opportunity to change the size and put it in the email. View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently cloned my 500Gb HDD to a 750 Gb drive. When I nstalled the clone it shows a capacity of 443Gb in the computer view and 687Gb in the Data Mgt view. I'm aware of the reasons for the missing 63 Gb but What I'm confused about is the missing 240 Gb between the 2 views. The clone software mfg tells me the that the Data Mgt view is correct and the clone process was successful

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I backup to an external USB drive, Explorer shows the 2 folders created (WindowsImageBackup and MYNAME-PC) as having 0 bytes, 0 files and 0 folders when right clicking those folders and looking at Properties.
Yet, if I right click the drive icon, Properties shows the drive with 15GB of used space.
Is this normal? I'm not using third party software for the backup.
Started using robocopy to do my backups. In my command lines, i can specify directories on a external drive to backup to.Some directories show up and i see everything. My most important directory " my documents" DOESNT SHOW UP. I have confirmed a backup is occuring, via log file and properties on the backup folder. I edited it down to a backup of only that folder. Log file shows good, external drive shows the "backup" root directory and properties ( size, number of files) match log file. Open up the backup folder, NOTHING LISTED. I have to run the script as adminstrator , my user is admin also, but if i run it as myself, it cant access the folder. I think im dealing with a rights issue, i have edited security on the external drive, even reformatted it , still nothing shows up?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a USB external hard drive that I keep all my documents etc on (had it for years)I upgraded from Vista Home to & Home Premium then had to upgrade recently to Professional to run my Sage. Through all these upgrades my ext. drive ran fine. Occasionally the drvie letter would change if I had something else plugged into the USB, this was always easily corected in disk management by changing the drive path.The connection on the case packed up so I had to get the drive put into a new case, now when I plug it in the drive is assigned G instead of F, I tried to change the drive letter allocation in Disk Management but it won't let me as the program still thinks I have a second ext. hard drive which is labelled F. I suspect this has happened because when the usb connection broke the drive was disconnected suddenly instead of a proper eject.How do I get Disk Management to remove the inactive drive - i can't find any obvious way - eject, delete etc are all missing when I click on tools or tasks.
