Stream Windows 7 Library To Windows XP PC Using WMP?
Jan 3, 2011
I'm having trouble configuring sharing in WMP between my Windows 7 laptop and XP desktop. I've gotten it to be able to stream my XP media onto 7, but is there any way I can make the 7 stuff stream to the desktop?
Trying to stream netflix with new desktop running windows7 64bit, but they only support 32bit. Can someone assist with changing options on pc to operate in 32bit
We recently installed Yahoo messenger and suddenly the Library folder isn't showing any folders/files under the Administrator account. When I go to create a new Library it reads the following error message: "Unable to create the new file 'New Library.library-ms' File System Error: (16389)." Not only is the library no longer accessible, but I cannot access any of the Music, Pictures or Documents from the Start Menu.I am only able to access the folders using the search bar by selecting "User Name" from the drop down box, then suddenly everything's there. It will not allow me to drag/drop anything into the Library folder or even create a new one.
Libraries are one of the coolest features introduced by Windows 7. They can help people organize their files and folders very efficiently. By using libraries, you can easily build a system so that you can always find what you want in seconds. Not only that, but you can also sort, tag or edit files and folders with just a few clicks. In this article I will explain what libraries are, show how they work and how to create new ones. Also, I'll show how to add new folders to a library, how to modify its properties and how to delete a library.
So this really isnt a technical issue persay but it bugs the hell out of me and I want to know if there is a way to fix it. My video library use to look like this as you can see, nothing unusual. Now, I have an SSD and a 500G HDD so my main storage drive isnt the "C" drive but the second one. i went to the video library to add a video folder on the second HDD "E" and this happens I dont want it to list each source and tell me what videos I have from it. like in the first picture i want it to tell me at the top how many sources it is pulling from and then show them all in one nice folder.
I am using a DVB-T receiver Intel CE9500 without any problems under XP. With Windows 7 the DVB-stream is interrupted every 2 or 3 seconds for 1 second. I am using DVBviewer, that requires BDA drivers and under Windows 7 I am using the system default MPEG2 decoder.
The driver for Windows 7 was found by Windows Update "Intel CE9500 DVB-T (Enh) Receiver" v 2.1.0.136
I've got a TV Tuner in my PC, is it possible to stream it via Windows Media Center straight to my Xbox? If so, is it possible to record things straight to my Xbox?
I would like to stream my tv shows I record in Media Center to the tv in my livingroom. My PC is in my bedroom. The hdtv in the bedroom has a hdmi input, but the tv in the livingroom has a rca input. Is there a way that I can stream the tv shows into the livingroom? I have been on computer for two hours trying to find a solution. I cannot afford an XBox.
I recently set up 2 monitors but am having trouble getting audio to go on stream.Realtek surround sound -> fibre optic cable -> tv -> computer via HDMI, computer -> monitor 2 via chord with 2 screws. xsplit and dazzle using virtual audio cable but sound wont capture when i switch to my monitor to play the game. need to split audio signal?
I can't find is how to use one from a png or other file format it looks as if it HAS to be in dll format, but I have an image that is a png that I want to use for a library icon, but I don't know how to tell windows that's the image I want since it's not a dllhow to take a png and turn it into something I can use to make an icon for my library?
After messing up with Windows Media Player 12 and the Windows Libraries I finally found the way to unlink Windows Libraries from Windows Media Player Library. As you remember it has been commented to disable the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service but I realized that isn't enough to stop the issue since WMP kept reading through the Windows Libraries and indexing them on its own library inside the player. At first I just put in read only mode the media player database file but that was giving me a few problems since sometimes I closed the player but it won't close, the wmplayer.exe process would remain in the task manager so I had to put it back without the read only attribute.Anyhow, checking the security tab on the folders My Pictures, My Videos and My Music, I noticed that between the authorized users to access those folders was one called WMPNetworkSvc. Yes, the very familiar Windows Media Player Networking Sharing Service. And it remained there even with the service disabled. So the solution is simple. after disabling the Windows Media Player Networking Sharing Service, go to %USERPROFILE% (copy and paste it just like I put it here, it will take you straight to the user folder of the account you're logged in), and right click on the folders My Pictures, My Music and My Videos and on the security tab click on edit and then click on WMPNetworkSvc and then click on remove and apply the changes. After that run Windows Media Player and to test it delete from the library the files already indexed on Music, Pictures or Videos (only delete from library, you don't want to permanently delete your files of course), and you will see that Media Player won't try to add them again to the library.
Edit 16/04/2011: forgot to mention, disable the WMPNetworkSvc on the security tab on the public movies, music and pictures folder too.
Edit 03/07/2011: Found another part where the WMPNetworkSvc process gets permission to access and it is on this folder: C:UsersyourusernameAppDataLocalMicrosoftMedia Player (where username you change it by your windows username). If you right click on the media player folder and then click on properties to go to the security tab, you will find that the WMPNetworkSvc appears listed there with permissions to access. You can remove it from there and apply the changes and after that no files will be added to the library anymore. With this you use the library manually by adding the folders on your own by going to the media player library and right clicking on the music, pictures or videos and then on manage and there you add the folders you want to have on the library and the media player will search for media files on them.
I am missing 2 windows movie maker and windows live photo gallery dlls. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the programs. Should I reformat my Windows 7 os or try to find the correct dlls?
I am a recent resident at an assisted living facility. Because I have some experience with PC's I was asked to maintain the facility resident computer, a PC with Windows 7.The computer is in the back of the media room, a 50 inch TV is in the front of the room. Also in the front is a modem and router. The computer is wireless and gets on the internet wirelessly through the router. The room is about 45 feet long.I would like to play video from the computer to the TV.
I am having an issue getting media player 12 to update my library of music. I have a Windows Home Server with all of my music in the music share folder. This folder is set to the default save location in my Windows 7 machine's music library.
I know with older versions of media player you could force a refresh of the library but i can't seem to find it in 12.
I am using w7 and windows media player automatically loads a unknown file in my library. The problem is that most of the music is already in the library in the form of albums. Now I can't delete the unknown file or edit it.
I'm looking at a windows 7 laptop and trying to sort out the library feature - I don't have a copy of windows 7 so cannot emulate the issueBut on the library if you click on pictures or videos - it shows all the library's availableI know the library feature allows you to bring files and folders into one place - but by default I have not seen the library show all the livrarys, music, pictures, videos etc in each sectionSo if i click on pictures - I see all the picture folders and the music folder and the videos folder
I recently have moved some of my users documents to a newer server from our old server. This caused no real issues and was quite easy to manage. After the move on one particular system, I updated the document library to make sure it was pointing to the new location on the new server, made the files available offline, and let it synchronize. After the synchronization was complete, there were no issues. However, when they try to attach a file to either an email or to a web form through Internet Explorer, the document library from the 'Attach a file' window is still pointing to the old location. When I try to point that library to the new location, it says the folder isn't indexed, although I can have the library open in a windows explorer window and show that it is indexed and in the library. Is there any way I can have the library updated in both Windows and Internet Explorer?
The system is currently running Windows 7 Professional 32Bit.It was running Internet Explorer 8 when the error first appeared, but I updated to Internet Explorer 9 and it is still not working correctly. This is the only system where it is acting like this, I have checked other identical systems that have had this file switch done as well.
When i opened my windows explorer to go to my pictures . there were no folders just 4 boxes that said " pictures.library-ms." I want to stream content over a LAN. One computer will act as the "content host" and one or more computers will act as "content clients". Is there any software that can stream content from one computer to several computers.
My network contains DHCP addresses, and it is comprised of Windows 7 x64 Professional Computers.
Ideally the "content streaming" solution will be compatible with Multiple Operating Systems.
I'm abroad and have only my company laptop wich I have administrator privileges. It has Windows 7 installed and the HDD is encrypted with some software and I'm not sure if I have BIOS access to change boot options. So when I was watching a streming match of football the pc crashed and I forced the shutdown. When I restarted it a BSOD shown up with the message Unmountable Boot Volume. As I'm used to deal with some of this problems but it is my first time on Windows 7 the first thing I tried was normal start up. When windows starts to load, there's no logo on the "starting windows" window and then when the bar starts to load it stops in the next sec and BSOD is shown. Next step was to start on safe mode but the same problem was shown, first the windows "STARTING WINDOWS" with no logo, then a grey window saying "LOADING WINDOWS FILES" then the window where the bar starts to fill but it only takes a sec and the same BSOD appears. Next try was the repair option but the same problem as in safe mode. So as it was now, windows is not starting in any mode.Next step was to try to boot ubuntu from a usb pen I always carry on my trips, but since the HDD is encrypted the first thing to boot is the disk and the password for hdd access, so I cannot boot from the usb with the HDD connected. I then used the laptop with my usb to continue watching the game on the stream channel, but then I really need to have my PC fixed with Windows 7, since I'm not returning home the next days and need to have my home company laptop working because I need to be 24h available to connect me. What I'm thinking is download and burn a Windows 7 DVD from M$ servers and try to access the command prompt while booting. Then try the check disk command and see if it works. I'm also downloading Hiren's boot cd or partedmagic to try different things.Next problem will be to boot from CD but since I didn't tried yet I cannot tell you if I can or cannot, but with the HDD connected I think it will be difficult since the first screen to be shown is always the encryption hdd software asking for password.Since the hdd is encrypted I think I will not be able to backup my files which can be a problem too.Do you have any suggestions? How can my windows 7 not start in safe or repair mode?Remember I'm abroad and that laptop is the only thing I have to work with at home, so no desktop to connect the HDD, no backup HDD to save files and no recordable DVDs (that I guess I'll need to buy to boot from Windows 7 CD). The only thing I have is a 4GB usb pen with ubuntu and a 16GB pen with work documents that can save some files
I have just purchased a pair of bluetooth speakers (sandstrom) and a belkin Bluetooth dongle.I've paired the speakers to my pc, but I can't get the audio to stream through the Bluetooth speakers and the speakers currently attached to my pc via a hdmi cable to a surround system?
I want to try to stream my Music on PC to my Samsung Galaxy Gio which uses Android Marketplace over my wifi home connection.
Kind of like how you use for Windows Media Center/Music with Xbox 360. i tried some programs and all requires sign up and hosting a server or something and i just want to stream it.
I've been faced with blue screens when playing on steam games, I know it's not an issue with overheating, as I've been checking the hardware monitor temps in the bios straight after system failure. As far as I know, my hardware drivers are up to scratch and my rig more than meets the requirements to play these games, i.e. left 4 dead 2. Saying that this rig is very new, it's a bit of a heart break to have it fail on me.
I have a 52 inch SHARP AQUOS tv. It's wifi / internet ready and comes with all the bells and whistles of apps and what not. I want to stream my movies to it from my laptop (yes i've looked around the forums already for answers but i want 2013 answers not 2006 answers) and I am looking for something that has the option of 5.1 surround hookups. I want the quality of video AND sound. I can provide details of what im using if needed.
My music library keeps disappearing, I cant add files or folders anymore so the only way to add files is to play the songs which works until the next time I open the player and they have vanished again. Also I cant rip anymore, cant change the output folder. I am running latest version...
Environment: Desktop : Windows 7 Ultimate Laptop1 : Windows 7 Home Laptop2 : Windows 7 Ultimate
Laptop1 can view and access the libraries on the Desktop. Laptop2 can see the libraries on the Desktop but can not access the folders. I'm not sure what to do here, I've triple checked that libraries are shared on the Home Group.
I recently bought the PC game The Movies. I tried downloading but "Compatibility Issues" and "Library Not Registered" shows up. So I went "Computer" right clicked the game "Open in new Window" than tried to install it by "Run as Administrator" on Setup. But nothing seems to happen, instead my computer starts to make jittery noises. I've tried this several times.
I should get Windows Media Player or iTunes for my media library. I know iTunes is sometimes glitchy, but also, sometimes wmp is too. I don't want to slow down my computer, I just want to listen to music while I work.
I have noticed that my computer is taking images from the internet and saving them in my 'Pictures Library'. I have also noticed that most of the images saved are from websites I have visited. There are hundreds and hundreds of these images stored in my Picture Library folders. I need to know how to remove them and how to stop the programme that's creating them in the first place.
Is there a way to sort 'like a library' in windows explorer (omit 'The ' and 'A ' from file names)? i.e. I have the files (sorted as windows would normally do with sort by name):
A File 4.ext A File 2.ext File 3.ext File 7.ext The File 1.ext The File 5.ext The File 6.ext The File 8.ext The File 9.ext
And I want: The File 1.ext A File 2.ext File 3.ext A File 4.ext The File 5.ext The File 6.ext File 7.ext The File 8.ext The File 9.ext
I do not want to rename my files like this: File 1, The.ext File 2, A.ext File 3.ext File 4, A.ext File 5, The.ext File 6, The.ext File 7.ext File 8, The.ext File 9, The.ext
The file name formats are actually 'The Film.avi' or 'The TV Show SXXEYY.mp4' (where XX is the Series andY Y is the Epesode as a double digit numbers). If there is anyway to do this or a 3rd party program that will work with network sharing (my files are not on the local machine but a file server running windows 7).
