Yesterday I was using my laptop, everything was working fine, I left it for a couple of hours whilst I went away to do something else, when I came back it was in Standby Mode, I powered on & I noticed that my wireless wasn't picking up my network, I tried multiple restarts, installing the device driver again & switching to switch on the side to no avail it just has a Orange light & does nothing.
I'm having a problem where my headset w/ mic randomly pops up that i unplugged and plugged a device in. If it does that my mic stops working and i have to replug it to get it to work again.
I have had this problem not being able to turn on the wireless radio for months. I have to get it turned on now. When I press <fn> F5 I can see the wireless radio is off. I see the power on button. When I select the power on button nothing happens. I expect the wireless radio to power on.I have tried fixing the winsock. I have run this MS fix at: How to determine and to recover from Winsock2 corruption in Windows Server 2003, in Windows XP, and in Windows Vista And I have run this bat file
** Start of bat file called renew-ip-reset-winsock.bat ipconfig /release pause ipconfig /renew
I recently bought a new cisco e2000 router and had no problem connecting to it on all the devices in the house (about 10 of them)Just now, all the devices in my room (ipod, netbook, phone, and laptop) lost a connection to the router and no matter where I am in the house none of these 4 devices can get a connection. I can see other networks, just not mine. They all worked perfectly fine before, and out of nowhere they stopped working. Other devices that were not in my room at the time of this 'wifi surge' still have a connection to the router. The wired connection works and that's how I'm typing this right now.
Last night my router was working fine, and then all of a sudden my Internet stopped working. when i woke up i figured out that with a Ethernet cord the Internet works, but going wireless doesn't work. its not in my computer since it also wont work on my ps3.
When i try to connect to it, it either says it cannot connect, or connects and says i have Internet but doesn't let me actually load anything.
My Netgear WGR614 Router stopped working on wireless the other day. Still worked fine..Ok so I bought a new Netgear WNR3500L yesterday. Set up was easy and I thought all was well. My computer for some reason called it a new network and named it network 3.The crazy thing is some internet sites will not load. My Hotmail which I access through Windows live mail will not load.( but my normal email works fine). nor will it load going straight to Hotmail ....any site that I have to logo onto will not go any further that the log in page. It's like something is blocking certain sites. Yes, I turned off the fire wall and my anti virus and still the same. My laptop however connected by wireless to the new router, will work perfectly which tells me the router is fine.I reset up the old router(which now the wireless works) and all is well. My computer calls and did call before all of this just plain network!
I've had my laptop for about a year now and suddenly I've had this random freezes. Freezes are momentary and when it goes back to working properly a message shows up saying "display driver stopped responding and has recovered". I've ran malwarebytes and super antispyware and there's no problem. What should my next step be?
My computer is unable access my router. The power went out for a second and clearly that did something. I have an HP p7-1174 desk top, running Windows 7 Home Premium x64. The processor is an AMD A8-3800.
There are now several devices in the manager with yellow exclamation points, all relegated to the LAN. I get a Code 31, unable to load drivers message. I ran the sfc scan and there were no integrity violations. I tried updating drivers without any luck. My router is working fine because my laptop and iPad both work online.
The problem seems to be that Windows can't load the drivers for my 802.11n wireless LAN card. I tried updating drivers but it said the driver was up to date. I tried changing manually but the only two listed were the same and when I clicked one, it said Windows was unable to load.
I have a HP G62-371DX Notebook that I have been using to access the internet. Lately I have been experiencing random disconnects that will last from maybe 30 seconds to 2 minutes. They will happen maybe every hour or two and are becoming really annoying. At first I was using the laptops wifi abilities to connect to my router. So when these disconnects began to happen I tried plugging in an Ethernet cable into the router and still experience the same disconnects. The only other devices in the house that experience this is the xbox 360 which is connected with an ethernet cable aswell. The router that I had was an old netgear router, but in the past week we got a new router which is a SMCD3GNV. I have only had it working today and I had the problem maybe 3-4 times within the first 12 hours (with both the wifi and ethernet connection). I have tried updating the firmware and resetting the router and modem.
Last night my HP laptop was working just fine with zero issues. Today I turned it on and my keyboard didn't work and also saying that no battery was detected. Now if I turn it on with a power cord attached I can remove the power cord and the laptop stays turned on, I can also shut the lid and the laptop will stay powered on. However if I use the shut down function or turn it off by the power switch it will not power back up without the power cord attached. The keyboard just refuses to work none of the keys work. No fn key no alt key no ctrl key nothing. I can't turn wireless on or off using the F key, however the on-screen keyboard works fine, and so does a keyboard that is plugged in through usb.I have checked the drivers which says it is working properly, I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, which didn't fix it.I Googled this problem and read that a bios update might fix this, I updated it and nothing as well as doing the usual virus and malware scans with the likes of malwarebytes and MSE.
I was importing CDs today when iTune stopped working. I then closed iTunes and I can not get it open again. I have reloaded iTunes. I am on Windows 7. HP Pavilion. I have seen several posts on Apple Support which have not worked.
just noticed few day now that there is no sound at all coming from my laptop.and also noticed the heat underneath sometimes its to hot to put hand there for more than a second.that cant be right.so i guessed my fans stopped working. i used a program to check my fan speed and it confirmed what i thought. they have stopped, no idea why though.this is screen shot of the program with the results.
Basically i installed some updates for nvidia to help my devices catch up with my win 7 pro install. Now however i have the issue that my ps/2 keyboard and touch pad mouse has stopped working and i'm having to use USB to actually use my laptop. Has anyone else found a solution to this at all. I have checked device manager and it say code 10 for the mouse not working and code 19 for the keyboard not working.
For background info i have a Dell Studio XPS running 64 bit Win 7 pro.
I have an older Dell Inspiron 5100 that's been rock solid since day one. I recently transferred all my music from my PC to my Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex so I could organize my files while I was out of town on business. When I got to my hotel and plugged the Seagate into the USB port the laptop would not recognize it. There's two USB ports, one of the USB ports does nothing at all when I plug the drive in (not even a 'Ding-Dong' sound). The other port at least responds but still not recognized. By "responds" I mean Windows responds with a "Dunn..." sound; not the happy two tone sound of a device actually being recognized and available, just a "Dunn..."I've used this drive before on this laptop on several occasions so I know it's compatible. I also came home and plugged to drive back into the PC to see if the drive itself responds. It does, and all files are there and happy. Also, when plugged into the non-responsive USB slot the light on the drive blinks a couple times, the platters spool up for 15 or so seconds then goes out. When plugged into the other USB slot (the one that goes "Dunn...") the light comes on and stays on and the platters spin untill I unplug the device. But it's still not recognized.
Asus Laptop Windows 7 is on but it doesnt start and ERROR appears on the screen. It shows all the time "window explorer has stopped working" when ever I want to delete any file this this will appear, what can I do?
Recently my computer has been force closing applications like Photoshop and Windows Explorer. It usually happens when I right click in Explorer or try to open anything in Photoshop. When it happens, a dialogue box comes up that says "Windows Explorer has stopped working" or "Adobe Photoshop has stopped working" Under the details it displays this information:
Problem signature: Problem Event Name:APPCRASH Application Name:Explorer.EXE Application Version:6.1.7600.16768 Application Timestamp:4d688122
I just noticed today that when i try playing .avi's with ac3 audio, which usually pop up with a dolby digital logo on wmp have stopped playing. I get only the video and have tried a few things like turn off and on media features, as well as sfc/scannow (says no problems) nothing is making it work agian. The last time I played one of these files with success is 7/3/11. Today i turned on the P.C with the problem and let windows do a simple update, and updated ccleaner. Did some wmp reg audio key get deleted? How to I uninstall wmp and reinstall it if i can?
why does my internet always after like 5 min go to no internet acsess and i disconect and reconect its fine ?both regular computers work fine but my ps3 and laptop both work then all of a sudden the little yellow ! comes up and then it says no internet access
I'm not quite sure what happened but my wireless card just stopped picking up a signal. I went and looked at all the cords there all plugged in correctly. I even pulled the card out put it back in and plugged all the wires back up to it. the computer picks up the card, the card just doesn't pick up any signal. the router is brand new i set it up i even reset it and it still wouldn't pick up a signal.s?
I recently purchased a D-Link Wireless N 150 Roiuter (DIR-524).I have a home network of 2 desktops (both wired) , one running Windows 7 Ultimate, another Windows XP and the third is a Laptop (wireless) with Windows 7 Home Premium. My Laptop easily connected to the router as did the Windows XP. But the other desktop with Windows 7 Ultimate has become abominably slow and is randomly freezing.
Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate 2.4GHz P4 Processor 2GB RAM VIA motherboard (P4M266A)
A few days ago my computer (an ASUS Eee Netbook) suddenly stopped being able to connect to the wireless network in my apartment, seemingly for no reason whatsoever. It had been working fine earlier in the day, I went out for about an hour (didn't even shut the computer down), returned home and was unable to connect to the network. The computer can locate the network and continues to attempt connecting to it with no luck. I can connect to other networks without any trouble. It has never done this before. I've rebooted the computer several times and performed a System Restore, but without any success. I'm hesitant to reset the router as this is a shared connection with the other people in my apartment (who as far as I know aren't having any trouble with the connection).
I've got an older Acer Timeline 4810t running Windows 7. We recently switched from Cox Cable internet to AT&T U-Verse, and I've started noticing that my internet connection will randomly go out when I am connected. This occurs whether I am on a wired or wireless connection. Specifically, I will be browsing the web and, randomly, when I try to pull up a website, I get an error indicating that I cannot connect to that website because I am not connected to the internet. When I check the status of my connection in the bottom right corner, it will show that I am connected to the internet. If I disconnect the ethernet cable (or disconnect and reconnect to the wifi network), the internet service is restored, although it continues to randomly lose connection.
I initially thought that it was a U-Verse issue, so AT&T came out and replaced the router. Unfortunately, I still got the random drops. I then thought it was a Windows issue, so I reformatted by hard drive and reinstalled Windows - still having that issue. My wife has an older Macbook and does not have this problem. We also do not have this problem with any of the tablets or phones that connect to the network wirelessly.I am beyond frustrated and do not know what to do. I also don't know if this is a sign that my laptop is at the end of its life, which would be unfortunate since I've only owned the laptop for about 3 years (my last laptop, a Dell, is on year 7 and still churning).
Wifi on my laptop suddenly stopped working. It has full bars but I cannot access any websites in any browser (Chrome/Firefox). I also cannot access itunes store. I keep seeing a yellow exclamation mark appear on my wifi signal then it vanishes by itself.
The USB's stopped working on my PC. I recently purchased it about a month ago and I think something was installed or was added to the computer because it stopped working all of a sudden.

For nearly half of the .exe files I attempt to open, I get this stupid "---.exe has stopped working" (where --- represents the name of the file). The files I'm trying to open are not video game files, but rather program files.I am currently working on a 64-bit system. I have only had this machine for 2.5 weeks.
