Unable to install the epson scanner driver on my windows 7 64 bit system. Apparently the problem is the windows image acquisition, how can I reload or fix this? I ran the sfc scan and it found no problems?
View 3 RepliesI would like to keep my Epson Perfection 1640SU Scanner and therefore i would like to know how to install the proper driver. The Epson sites only provides an stone-old Vista 32 Bit driver. The driver installs without any message, and i even can select the Scanner in the Twain Menu in my Paint Program, but when pressing on the startbutton then comes "An error occures while trying to open the Data Source". Hardware Manager says "No Driver installed"....I'm gettin' mad... I am using Windows 7 PRO - 64Bit?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have recently picked up a rather old Epson EPL-5800L, which I was unable to successfully install on a Windows 7 OS. According to the manufacturer's website, there are no Windows 7 drivers available for this printer. Hardware-wise, the printer iworks fine and has happily installed using an NT 4.0 driver under Windows XP 32-bit.I have so far tried running the available Windows 2000/NT 4.0 driver in the required compatibility mode and with full 'Admin' rights but with no luck as the OS reports that the driver is not compatibile.Looking for an alternative solution, I have tried EPL-5900, EPL-6100L and EPL-6200L drivers. Whereas ELP-5900 and EPL6200L would not even attempt to communicate with the printer, EPL-6100L results in an instant error light coming up. As there is no software control panel, I can only presume that the driver has been written for a slightly different printing processor.I have also replied to Epson asking whether the printer is PostScript enabled as there is no obvious indication in the specification sheet but got some generic instructions. A transcript of that conversation will be attached attached to this post within next couple of days.

XP was fine, no problem, but it seems to me that Epson have (has?) abandoned this fine scanner as there is no 640U listed in the Microsoft Support section @ EpsonPerhaps there is a driver in the Microsoft Support section, intended for another Perfection scanner that would work? View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to scan transparencies for the first time after connecting my Epson 1670 scanner to a Win7 PC. It takes a good preview scan of the whole assembly but not the individual slides as on my old PC (so the cables connecting to the PC and the scanner head still work OK).
I checked the Help, and the document cover's cable seems to be connected OK too (I never had an Auto Film Loader), but the options for transparencies don't appear in the menu.
Before I start testing with an XP laptop, which will need the driver installed, or fiddling with alcohol on the connections, does the Win7 driver for the Epson 1670 in fact support transparencies?

View 0 Replies View RelatedHeader says it all--and yes I've searched here and despite similar (exact?) thread topics being closed as "solved" none of the "solutions" worked for me.Windows 7 64bit, Adaptec 29160 SCSI card (which device manager does not recognize), scanner shows there as "HP C2520A SCSI Processor Device."ried VueScan and it claims no scanner is installed.When I click on the scanner in device manager and try to install the drivers I got from HP (presumably for Windows 7 64bit) it says it can't find them.When I try to install them manually by left clicking the .inf file, I get the ole "the inf file you selected does not support this method of installation."On most forums the responses run the gamut of idiocy, commonest being "why don't you throw that elegant machine away and buy one of these late-model pieces of junk that are supported by windows 7."

Have installed XP mode, & V PC.
Have installed Epson Perfection 1250 Scanner in XP mode.
I am unable to access the scanner dfrom windows 7.
I have to restart XP mode, USB/Attach scanner. Then i can use the shortcut to the scanner from Win 7, but i then get error message;

To open a virtual application, the virtual machine must be closed
Click Continue to open the virtual application. This will close the virtual machine and you will lose any unsaved data.
To avoid losing data, click Cancel and save any unsaved data. Then, log off from the virtual machine and try again.

Once it has closed i can then use the Scanner. Which is fine for that session. Once i restart win 7, i have to go through the same again to be able to use the scanner.
Is this right.
I note that whenever i close XP mode, and then reopen i have to do a USB/Attach for the Scanner.
There are no 64bit win 7 drivers for the Scanner, hence XP mode.
