View 1 Replies View RelatedOK so I have tried deleting the touchpad in device manager and removing the driver, and reinstalling the device from scratch. When this didn't work I thought there must be a problem with the touchpad itself and so bought a new one and installed it. Problem is it still doesn't work.If I go into device manager and look for it I have to show hidden devices and then it comes up with the yellow triangle next to it.I show properties on it and it says its the Dell Touchpad, Manufacturer is Alps Electronics, and its plugged into the PS/2 mouse port.In the Device Status box it says:This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)The Driver date is 02/05/2010 and the version is 7.1107.115.102I have also noticed that on the details tab under power data the current power state is D3, which I believe is off.Something else I have noticed which may or may not be related is that the laptop doesn't enter sleep mode when the lid is closed, altho it is set to and will enter sleep if I select it in the shutdown options.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am aware that there is another thread relating to scrolling issues that includes some of the problem that I am having but it does not solve all my questions.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit on my Dell Inspiron 1526. However my touchpad does not have it's same functionality. The scroll does not work and I cannot disable it. In Vista 32 my touchpad used to disable automatically when I plugged in a mouse. I found an ALPS driver (from the previous thread) that enables me to scroll without bugs but it does not let me modify my touchpad in anyway. I also found a Synaptics driver that lets me disable my touchpad manually, but it will not scroll.
My touchpad is not actually recognized as a touchpad but as a "Standard Pointing Device". I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a driver that would grant me the same functionality that I had in Vista 32 or at least let my touchpad actually be recognized on my computer. It is rather annoying constantly having to switch drivers.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had this problem since installing windows 7 beta, and have not been able to find a fix, so here i go...
I have a Dell XPS m1330 and exactly 50% of the time my dell synaptics touchpad mouse driver does not work. What I mean by that is every other time i boot my computer device manager says "code 10: device cannot start". I have tried installing the lastest Dell Vista drivers for the touchpad, and I have even gone straight to synaptics website and downloaded their latest drivers as well. Neither fixed the problem.
I have a problem with touchpad driver on my Laptop - Dell Vostro A860
Dell supports only Vista32 drivers - so i was thinking that i can use Compatibility Mode in Windows7. Negative !
Compatibility mode don't work and my touchpad is not installed.
Dell put on board (ALPS touchpads).
Is there anyone who have similar problem and fixe it ?
I've been having problems with my sound card drivers ever since I upgraded to Windows 7 64 from Windows Vista 32. I must admit I messed up by not writing down what specific sound card is in this laptop (Dell Inspiron 1520) and I have not been able to find any drivers from Dell.com.
I do have a CD that originally came with my computer thats labeled "Creative Sound Blaster Audigy" so I was assuming thats the type of sound card I have? When I look in Device Manager all it says is "High Def. Audio Device". Additionally whenever I do try to install either the SigamaTel Audio drivers from Dell or the Audigy drivers from Creative they just say the device is not supported. So I'm at a loss as to what to do!
I noticed this problem when I couldn't use a microphone (which although old) that until the upgrade had worked perfectly. Now when I plug it in Windows Seven just says it's a "Line In". What in earth does this mean?
I'm not too knowledgeable about drivers but I wish to learn. I've noticed that there are a lot of great people on this forum helping each other out so if you guys could assist me in finding a solution I would really appreciate it. I would love to be able to talk to my buddies over Ventrillo again!
i have a Dell 1520 that origanlly had Vista on it, it also has a D: partition that is a restore partiton of 10gigs (for Vista). i have upgraded to Windows 7 but that partiton is still there. my question is, is it poosible to create a Windows 7 restore partition to repace the Vista restore partition, and if so how? , or can i just reclaim that 10Gigs since i dont think i will be going back to Vista.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a small issue with my Dell 1520 laptop and my netgear router, it seem that the laptop is either dropping or not finding my network, i can set the mac address an ip address in my router, and the laptop will find the address and will work, use it for few day without an issue, then when i turn it off and turn it on the next day it cannot find the network again. even when i right click on my network and tell it to connect it will not connect.
there are 2 wireless adapters on the laptop one is a intel pro wireless adapter 3945, and a broadcom 440x integrated controller. ( i am thinking there is conflict ) i can connect with no problem with a cable to the latop, both the intell and broadcom's addresses are in the router.

The software will not be installed."
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 700m. I can't find a video (graphic) driver for it. I went to Dell support website but can't find the right driver. I understand Dell doesn't support this model for Vista or Windows 7. I even google for the driver. Quite a few people have the same problem. Do you happen to know a driver to take its place? I went to Device Manager and it shows that I'm missing the Video Controller.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running Dell Inspiron 1525 Windows 7 64-bit and having problems with my beatuful dell touchpad, which works just fine except horizontal and vertical scrolling. I have already read some materials on the web and have downloaded of couble of useless stuff but the problems hasn't gone. I like my Dell Inspiron 1525, but the 64-bit drivers really suck.
On another partiiton I'm running SuSE and it looks much better than Windows 7.
Kindly give Dell Inspiron 1420 web cam driver for win7.
Answer:-
1- Always try first in the web page of the manufacturer of the PC or laptop.
2- You would never get the answer to your mail.
3- See the below link, use the vista driver, if doesn't work, your web cam isn't supported for win 7. But I think that your web cam should work with the vista driver or win 7 install the correct driver from internet.
