View 1 RepliesAfter XPMode working flawlessly, it is all of a sudden giving me errors. When I lanuch it, it takes a very long time, the green bar goes all the way till the end where it says "Starting the virtual machine", then it errors out stating, "Could not enable integration features". Nothing was changed. I cant use my XPMode applications either.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem running some programs in XP mode (Windows 7 Ultimate x64). Roxio Creator 2009 gives me a message that 'Remote Desktop is not supported by this application'. Not sure what RD has to do with Roxio but, I looked in Device Manager and have 3 yellow ? (like many others I've read) for Virtual PC Integration Device. I've tried to let XP find the drivers on it's own but it does not. I'm not even sure if this has anything to do with my problems running programs but assume it does.
So, are there drivers available for this Virtual PC device and if so where?
Also, what should I see under Display Driver? My video card is not listed but as I'm not a Virtual PC user, this might be normal.
You know how you can integrate service packs into windows and create an Windows installation disk with service packs included? Can you do the samething with Software programs like Office.....etc.
Is this a programmer thing? I know from my own system I can use a Ghost like program and create an image of my drive. I am not talking about that though. I am talking pure installation with programs pre-loaded on the disk to save time on haveing to install them.
Is there a software program out there that can do this?
I am trying to install NET Framework 2.0 SP1 on Windows 7. This is a brand new install, the only apps I have installed are Office 2007 PRO, and Adobe Reader 9.0. I get the following error:
You must use "Turn Windows features on or off" in the Control Panel to install or configure Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 SP1.
fter completing a Toshibe laptop checkup, the Toshiba laptop program suggested I follow certain steps to help my laptop run faster. Among many other steps, they said to delete un-neccesary files in Programs and Feautures. I did, and I thought I didn't delete anything important, but now I can't connect to my wifi. I think it might be something I deleted. How do I re-install something from Programs and Features after it's been deleted?

I'm trying to install 7 on a VHD using the command prompt. Now it does work but the problem is that it installs 7 Basic when I do it like this. I have Professional. Now I can use the Anytime Upgrade and use my product key to get Pro activated but because I'm in basic, 7 won't work on the VHD at boot. When it asks for my product key upon first time setup, it doesn't work since it's looking for a Basic product key.
Is there a way to get 7 Pro on the VHD through the CMD?
I upgraded to Windows 7, but I have a few software I installed on Virtual PC 2007 before. I use XP mode but can't find a way to use the virtual HD created with Virtual PC 2007. Is there a way to convert the virtual HD so that XP mode can recognize?

View 0 Replies View RelatedI recently installed the XP mode beta for Windows 7, and to me it just seems to be a version of XP tailored for virtualization, which falls quite short of my expectations.
I haven't used it extensively though, so, while I think it's unlikely, is it possible for me to say, install a game controller for Windows XP, then use it with a Windows 7 application?
I would try it, but the controller in question had a rather lengthy install process, and I'd like to know that before I spend all this time to find out something is useless.
I'm about to try and get a hackintosh running. And this needs to be OSX Lion since my graphics card is not supported in Leopard Snow. Problem is, to my knowledge, Lion is only installable from within OSX Leopard Snow. But since I can't run Leopard Snow, I'm sort of stuck.
My question is, would it be possible to install an operating system on a HDD from within a virtual machine? Such as VMware or virtualbox. Because then I'd be able to push the OS into the harddrive and then just boot of the harddrive?
What I've done:
1. Boot from Windows 7 DVD
2. Shift-F10 to command prompt
3. created the vdisk
4. selected the vdisk
5. attached the vdisk
6. exit back to install screens
When I select my vhd I get the normal message saying it cannot install but when I click the Next button, I get an error saying there isn't enough free space on the selected device but it shows the whole drive as free space. It won't let me continue with the install.I've tried creating the partition from diskpart and it still doesn't work.
