I have an issue with my USB mices, they don't work. The mouse cursor won't move an inch. It's lit up and the Steelseries driver "Engine" makes it very clear that the mouse is recognized by the computer. I can play around with the lights and the settings but the cursor won't move. I have been googling for hours and tried many fixes without success.
I have tried: Tweaking the BIOS and the USB mouse support option, deleting different keys in regedit, deleting and reinstalling drivers. I got the problem after I changed the PSU. The mouse would work but it stuttered forward and the movement wasn't smooth at all until it completely stopped moving. I have since switched back to my old PSU to no avail. I'm suspecting that there is a power issue, maybe a setting changed when I switched PSU.
All web browsers (ie, chrome, firefox) create high cpu usage when I move the mouse inside the browers. If I move the mouse around cpu usage can go up to 70% until I stop moving the mouse. I think other activities within the broswer might also cause this to happen but I'm not sure.
If I leave the browser idle the problem seems to go away although the the cpu usage of the browser tends to spike fairly often.
I updated windows recently but one of the optional updates created a problem so I did a system restore. I'm fairly sure the problem started there although I'm not 100% sure.
My win 7 laptop reported that a usb device had malfunctioned - my mouse, a roccat kone, no longer controlled the pointer. The scroll wheel and buttons still work, but the pointer will not move. Having had a similar problem in the past I purchased a new mouse, a rat 7, but I have the exact same problem.
Now both mice work fine on my PC, and both work on a variety of surfaces. - I have tried in safe mode, no luck - I have tried uninstalling all usb drivers, and all mouse drivers, no success (all other peripherals work fine, hard rives, usb drives and a tablet/pen) - I have rebooted a million times, and tried toggling legacy usb support in bios. - I also tried installing microsoft generic mouse drivers, no luck.
I am willing to try anything, though id rather not reinstall the os.
I have an issue where the Drop Down menu to select meeting times in Outlook is not working. I'm unable to select meeting times via the mouse and must type them in. I have tested this and found that the drop down disappears when you move the mouse pointer over it. I have only been able to get it to work by left clicking and holding the mouse button down while I hover over the drop down list.Note: This does not appear to be an Outlook issue as I also have the same problem with the Windows system Tray. The system tray icons disappear when I move the mouse pointer over them.
I have a desktop computer running Windows 7 64-bit. I have had it around 1 month and just today have found it keeps freezing on me. The screen literally freezes on one image and I cannot move the mouse/use the keyboard. The fans are still running inside the PC and I cannot see why this happens.
I recently got a new computer at work with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010. I'm having issues in both Excel and Outlook when I try to drag and drop an item, instead of just dropping when I take my finger off of the mouse button, I'm having to click a second time on the mouse to get it to drop the item. I have googled this problem and tried multiple things to trouble shoot without success. It is driving me crazy!I have downloaded new mouse softwareTried another mouseUndocked and tried with touchpadrebootedChecked settings in Excel and drag and drop is enabled.
I am a Proffessional Photographer who sent my Vista Computer in to be fixed and was called and told they were going to replace it with a new Windows 7. I take hundreds of pictures and its really important to me to be able to re-organize them within the same folder in the order I need and then rename them within that folder. I have found threads with info on downloading and making the windows allow you to do this, and have tried for hours. I'm either doing something wrong, or its not working. I have the newest version of home premium and maybe that's the problem. My computer is a Toshiba Satellite L775-S7352.
Not sure how exactly how to start this, but I am suddenly having issues where my computer will freeze. I could still hear audio and move my mouse. ie if I am watching a you tube video I can hear the video still going but my computer freeze up.
On my laptop the primary user mouse has frozen and will not move. The other users mouse/cursor moves fine. Also, I have noticed that the when on the primary user the fan runs and the computer is hot.
Win 7 Freecell "sticks" The cards don't move when you try to move them. If you keep trying you get the message "freecell is not responding" or "problem with freecell executable". Could this have anything to do with a recent Norton upgrade? I have tried turning windows games on and off and it doesn't help. If so, where can I get a clean reinstall?
My computer qwill freeze for a few seconds followed by system lag which seems to get worse (freezing every few seconds/taking 2 seconds to recognise a click etc.). If i reset my computer it resolves the issue but i was hoping you guys may be able to give me more insight as to what the issue may be.It nearly always happens when i am browsing in firefox. Have never had it happen to me during gaming etc. which is why i'm hesitant to believe it is to do with my GPU or it's drivers which are always kept up to date.i have included pics of the cursor and what processes were running at the time of the freeze/lag
Lately I have been having an annoying problem with my wireless mouse. For some reason the pointer will lag, and be very sluggish and jumpy. I've had this mouse on this computer for about a year and I've had no problem. Out of nowhere this problem is happening. I've tried re installing drivers with no luck. I tried uninstalling intellipoint and re-installing it, but when I tried I got the BSOD, and then it completely disabled my mouse and keyboard so I had to use wired peripherals to go in to safe mode and do a system restore. Now everything is working again, except my mouse is still jumpy.
i'm trying to order something from a website and the cursor want open my cart for me to look at it and finish my order. this is happening in several sites not just one.
Is it possible to turn the mouse acceleration on only when using the touchpad on my laptop and off when I'm using the mouse? I usually don't use the touchpad when the mouse is plugged in if that's an
I probably spilled some coffee on the keyboard and now I can not inactivate the mouse pad in favor of the external mouse. The only way I can eliminate the conflict is to uninstall the mouse pad. That works fine but every time I reboot for something I have to uninstall it again. As you know rebooting is common and therefore I have to reboot twice for every time I have to reboot. Anyone with a solution to this problem? This is a HP laptop. The mouse automatically installs everytime I have to reboot. I do not shut down normaly.
I have a W7 64b laptop. My mouse has started having problems, first it didn't click on things when i pressed it but if you persist it does no no big harm there. Biggest problem I am facing is the mistaking of the wheel with mouse 1. Some times when I am browsing the net and i have to scroll, and generally every time I move my mouse fast, it automatically presses the wheel. It is getting really annoying and I dont know how to stop it. I changed the mouse with another, and I had the same problem.I dont know what to do.I believe its a virus but pc didnt find anything with avast.
I'd like to have 2 mouse pointers locked inside 2 different windows and also have my keyboard inputs being active on both windows at the same time.Imagine 2 notepads open with the size of half screen each, and have 2 mouse pointers controlled at same time by the same mouse for each of the windows and typing in both notepads at the same time.whats the program called?
I have a TT esports theron its a nice mouse but for some reason it no longer reads it as such. Whenever i plug it in it reads it as HID-compliant mouse. Which doesnt allow me to use the program and set the extra button commands. How can i go about fixing this?
I used my Turtle Beach Headset while playing a game and since then the computer has started saying i have two mice connected to my computer. The problem is that since its reading two mice the one i have been using forever has stopped working right.ouble Click is disabled and it moves extremely fast. I go to disable the HID Mouse and everything is working fine again. But when the computer restarts it seems to reinitalize the HID Mouse. So i uninstalled the driver for it. Next reboot it was back again and this time the headset wasnt even plugged in. I am not getting any error messages in my device manager but i cant seem to get the HID mouse to disappear. Whenever i plug anything into the USB port even if its a Thumb drive the mouse comes back.
Currently i have my OS on my old HDD, i bought new SSD and i now i need to move the whole OS (win 7 oem version) to the new SSD so i can close and open it faster. How do i do that?please show step by step ( give pics if possible)Plus, i tried to format my old HDD and it said that the HDD is containing the Windows version i am using, so i guess after i move my OS to the SSD i can format the HDD right? If so, how can i format the HDD? When i right click on the C drive, i see the open "format" but i dont know what to do after that.
When I use my external drive, it says I am missing a driver even thought the the first step of the os it done. And I tried a usb and it want registering... so might as well try a different way of making a usb bootable.
I have a desktop with a 250GB HDD that has Vista Ultimate installed on it. I recently added a 64GB SSD and installed 7 Professional on it. All is working well as a dual boot system, but at this point I would like to format the 250GB drive and use it for data storage. Problem is that since it was the original drive when I added the SSD and Windows 7, I believe that the MBR is on that drive. When I physically disconnect it, I get a message to put in my 7 install disk, but when I to try to repair it, it shows no OS to repair. So, can I move, change or create a new MBR on the SSD or am I going to need to just do another clean install of 7 on the 64GB drive without the 250GB drive attached, then attach it and format it?
The problem is that installing from the CD works fine untill a certain point of the installation and then it it fails, done it several times and breaks at same place each time... Thats why I have to try and fix it some other way, and thats is why I tried the following. So, removed the HDD from her computer, removed all HDD from my own computer, pluged in her HDD, Installed Windows 7 on her HDD on my computer with same CD.As soon as installation was done, shut down and removed HDD, no internet plugged in and no uppdates done or anything in that way.Everything worked fine no problems at all.Removed the HDD from my computer, plugged it in to her computer, fixed boot order, compuer finds HDD in Bios, when it wants to boot from it.All that happens is "Verifying DMI Pool Data...Update Success" then the compuer just stands there for several minuts and nothing happens.Im guessing that we have differnt motherboards, CPU, and all that, is there any way I can make it work ?I have started with Windows 7 CD, and tried to do "repair" but there is nothing to repair so that dint help either.
-CD problems = No -HDD broken = No
So Im looking for some help that can make the HDD work on her computer. Is there some way of software or file edeting I can do to make this work ?
I can't move more than one folder at the same time. Also, when I move that one folder, just the contents in the folder move - not the folder itself. How do I do this? I want to move a number of consecutive folders at once. I should mention that these folders are subfolders of the Windows folder.
Copying and pasting files is easy. But how do I move files so they no longer appear in original location. The time has come for me to make some room on my hard drive and the way to do it is move all the pictures to another drive. What is the command to do this? Isn't drag and drop copying and not moving? I suppose I could copy then come back and delete. But moving would be better I think. Less chance for a mistake
