View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm running Dell Inspiron 1525 Windows 7 64-bit and having problems with my beatuful dell touchpad, which works just fine except horizontal and vertical scrolling. I have already read some materials on the web and have downloaded of couble of useless stuff but the problems hasn't gone. I like my Dell Inspiron 1525, but the 64-bit drivers really suck.
On another partiiton I'm running SuSE and it looks much better than Windows 7.
I have a dell inspiron 1525 with 2gb ran dual core and i downloaded the upgrade advisor for windows 7 and it said that it has all the requirements to run windows 7 but I just want to make sure...
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to do a clean installation of Windows 7 x86 on my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop that I bought in July 2008. It's been running Windows Vista 32-bit without any trouble. Yesterday I purchased the Windows 7 Professional 32-bit upgrade from Digital River and downloaded the ISO. I've burned it onto two separate DVDs using different software and a different computer each time (the second time I used Alcohol 120% and made sure that it was on the slowest setting). Now I'm downloading the iso again.
Each time I try to install it (which has been many times, now, trying different configurations of partitions, etc) I get the error message "Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070570"
I've read through just about every thread I could find on this site and others and nothing seems to help. The only thing I haven't done is mess with the RAM, but I'd prefer not to do that as I don't have any experience opening up laptops (although I have built three desktops).
Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?
are there any windows7 drivers available for dell inspiron 1525 ?

In the dell's web site isn't officially supported, but you can try with the vista drivers, sometimes are the same for win 7.
Recently i updated my Dell inspiron 1525 to windows 7 64 bit problem is i can't seem to find the latest drivers compatible for this version.

Whenever I play any DVD it either locks up the drive, explorer and the wait chain says that its waiting for network io or the playback comes out garbled. Usually this happens if I boot up the PC and then warm reboot it and the drive won't even eject. I have forced ejected it with a paper clip but explorer doesn't even recognize that it just finally starts to spin up the drive outside the pc. and an attempted bios update but that almost fried my motherboard but it flashed itself back to A13 from A17 automatically. the Drive I am using is pbds dvd+-rw ds-8w1p

View 1 Replies View RelatedOK so I have tried deleting the touchpad in device manager and removing the driver, and reinstalling the device from scratch. When this didn't work I thought there must be a problem with the touchpad itself and so bought a new one and installed it. Problem is it still doesn't work.If I go into device manager and look for it I have to show hidden devices and then it comes up with the yellow triangle next to it.I show properties on it and it says its the Dell Touchpad, Manufacturer is Alps Electronics, and its plugged into the PS/2 mouse port.In the Device Status box it says:This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)The Driver date is 02/05/2010 and the version is 7.1107.115.102I have also noticed that on the details tab under power data the current power state is D3, which I believe is off.Something else I have noticed which may or may not be related is that the laptop doesn't enter sleep mode when the lid is closed, altho it is set to and will enter sleep if I select it in the shutdown options.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am aware that there is another thread relating to scrolling issues that includes some of the problem that I am having but it does not solve all my questions.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit on my Dell Inspiron 1526. However my touchpad does not have it's same functionality. The scroll does not work and I cannot disable it. In Vista 32 my touchpad used to disable automatically when I plugged in a mouse. I found an ALPS driver (from the previous thread) that enables me to scroll without bugs but it does not let me modify my touchpad in anyway. I also found a Synaptics driver that lets me disable my touchpad manually, but it will not scroll.
My touchpad is not actually recognized as a touchpad but as a "Standard Pointing Device". I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a driver that would grant me the same functionality that I had in Vista 32 or at least let my touchpad actually be recognized on my computer. It is rather annoying constantly having to switch drivers.
I turned of my touch pad using 'FN+F9' and now my 'FN' key is spoilt. Is there away to turn it back on without the 'FN' key?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a DELL XPS M1530 laptop that I just installed a full version of Windows 7. It had Windows Vista on it before. It is a replacement computer for my old DELL (same model) that was having issues.I usually hook up a bluetooth mouse when I use my computer, but I just noticed last night when I was using the touchpad instead, is that it does not scroll up and down, or left to right. The mouse part of the touchpad works fine, as does the left and right buttons.

View 8 Replies View RelatedA couple days ago, my keyboard and touchpad mouse stopped working. I thought it was a hardware issue and ordered a replacement keyboard. As for the touchpad, I'm just using a wireless mouse. I replaced the keyboard a couple days later with the new one, and when I turned on my laptop, it works again, but when I put my laptop to sleep and wake it up, I hit enter, and then it stops working. I cannot type anything until I restart my computer. I figured it has to do something with the drivers, but I'm not too sure. Here is my computer specs:
Product: HP Pavilion dv9700
Model: dv9925nr
Windows 7 home premium 64bit
I've gone to the HP website to get the drivers, but they do not support windows 7 for my computer.
Occasionally, my laptop's touchpad won't work on start-up. This does not happen all the time, it appears to happen every other boot. I can plug a USB mouse at any moment and have that work fine. This also only happens on Windows 7 from what I can tell, as I dual-boot with Ubuntu and Ubuntu has never given me this problem before. I can also use safe mode with Windows 7 and have the touchpad function fine all the time.
