Apr 30, 2012I have a Toshiba Satellite A505-S6965. I have an issue with my keyboard and trackpad not working after windows loads. Keyboard will work in BIOS but when windows loads it stops working and isn't even in Device manager unless the PS/2 keyboard is the keyboard on this laptop (not sure). I've tried taking battery out and holding the power button for 5-15 secs then booting back up with out success. I've tried putting the BIOS to default settings with out success. I've tried looking for the drivers but there seems to be nothing for the keyboard and the trackpad drivers are downloaded and installed but still doesn't show up in device manager nor work.
Everything that has happened up to this point
Downloaded Aion (the Game)
Downloaded Ventrillo
Downloaded Game Booster
Took laptop to my dad house turned it on keyboard and trackpad stopped working
If the trackpad isn't hooked up with the keyboard not work as well? I noticed a wire bent on the trackpad ribbion tried to fix it fell off. But even after it fell off trackpad and keyboard worked. What all can cause the keyboard and trackpad to stop working?

Apr 17, 2012I have a Dell Vostro 1050 with 2Gb RAM and 320 HDD space. i bought this laptop new and it worked for just one day and the following day when i started it in the morning after like 5 minutes, nothing was responding. i mean the curse wasn't moving, the key board keys not working and nothing was responding till when i had to long press the power button and turned it off. Turning it back on it worked for the next 30 minutes, then it froze again. i have tried changing the RAM chips and Used Different HDD's but all in vain.

Apr 9, 2011I just had to do a reinstall of my Window's 7 and since have had a problem with 2 keys on my keyboard. When I use the apostrophe key, nothing happens, but when I type something after, it appears. It's no big deal really, but I'm rather anal and it just bugs me when something isn't working right.
I have used search here at SF and gone through the tutorials, but can't find anything that quite matches. I tried to update driver's but the little box on the screen tells me driver's are up to date. I checked Device Manager and it doesn't indicate any problem. I checked Keyboard in Control Panel and it says the device is working properly.

Feb 12, 2013I was playing League of Legends when this happened and when the game loaded into the world the mouse just stopped responding and never kicked back on. I've restarted the computer, pulled the battery for a few minutes, turned legacy usb on/off, right click and uninstalled all universal USB controllers (then restarted to get windows to reinstall them), tried different mice on the problem computer, tried the mouse on a different computer (it worked), pretty much every solution i've found on the internet so far from people with similar issues of usb mice/keyboards suddenly stopping and never coming back using windows 7.I'm actually going to go to toshiba's website and check if they have any drivers that I could download/update.

Aug 7, 2009Ok, my Toshiba Satellite laptop originally had Windows Vista on it, I then downloaded Windows 7 but today i went back to Vista because some things weren't supported like my brightness settings and stuff. however. Now that I went back, my computer seems alot slower. Also it never auto connects to the internet when I turn it on. I always have to "diagnose and repair" to get it started. The worst thing is though is I had absolutely no drivers.
I have no disk for my pc so I had to go on my other pc, download the correct internet driver, install it on my laptop then manually download all the drivers i thought I needed. Well, everything is working except for the slowness of the pc still and my audio! It sounds like crap. It used to sound soooo good for a laptop. So I updated drivers but then it gave me an error and said it wont work correctly and then it disabled my audio completely. So I rolled back my driver and now it just sounds like crap again.
Its literally so much of a difference that i dont even want to listen to music or play my games because the sound was one of the reasons I got this laptop. I hardly doubt anyone can help me because you'd have to have my specific model and drivers to figure it out. Man, I just dont know what to do. I fear there is nothing I can do
EDIT: Although, now I think I'm going insane. I feel sick to my stomach whenever I mess something up. At this point, I cant tell if the sound thing is in my mind or not. I mean, it always seemed so good. When i play music, it seems good at times but at other times it doesn't. I'm pretty sure its bad though. I wish I could just send this somewhere and get it all taken care of.
EDIT AGAIN: Phew, I fixed the audio problem by switching some settings. Man am a relived. Now I just gotta work on reinstalling things But I still dont know what drivers I'm missing and also why my computer seems so slow. Also there is a 30 second gap in between the loading bar boot and the vista logo sequence. I dont remember that before but its not the biggest deal.
Man... Edit again: Just wondering if anyone would upload all the different Windows sounds in Windows 7. I liked one of the themes and want to use it in Vista but forgot to back it up.
