View 13 RepliesI recently got a new computer at work with Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010. I'm having issues in both Excel and Outlook when I try to drag and drop an item, instead of just dropping when I take my finger off of the mouse button, I'm having to click a second time on the mouse to get it to drop the item. I have googled this problem and tried multiple things to trouble shoot without success. It is driving me crazy!I have downloaded new mouse softwareTried another mouseUndocked and tried with touchpadrebootedChecked settings in Excel and drag and drop is enabled.
View 2 Replies View Relatedbefore my hard drive crashed I had a freeware program that allowed me to right click on file or folder and move or copy to any place on computer. I lost it and can not find.

I currently have a reg file that moves a single file to my reg hack folder.
[code]...
I can still hear the sound (I was listening to music on iTunes the first time and the second time I was watching a movie on VLC) ctrl+alt+del works, (when I choose cancel, the screen goes blank) I can log off and everything's fine when I log back in. This happened twice within past two hours... when I was listening to music and watching movie in the background... and it happened when I was typing details of a mp3 file's properties...
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with my USB mices, they don't work. The mouse cursor won't move an inch. It's lit up and the Steelseries driver "Engine" makes it very clear that the mouse is recognized by the computer. I can play around with the lights and the settings but the cursor won't move. I have been googling for hours and tried many fixes without success.
I have tried: Tweaking the BIOS and the USB mouse support option, deleting different keys in regedit, deleting and reinstalling drivers. I got the problem after I changed the PSU. The mouse would work but it stuttered forward and the movement wasn't smooth at all until it completely stopped moving. I have since switched back to my old PSU to no avail. I'm suspecting that there is a power issue, maybe a setting changed when I switched PSU.
I found with both the 6956 and the 7000 install, the wake up on mouse move doesn't work, I have to re-boot,
Has anyone else had this problem, Bios is set to enabled.
All web browsers (ie, chrome, firefox) create high cpu usage when I move the mouse inside the browers. If I move the mouse around cpu usage can go up to 70% until I stop moving the mouse. I think other activities within the broswer might also cause this to happen but I'm not sure.
If I leave the browser idle the problem seems to go away although the the cpu usage of the browser tends to spike fairly often.
I updated windows recently but one of the optional updates created a problem so I did a system restore. I'm fairly sure the problem started there although I'm not 100% sure.
speaks for its self realy i have a easynote tm i got it for christmas i tried to play a game but i cant move the mouse

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy win 7 laptop reported that a usb device had malfunctioned - my mouse, a roccat kone, no longer controlled the pointer. The scroll wheel and buttons still work, but the pointer will not move. Having had a similar problem in the past I purchased a new mouse, a rat 7, but I have the exact same problem.
Now both mice work fine on my PC, and both work on a variety of surfaces.
- I have tried in safe mode, no luck
- I have tried uninstalling all usb drivers, and all mouse drivers, no success (all other peripherals work fine, hard rives, usb drives and a tablet/pen)
- I have rebooted a million times, and tried toggling legacy usb support in bios.
- I also tried installing microsoft generic mouse drivers, no luck.
I am willing to try anything, though id rather not reinstall the os.
I have an issue where the Drop Down menu to select meeting times in Outlook is not working. I'm unable to select meeting times via the mouse and must type them in. I have tested this and found that the drop down disappears when you move the mouse pointer over it. I have only been able to get it to work by left clicking and holding the mouse button down while I hover over the drop down list.Note: This does not appear to be an Outlook issue as I also have the same problem with the Windows system Tray. The system tray icons disappear when I move the mouse pointer over them.
View 2 Replies View RelatedYou normally left click to access something on the internet but all of the sudden my computer won't do that. I have to right click then go up to click on OPEN and then it works. Using windows 7 pro and this just started over the weekend. How do I get it back to left click to open?
View 3 Replies View RelatedUsually when using an internet browser (firefox or internet explorer) and windows explorer windows, I try to click to switch tabs and it doesn't respond. It shows (Not Responding) for a split second and won't switch tabs. I end up having to click a whole bunch of times before it switches.
This same kind of thing happens with explorer windows when trying to restore them from the minimized state. It just won't respond and multiple clicks are needed before seeing any action. This has been happening for awhile now but I figure it just may be another bug
Mouse Click Sound is not coming.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the same problem with my Windows 7 PC and a Logitech trackball. This seemed to start with the most recent Windows updates for Window 7. I doubt that Microsoft gives a crap about our problem.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi've been having a problem with my mouse, it clicks just once in a while, and, sometimes, it gets better with one window (program) but when I change to another program or desktop, it stops clicking again. It begun out of nowhere about 3 days ago. I run my pc on windows 7, I tried changing the usb port, the mouse and it doesn't work. What does help is doing a ctrl+alt+del, starting task manager and returning to windows, then, I can click on a single program and it begins to work (the mouse clicks) with it. Typing alt+tab also helps sometimes.
My xbox controller and keyboard are functioning normally. I recently updated my kaspersky to the latest version, but I tried deactivating it but I had no luck with the mouse. I'm thinking about returning to a previous kaspersky version, first, then, if that doesn't help, reinstalling the windows.
Ah, another thing that might help: i have windows vista on the same PC, same HD and, when I logged in it to see if the problem persisted, gess what, yes, the same mouse problem. That made me think of a hardware problem, but on all usb ports is odd. Can anyone help?
I installed Windows 7 a few months ago, everything was working fine until a few days.
A while after the computer is on, i want to click anymore neither with my touch pad nor with my external usb mouse....
The cursor moves normally but left click and right click won't work. if i do CTRL ALT DEL and cancel it works again for a while and then starts again.
The weird part, is it's not alway for the whole screen, sometimes i cannot click windows, sometimes i cannot click the tasl bar, sometimes both...
I really can't seem to find an answer to this problem, i've been thinking it might be a problem of screen refresh as the CTRL ALT DEL solves it for a few minutes, but I'm not sure... Can someone here help me please?
I can nove the cursor with the mouse, but multiple clicks will not fix a location so I can start typing

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a desktop computer running Windows 7 64-bit. I have had it around 1 month and just today have found it keeps freezing on me. The screen literally freezes on one image and I cannot move the mouse/use the keyboard. The fans are still running inside the PC and I cannot see why this happens.
My specs are:
Intel i7 980X Processor
8GB RAM
1TB HDD
1GB GFX
I am a Proffessional Photographer who sent my Vista Computer in to be fixed and was called and told they were going to replace it with a new Windows 7. I take hundreds of pictures and its really important to me to be able to re-organize them within the same folder in the order I need and then rename them within that folder. I have found threads with info on downloading and making the windows allow you to do this, and have tried for hours. I'm either doing something wrong, or its not working. I have the newest version of home premium and maybe that's the problem. My computer is a Toshiba Satellite L775-S7352.

I uninstalled the usb drivers for the keyboard and mouse using USBDeview that didnt help either. I uninstalled naturally dragon 11 because it was the last install i did before i noticed

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy netbook, running windows 7 starter, no longer allows me to right click. Not in programs, not in folders, not on the desktop. I was using a USB mouse (which I tested on another mechine, the right click works fine there, so its not the mouse). After this problem started I tried a second usb mouse and the right-click on the built-in touch pad mouse. None of them worked. I have tried rebooting, I tried updating the drivers on my USB mouse. I havn't tried a system restor, hoping someone might know a fix that avoids that route.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI uninstalled the Interactual and Sonic Cineplayer software because that interfered with Windows Media Player and Power DVD v7.
I set my autoplay option for the DVD drive to "Always ask" for a DVD movie.
When I insert a DVD movie I get the autoplay option for WMP or PowerDVD.
Now everything works except for one quirk.
If I insert a DVD MOVIE, cancel the autoplay option and then simply mouse click on the DVD drive I get:
"Windows cannot access the specified device. path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
Any other type of DVD/CD works fine. IT IS JUST DVD MOVIES.
I think Interactual, which want to own the DVD drive, left some registry entry whereby it tries to re-install itsellf (I REALLY hate that software).
1) Any ideas as to what the POC Interactual software left behind an how to clean it?
2) Also, why, oh why, can't the Windows error message INCLUDE the "device, path, or file" NAME in the error message? (Pet Peeve #1) Are you listening Redmond?
I seem to remember that there was a setting that I could change to prevent a drop-down from appearing whenever I clicked on an icon. Now I am presented with a drop-down that has "OPEN' as it's top item.
