View 3 RepliesI my middle click function has stopped working on my mouse, at first I assumed it was a Chrome update and that I could no longer use it to "Open link in new tab" however it seems that it now does absolutely nothing and I am unable to reassign it. I used CAD software (Solidworks) that requires the middle mouse button for me to be able to pivot my view about the pointer on the screen (also a few PC games I play would be much smoother if I could do this).I have all the latest drivers and firmware installed.I did find this thread that I thought might help me; Middle Mouse Button , however the screen shot at the bottom shows the Mouse Options on the Control Panel having a lot more option than it does for me, the only options I have are switching the left and right mouse buttons, double-click speed adjustment and ClickLock. The buttons assignment window that I get using the Razer software gives no more options other than to assign the forwards and backwards buttons ("Windows Button 4" and "Windows Button 5").

Why would my mouse just stop working. Checked the batteries and they're good. Loaded W7 on 3 days ago and today the mouse won't work. Running W7 64 bit. It's a Kensington mouse as well. Was using it with vista 64 bit with no problems for a year.
View 2 Replies View Related2 days ago my mouse randomly ceased to work (Razer Imperator). Before preparing an RMA I thought to test it on another system (netbook) to verify it was broke. Turns out it wasn't.So past 2 days I have been googling my ass off using my drawing tablet as a mouse. I have other USB mice but they all don't work either, other than the tablet. Unfortunately system restore is not an option as for some bizarre reason its not turned on. Using the repair CD, the one from the backup part of the control panel doesn't work as it detects no problems. One thing I did learn from that boot repair CD is that my mouse functions fine at this point. From this im assuming a software fault. First time I saw that I had hope it was fixed. Not to be the case.So I can give yall a brief overview of the things I have done so far:
Checked that the mouse is working on other systems Turned off Legacy support for USB on my BIOS Uninstalled and re installed the product drivers countless times (These were removed properly each time) Tried all the USB ports on my computer and verified that all my ports work with other devices eg flash drives and the like Uninstalled the drivers from the devices in the device manager to see if windows could re install them automatically Transferred several .INF and .PNF from another functional system related to the problem ( also have the originals backed up) Removed all other USB devices to see if its a power fault Updated my bios and chipset drivers alongside most other system drivers So thats where I am at so far. I also have a few observations which may also be relevant Under the devices and printers and into the properties i get the following [URL] From that I think its related to a missing PnP HID-compliant Mouse driver or atleast there is a conflict but thats my speculation
System Specs:
Intel i7 975 3.33Ghz
6144MB DDR ram
Geforce GTX 560
Mobo P6X58D-E
PSU 1100 Tagan
i have a Toshiba laptop (wich is not very old) and the mouse stopped working, so far i have rolled back the driver, than i updated it again?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had windows 7 x64 for a while and suddenly, my USB mouse (OCZ Behemoth) stopped working. oddly, only the pointer stopped working, the clicker and scroll wheel work fine. It's a corded mouse, so no "new battery" comments.
WHAT I HAVE TRIED
Different port Device manager->Reinstall (it appeared as "Unknown USB device". it now appears as "USB Human Interface Device" but still does not work.) Rolled back using System Restore to yesterday when it worked, nothing. Rebooting Going into my WinXP x64 install, it works there putting the Behemoth in my laptop, it works. Using another USB mouse on my computer (doesn't work with 3 mice that work fine on other computers) Trying other USB devices in my ports (all ports work fine with a thumb drive, as well as USB devices that require power) POSSIBLE CAUSES
I recently set up a "guest" account on my computer. this is the only major change i can think of (this was removed when i used System Restore) IT IS NOT
Motherboard Drivers (USB works fine with other devices) OCZ drivers (no mouse works correctly) Mouse Battery (corded mouse) Bad install (it worked fine for the approximate month i had Windows 7 on my computer) Proprietary driver clash (self-built rig, not HP/Compaq/whatever) NOTES
I have not tried a PS/2 mouse or USB->PS/2 adapter because i do not own one. The "new hardware wizard" does not pop up upon a mouse insertion I am admin account.
My mouse has stopped working after i did some window's updates!, it's only a 4 mouse from asda in the UK, but was working fine before i did them. I went into my task manager and 2 of the USB's have warning's on them? Also this is the latest update that's killed my mouse.
Basically i installed some updates for nvidia to help my devices catch up with my win 7 pro install. Now however i have the issue that my ps/2 keyboard and touch pad mouse has stopped working and i'm having to use USB to actually use my laptop. Has anyone else found a solution to this at all. I have checked device manager and it say code 10 for the mouse not working and code 19 for the keyboard not working.
For background info i have a Dell Studio XPS running 64 bit Win 7 pro.
Been working fine all year. Most recently I had it in my netbook. I got a pop up that said the UDB device was not recognized. I tried to reinstall the microsoftintellipoint mouse software again but that didn't fix it.I then tried it in my other laptop which it has working in the past, and when i plugged in the receiver it the computer said it was an unrecognizable device.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a dell latitude with windows 7. After a year of usage the mouse clicks suddenly stopped working. Left clicks stopped working all together, right click sometimes work, but most of time it does other things. I suspect it's some malware. I run avg, spybot and malwarebytes, which found nothing. Checked the mouse settings in control panel, and didn't fine anything strange.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhile housecleaning I unplugged everything from my computer, dusted, and plugged everything back in, though I probably didn't put all the USB devices in the same order as before. Now my HDMI interface doesn't work, and the mouse and keyboard only work in safe mode. When I boot into normal mode, there's no cursor and no response to keyboard. What could have gone wrong?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was playing League of Legends when this happened and when the game loaded into the world the mouse just stopped responding and never kicked back on. I've restarted the computer, pulled the battery for a few minutes, turned legacy usb on/off, right click and uninstalled all universal USB controllers (then restarted to get windows to reinstall them), tried different mice on the problem computer, tried the mouse on a different computer (it worked), pretty much every solution i've found on the internet so far from people with similar issues of usb mice/keyboards suddenly stopping and never coming back using windows 7.I'm actually going to go to toshiba's website and check if they have any drivers that I could download/update.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUsually when using an internet browser (firefox or internet explorer) and windows explorer windows, I try to click to switch tabs and it doesn't respond. It shows (Not Responding) for a split second and won't switch tabs. I end up having to click a whole bunch of times before it switches.
This same kind of thing happens with explorer windows when trying to restore them from the minimized state. It just won't respond and multiple clicks are needed before seeing any action. This has been happening for awhile now but I figure it just may be another bug

View 4 Replies View Relatedi've been having a problem with my mouse, it clicks just once in a while, and, sometimes, it gets better with one window (program) but when I change to another program or desktop, it stops clicking again. It begun out of nowhere about 3 days ago. I run my pc on windows 7, I tried changing the usb port, the mouse and it doesn't work. What does help is doing a ctrl+alt+del, starting task manager and returning to windows, then, I can click on a single program and it begins to work (the mouse clicks) with it. Typing alt+tab also helps sometimes.
My xbox controller and keyboard are functioning normally. I recently updated my kaspersky to the latest version, but I tried deactivating it but I had no luck with the mouse. I'm thinking about returning to a previous kaspersky version, first, then, if that doesn't help, reinstalling the windows.
Ah, another thing that might help: i have windows vista on the same PC, same HD and, when I logged in it to see if the problem persisted, gess what, yes, the same mouse problem. That made me think of a hardware problem, but on all usb ports is odd. Can anyone help?
I installed Windows 7 a few months ago, everything was working fine until a few days.
A while after the computer is on, i want to click anymore neither with my touch pad nor with my external usb mouse....
The cursor moves normally but left click and right click won't work. if i do CTRL ALT DEL and cancel it works again for a while and then starts again.
The weird part, is it's not alway for the whole screen, sometimes i cannot click windows, sometimes i cannot click the tasl bar, sometimes both...
I really can't seem to find an answer to this problem, i've been thinking it might be a problem of screen refresh as the CTRL ALT DEL solves it for a few minutes, but I'm not sure... Can someone here help me please?
I can nove the cursor with the mouse, but multiple clicks will not fix a location so I can start typing

I built a pc a few days ago. It has windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. Today when i started it and i clicked on start it also right clicked on its own. As i was typing in MS Word in the middle of a sentence when i clicked the space bar the pc acted as if i right clicked on my mouse. I ran CCleaner it did not help. I uninstalled the usb drivers for the keyboard and mouse using USBDeview that didnt help either. I uninstalled naturally dragon 11 because it was the last install i did before i noticed
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy netbook, running windows 7 starter, no longer allows me to right click. Not in programs, not in folders, not on the desktop. I was using a USB mouse (which I tested on another mechine, the right click works fine there, so its not the mouse). After this problem started I tried a second usb mouse and the right-click on the built-in touch pad mouse. None of them worked. I have tried rebooting, I tried updating the drivers on my USB mouse. I havn't tried a system restor, hoping someone might know a fix that avoids that route.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI uninstalled the Interactual and Sonic Cineplayer software because that interfered with Windows Media Player and Power DVD v7.
I set my autoplay option for the DVD drive to "Always ask" for a DVD movie.
When I insert a DVD movie I get the autoplay option for WMP or PowerDVD.
Now everything works except for one quirk.
If I insert a DVD MOVIE, cancel the autoplay option and then simply mouse click on the DVD drive I get:
"Windows cannot access the specified device. path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
Any other type of DVD/CD works fine. IT IS JUST DVD MOVIES.
I think Interactual, which want to own the DVD drive, left some registry entry whereby it tries to re-install itsellf (I REALLY hate that software).
1) Any ideas as to what the POC Interactual software left behind an how to clean it?
2) Also, why, oh why, can't the Windows error message INCLUDE the "device, path, or file" NAME in the error message? (Pet Peeve #1) Are you listening Redmond?
I seem to remember that there was a setting that I could change to prevent a drop-down from appearing whenever I clicked on an icon. Now I am presented with a drop-down that has "OPEN' as it's top item.
