the list is just empty after loading. I've tried running sfc /scannow, system restoring back, I've ran a chkdsk on C:, I created a new admin account to see if it worked, I even tried this command: reg delete HKLMCOMPONENTS /v StoreDirty but still no luck.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium (SP1) on a fairly new machine.I ran malware and McAfee scans which were all clean. I also ran Aaron Stebner's .NET Framework setup verification tool (which was clean as well).I have been using a software program that uses "Microsoft .net 3.5".We have been having some issues with the program and were advised to turn on the following Windows features:Control Panel> Programs> Windows Features>Microsoft .Net 3.5>two checkmarks below thisI have repeatedly checked these, tow at a time, one at a time, etc and the system will give me a "wait message", state that all of the features could not be started and request a re-boot. 1. When i turn on my PC (use power button)
2. It's on then go to dual boot menu then I press enter on windows 7
3. Then, the normal boot appear (windows logo with "starting windows" text)
4. After that, the screen goes blank, just black screen without cursor
my vga and ram is ok, I already use the latest driver for my vga card I can start my win xp normally (my dual boot is win 7 and win xp) I can start my win 7 with safe mode and low resolution I also can start my win 7 normally after I force restart my PC with reset button?

when going to programs and features i find that my programs do not populate. is there another way to uninstall programs besides in programs and features? also, is there a setting in the program that I need to correct?

I've reinstalled Windows 7 prof. x64 twice (for a total of 3 installs). somewhere along the line of installing my standard programs 9all of which work, no issues, ect.) my "turn windows features on and off" box will go blank. I tried figuring out what program triggered this behavior by reinstalling and restarting after every program installed and checking the box. it was a different program that triggered the event from reinstall 1 to reinstall 2. so, that's telling me it's not a specific program that's triggering it. anyway, I don't have 2 hours to reinstall windows and my programs every night, so I'd like to know if there is a workaround (ie registry entries) that I can edit to enable features and programs. from my understanding of how "turn windows features on and off" works, it must only be changing a registry entry or editing a config file that tells the OS not to load those features, as in the documentation, it states that the programs and features are not uninstalled, they're just disabled.

After XPMode working flawlessly, it is all of a sudden giving me errors. When I lanuch it, it takes a very long time, the green bar goes all the way till the end where it says "Starting the virtual machine", then it errors out stating, "Could not enable integration features". I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.That is how the problem progressed:1. I was trying to enable Telnet service and found out that 'Turn Windows Features on/off' in Control panel > Programs and Features is a blank list.I checked on internet and i found out that it means my windows update wont be working as well so i check it:2. Windows update gives the error 80070002 and it does not check for updates.. Again check net and it said to run sfc/scannow in command prompt (as administrator). I dont have Windows CD coz my laptop came installed with windows.

I just built a PC and mainly want my Windows 7 experience to be that of Home Premium, except for just a couple of extra features I wanted. That probably doessn't sound so smart, since I paid for ultimate, but I can explain (sort of). So how different are the menu selections etc between Ultimate and Home Premium.

What surprised me was that the Audio was somehow disabled...or uninstalled...When I tried right clicking that audio icon in the taskbar, it asked me to install an audio device, since it was detecting some sort of problem in the audio:

I wish I could tell you more details about it, but I just can't describe what happened. I don't even know what happened...maybe I tweaked the computer settings by accident and then made the changes after it rebooted. And by the way, the network settings were also somewhat configured, says I'm not connected to anything (well in fact I have a fully functional broadband radio connected).
I was on the permissions for drive C, because I didn't want standard user changing setting on there and when I clicked OK windows came up with an error and then when I tried to go back on to the permission change window it said " access denied" and I Now can't Change it back, I Can't do anything with admin features and I can't system restore.

fter completing a Toshibe laptop checkup, the Toshiba laptop program suggested I follow certain steps to help my laptop run faster. Among many other steps, they said to delete un-neccesary files in Programs and Feautures. I did, and I thought I didn't delete anything important, but now I can't connect to my wifi. I think it might be something I deleted. How do I re-install something from Programs and Features after it's been deleted?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a custom PC for the past year and my main Windows 7 boot drive was giving my some aggravating problems. Board is an EVGA P67 SLI with a Crucial C300 128GB SSD as the main boot drive in the SATA3 location. I've seen MANY cases where people were having some slowing speeds with the drive and I finally came along with that problem as well, and since I only use the drive to boot up I figured a reformat would be a nice way to simply start over.
Regardless, I have 2 other mechanical hard drives one in which stores everything from Steam Games to Ventrilo and other software. The other is simply used for personal things like Pictures, Music, and Videos. My "Programs Drive" is simply like the "Program Files" of your typical C: drive really. Everything I can put on that one goes on that one and basically I use the SSD for the start up times since P67 doesn't support caching like the Z68s do.
My issue is, now that I've reformatted my main SSD drive when it comes to playing my games I'm only able to play whatever is through Steam. If it isn't through Steam then it simply doesn't run. Even when I actually try re-installing it again just for registry purposes it doesn't go through. Obviously my "Programs & Features" selection is a bit empty right now because nothing is registered on my main drive. Should probably look into doing that at some point as well with Steam and all of the installed games.
Can I redirect the Link in Control Panel that uninstalls a program to iobitunistaller?
