View 2 RepliesMy OS is Windows 7 Home Edition 64bit. Recently I'm learning to make videos and my routine is editing the raw file in Windows Movie Maker then adding some effects to it in Adobe After Effects. I've been doing fine for months until suddenly the blue screen appeared. At first the problem only occurred occasionally when I tried to import to or export from WMM. But then it happened more and more often even when I was doing nothing until it reached the point where my computer couldn't even make it to windows anymore. I took my friend's advice and reinstall windows but that didn't fix the problem.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhat this following error code means? I'm guessing it's some kind of hardware failure but I can't figure out what. I bought a new western digital caviar black 1TB hard drive, installed it with Sata cables and installed Windows 7 ultimate on it and it worked fine for a couple of days. All of a sudden today I get this error. I should mention that the reason why I decided to replace the hard drive is because my other hard drive(s) were fine until one of their sata cable broke in half and even tho I replaced the sata cables on those drives they still won't boot and would cause BSOD's. So, I decided to buy a new drive and new cables and try it.
Technical information:***Stop: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFFA8005B3E028, 0X00000000B2000000, 0X000000000004008F)
I have been getting a BSOD every couple days. The error is a system_service_exception with stop code 3b. (STOP: 0x0000003b (0x00000000C0000005, 0xFFFFF9600010D010, 0XFFFFF88E011B40, 0x000000000000)To explain further, I have had this exact same error on TWO different computers, one of them completely new, while running the same combination of programs/drivers. They are both Stop code 3b with Parameter 1 the same, 0x00000000C0000005 (though Parameter 2 and 3 are different for each time the BSOD comes up). The two computers have different graphics drivers, so I believe graphics drivers can be ruled out as the problem (one is a AMD Radeon 6750M, the other is an Intel HD Graphics 4000). The graphics drivers are also updated. They are both running Windows 7, one is a Lenovo ThinkPad x1 Carbon, the other is a Macbook Pro running Bootcamp (I blamed bootcamp for the problem, which is why I got the new computer, but it seems that it is not the problem).
In both cases, I am running a 30" external monitor via a DVI-D to Displayport adapter, made by Accell (with additional USB powering). I believe this may be the problem, because after several days not using the monitor I did not have the crash. This is not conclusive though, because it normally only crashes every 2-5 days, but I think it may be a good place for a knowledgeable person to start. However, I used the computer for many months without any crashes with this external monitor, and it has only been crashing in the last month.I am also running a Logitech external trackball mouse and have a somewhat new Brother printer and it's associated drivers. I have Nod32 ESET antivirus, updated to the most recent version. I'm also using a program that uses a PostGreSQL database, and am running several applications at a time (not graphics intensive but I believe it does use up a fair amount of resources). For the most part, the crash has only happened after a couple hours of use. I have had all of these things installed and running on both computers when they crashed.
According to BlueScreenView, on both computers the error is caused by driver win32k.sys, caused by address win32k.sys+7d010. The crash address is ntoskrnl.exe+7efc0.My plan is to keep using the computer(s) without the external monitor, and see if they ever crash. If the monitor is the cause, I would hope for some solution that would allow me to use the monitor (I'd be willing to buy a new adapter if it might make a difference).I can't figure out how to upload the .dmp file, so you can find it here on another post of mine: http://windows7forums.com/blue-scr [...] post275928

View 1 Replies View RelatedI encountered a BSOD while just browsing the internet, I managed to get the STOP code of 124 though before it cleared. I HAVE been having some issues with my HDD not maintaining constant speeds during file transfers, so maybe its a HDD problem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been getting the BSOD sporadically for quite some time now and I am finally fed up. Here is the Stop error information:

Locale ID:1033
I've attached the dump file referenced above.
Here are some details on my machine:
Gateway DX4300
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 810 Processor 2.60 GHz
8GB RAM
Windows 7 - 64-bit, full-retail
Hardware purchased in 2010, Windows 7 upgrade occurred early 2011. Also, there are a ton of files in my minidump in addition to the one attached, is this normal?
My laptop has been crashing rather frequently, and is starting to be a pain.
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, original installed OS on system, OEM. Bought in 2009. I have not re-installed the OS.
The BlueScreen that comes up has no line of data at the top on bold print! It has the STOP code at the bottom, but the screen only stays up long enough for it to quickly make a dmp file before it automatically reboots. Therefore, no idea what it's trying to tell me! Once it restarts successfully, the little window pops up with the BCCodes etc., and links to the Minidump folder.

upgrade my system from Windows XP Pro SP3. The setup starts and gets past creating a user account, setting a computer name etc and then restarts and looks like Windows 7 is going to startup and then I get a BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH with:
STOP: C000021a [Fatal System Error}
The intial session process or system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x00000000 (0xC0000001 0x00100400)
It then mentions about dumping the memory out to disk and reboots. If i press F8 and attempt to boot SAFE MODE I get a requester saying that setup cannot be completed in Safe Mode. If try the startup recovery the first time it says it fixed a problem and wants to restart again but it has fixed nothing. Next time the startup recovery just runs and doesn't appear to finish.
I have run the Windows Memeory Diagnostic within the setup and memory checks out fine. I initially thought the onboad audio chipset was the issue and disabled that but it made no difference. I did get one successful installation but it eventually crashed and burned with the same error after approximately 12 hours.
This has been going on for a couple weeks now, not sure what it is.I'm not very experienced with computers, but I did manage to run and do all the tasking prepared on the main thread to give the information needed.I keep blue-screening, at least twice a week during small minimal tasks such as AIM and firefox usage.[CODE]I recently got the computer from a friend, so I'm not sure on the actual specs myself but I do know it's Windows Ultimate 32-bit.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire 7741z-4433 with an Intel(R) Pentium(R) p6200 (2.13 GHz, 3MB 1.3 cache). This only happens to me while I am playing The Sims 3. I have the game set on the lowest quality settings, even though my laptop "claims" to be HD LED, etc. This issue still happens. As you may know I cannot replace the graphics card as it is apart of the motherboard, and to buy a new motherboard with a better graphics card would cost more than a new computer. I have been the my manufacture's website and tried installing an update of the graphics card, and that didn't do the trick either. I am at my wits end, and I just want to play the game without it shutting down and freezing my computer. The reason I know the error is because I do Alt + Tab to get back to the desktop. The way it acts up while I am in game is the screen blacks out but I can still see the software's mouse, and then it blinks a couple times and then freezes completely?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI believe I have a unique trouble with my network adapter. It is installing every single time that windows starts, always behaving as a different piece of hardware thus driver is named like: "Atheros (...) Ethernet Controller #151" and increasing and what more, still having different MAC address. My problem is that my (legal) Windows (Win 7 Home Premium 64bit) after few startups starts thinking he is illegal every time I activate it by phone. I am beginning to be desperate about this. Over time I was thinking about several solutions to this but I am not capable of executing them alone. Two examples:
1.) One possibility is disabling automatic driver installation but in tutorials and forums it is done through pgedit.msc that is absent on Home Premium
2.) Disabling my network card completely (or removing it from my laptop) is also a way because I am using only wifi, but I havent found any way how to do it
... Network card is probably broken, so sending my nb to service could also work, but it is quite inconvenient considering time and money thrown away, i dont prefer this option
This laptop has Windows 7 Premium Installed. I want to install a HD Audio Driver of my choice.
When I uninstall the Generic Windows 7 HD Audio Device Driver The driver is automatically re-installed on restart.
Windows 7 Premium does not have GpEdit.msc installed. An earlier version I came across (version 1.0 on the internet) has limited capability.
How do I prevent Windows Windows 7 from Automatically installing the driver?
Is there a registry entry I can edit to prevent installation of Generic Drivers or specific Generic Drivers i.e HD Audio Device Driver.
I have a problem with windows "Driver Software Installation".
I have an Audigy 2 ZS card installed. Every time I boot the
machine the ""Driver Software Installation" starts and finalize
with saying that the card is ready to use. This is not correct
as there is no sound. Every time I reboot the same thing happens.
Now, I have disabled Windows Update, I have disabled the devices
etc. but nothing stops this ""Driver Software Installation" from
starting at the next boot.
I would like to install Daniel Kawakami's Audigy_SupportPack_2_18_0001_W7
but when I start, it says it can not install untill I have rebooted
from a previous install which is the "Driver Software Installation"
failed installation. And rebooting of course starts the "Diver Software
Installation" again.
Is there any way to disable the ""Driver Software Installation"?
I do that:
1. Uninstall driver
2. remove what left with driver sweeper
3. Reboot and try to install new driver BUT Windows 7 automatically find their stock driver for 7600GT and installs it, damn it.
Maybe I don't need to do that anymore?
So, my question is:
What are the proper way to update video card drivers in windows 7?
I'm using Windows 7 since beta and now I'm with Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
During BETA I was using just one monitor (Samsung 732NPlus).
Since the final release of Windows 7 I've bought a second monitor (LG W2252TQ).
I'm using them together (Samsung with RGB connector, LG with DVI).
Since the final release I'm having the same problem from time to time: "The graphics card driver stopped and resumed".
During this, my screen freezes black for 1 to 3 secs.
I have already tried the latest BETA from NVIDIA and also the STABLE one.
It's the same with drivers from Windows Update.
I've disabled the option to get drivers from WinUpdate.
Removed all drivers and installed NVIDIA.
Just the same...
Strange is WHEN this happens:
- NOT during gameplay
- NOT every every time
This happens while using Visual Studio (usually coding), Word, Notepad (o.o'') and sometimes while surfing web. Any clues? For now I just can't format my HD again but I'll try this within a month it this error persists.
my pc is not working properly nvidia driver.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI kept getting the bug code usb driver blue screen of death. I opted to just format the drive and reinstall windows 7. It was working fine for a day or so and now it is happening again. I also got a blue screen that said system service exception. Could it be a hardware issues. I few weeks ago I was trying to max out my ram slots and it didn't like it so I went back to my original 2 sticks of ram in stead of 4? I may just try and reformat again and reinstall.
