View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Toshiba Laptop running on Windows 7. For the past week or so every time i turn on the laptop the entire computer seizes up and I can't do anything on it at all. At first it only did this after being on for an hour or two but since a windows automatic update it has become much worse and only lasts from 10 to 30 minutes. I have tried restoring to a previous date, CCleaner and Defraggler but as of yet it has not worked. The only time I get any use out of it is when it is on safe mode but it is not practical as I can't use many of the features I need to be able to do my work.

I am using Windows 7 & Norton Internet Security. How can I correct it so that it starts with wireless capability.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a desktop computer, and have a D-Link DWA-510 wireless network adapter installed. Though I cannot pick up any wireless networks even though I know there are wireless networks as my iPhone picks them up.
I have tried the following:
1/ Clicking on the wireless/internet icon (not sure what to called it, it's the icon that brings up network and sharing) located on the bottom right of the bottom task bar. though no networks show up.
2/ Adding a new wirless network via 'Network and Sharing' option - though when windows does a search for networks it never stops searching.
3/ Installing the new drivers from the D-Link website
If I look at the back of the tower the network card that I have the external antenna connected to has one static green light lit. So I gather it is installed correctly as it is lit and it was installed when I brought the computer, although if I go to device manager it is not listed under Networks?!. I have triedto search on turning the wireless capability on though I cannot find a solution that actualy turns it on.
Just yesterday my I year old punched the keyboard of my Notebook here and there when I was working. I show a couple of dialogs popping up and getting closed when he was punching. And all of sudden I lost my wireless connection, in a strange way.
The WIFI card is disabled, the physical button on the laptop is red indicating that it is disabled. When I press it to switch the wifi back on, the switch dont respond WWhen I run network diagnostic: error is: Wireless capability is turned off. But I see no option to turn it on. I checked the network adapters through the Control panel and also in the device manager. They are up and running. No yellow sign, no ! marks. Restarted several times. No change. Restarted in safe mode. Deleted the device in device manager and reinstalled. No change. Disabled firewall. No change. (DO I need to restart after disabling?) Checked the manual for Key combinations to toggle wireless on off. But there were non.
Where is the switch on the front or side of the computer, or function keys if available, to enable wireless capability on the Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a fairly new Toshiba Satellite P755 laptop and just started having an issue connecting to my Netgear wireless internet network since yesterday. The issue is that every time I turn on my laptop after it was off or hibernated my computer won't connect to my wireless network but I do see it available to connect to. When I try to connect it won't work unless I reset or unplug the router and plug it in again (Windows Diagnostic Tool says check router access points). Once I do that and wait a couple minutes I can connect to my network again. I have a Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless card and made sure my drivers were up to date. I have tried unchecking the option under Device Manager to not use it if the battery is low and that didn't work. I also tried to system restore and when I did that I got the following error: (0xc0000022) which says an unspecified error occurred and my files and settings were not changed. I have AVG Free 2013 and haven't made any new changes or updates recently.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have this problem where the wireless wont work after the power has been turned off and then back on. they use a power box for the main pc, modem and router and turn it off before they go to sleep to save on electricity costs. usually, my fix is to unplug the router, turn the modem off.. turn it back on and the router back on. from time to time the wireless will work after the power has been turned back on, but its either very slow or the connection goes in and out. i'm sick of having to reset everything before i want to use my laptop.
