The program ran fine and it delete just the Trojan horse "no other program or files were removed" I've tried several times to system restore but still the same error message.
Is it possible it did something to my registry and can clear CMOS work to fix it? I cannot get past the system restore screen and the bios screen can also get command prompt.
I'm trying to restore Windows 7 on my computer (I'm currently using Ubuntu 11.10), and I keep getting Error Code 1005. I've tried everything, and nothing.

AMD athalon 64/Opeteron HT Hub
Processor: AMD Sempron(tm_ Processor 3200+ 1.80GHz
Mainboard:Asus M2n
All my USB drives are gone. I get the message, "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)". One of the solutions I saw was to remove any UpperFilter and LowerFilter keys in two registry values. I did that, disabled and enabled the drives but still no go. I also ran Microsoft Fixit but it was useless.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to rectify the error with windows update. Everytime I try to update it tells me it is checking for updates...Then "To check for updates, you must first install an update for Windows Update. Your automatic Updating settings will not change." I click Install now and get "Window could not search for new updates"An error occured while checking for new updates for your computer. Error(s) Found Code 80070643 Windows Update encountered an unknown error.
This problem first came to light a year ago when I downloaded a windows update that was corrupt. It forced the computer to loop the autocheck upon boot and could only be started in safe mode or by canelling the check. After looking through the forums I found an interim fix which disabled the autocheck and since have always recieved the message upon restarting "Autocheck program not found".I naturally thought this issue would be resovled in the next update and or a future fix.I had to go away for work at the start of this year and when I got back and windows updated it still had the autocheck message.Recently I have been unable to update at all due to the aforementioned error. The simplest soultion it would seem would be to do a system restore, this I have tried however every possible point seems to have a corrupt file on it.I ran a scan using Malwarebytes and found nothing.I don't want to format as the programs came pre installed and that would mean taking to back to the shop.
I made the HDD formatted and it's in NTFS format. The disk for some reason says Bootmgr is missing. Also when I try to install Windows 7, it says error code: 0x80070017. I don't have any OS installed. I've tried the repair disk thing. Also my BIOS is PhoenixBIOS (or something, that what it says on the BIOS Setup Utility menu) and I don't know how to disable AHCI mode.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have windows t pro and all of a sudden System restore has disappeared. If I type system restore in the search box, the closest thing I get is "restore your computer to am earlier time".checked c:UsersYourNameApplicationDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsStartMenuProgramsAccessoriesSystem Tools and it's not their either. I have a feeling it was a Paragon Drive Clone program that screwed everything up. It even turned on system protection for one of my other drives. Microsoft Shadow Copy Provider was also off.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am Last night when I get home go to start computer and there is a error about missing dll file, then aas I click the error more missing file errors keep coming up, gets progressively worse until PC does not start windows. Ok, that's cool, I have backup and disk image on another drive in computer, no problem right, WRONG!!!
So pop in the windows 7 disk, go to restore disk image, error!!! Got a few errors while trying once I got one when I checked of not to include one of the disk, the one I keep getting is that there is not enough space on drive for restore. Now the disk the image is on is 150 GB, the disk trying to put it on is 500 GB, so why the problem???
So keep searching on my laptop and find a suggestion to do diskpart-clean. Go through every suggestion I found to use diskpart such as clean. Still not working. I install Windows 7 on the drive which works, install backup files and is there. But I want the image to restore. So in the new install I cant get it to do a image restore, so I try from Windows 7 CD again, Fail.
A lot of virus around there and I ran the unhide program. It found that a shortcut folder named smtmp can't be restored by unhide.how I can restore this folder.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI would like to do a system restore, but when I try to do so (system protection/system restore), it tells me that "no restore points have been created on your hard drive".
2 weeks ago I successfully did a system restore, and I have not changed any settings since then. My recovery partition is still in place, the disk manager says the recovery drive has 8 GB out of 15 GB free. Could the restore point be in my recovery partition, but for some reason Windows isn't seeing it? How would I view the recovery partition to check?
When I try to run Windows back up (not system restore) I get error 0x80070422. The error message reads something like "This service can not be started because it is either disabled or it has no enabled devices associated with it." I looked around and found a list of services associated with Backup & Restore and their startup settings (manual/Automatic Etc.) I went through the list and everything is correct EXCEPT "Windows Backup" - "Manual" (manual is the setting not part of the name). There is no service with that name. All the other 5 are there and set correctly.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI recently replaced my Hard drive. I had been backing up using Win 7 Back-up. After replacing my hard drive due to failure I have had issue restoring. I first tried to restore with the image after a while it gave me a failure error. So I the reinstalled windows with the original disks that I created when computer was purchased. I reinstalled most of my programs and was able to restore data with the backup. Most of my data was restored but I am missing some information. One is my contacts in Windows live mail. Where in the back up data might my contacts be and where they go. I am also sometimes having issues with windows recognizing the data on my usb hard drive. The backup data and windows backup image are there but when I run restore, advanced recovery methods, it does not find the data on the drive. It states that no back up data could be found The drive is showing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving turned on my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 I found my user accounts to be missing and was left with an Administrator account. It seems that the system has reverted to a very old restore point. I have tried using the restore points (recent ones are displayed, but I get the 0x80070057 error). My data seems to be intact.I have Windows and all programs stored on an internal SSD-drive and the data on an internal harddrive. I also have a recent Acronis image on a NAS. I am hoping there might be a way to solve the problem without using the image.I have tried booting in Safe Mode, but the restore points are still not functioning.
EDIT: I remembered that I had used a new USB-stick which would not eject correctly, before turning off the computer. I tried reinserting the USB-stick before restarting the system and... everything went back to normal.
I was trying to completely restore my system using factory discs. I upgraded my ProBook 4525s from 32 to 64 bit. because of all the problems I've been having, I tried putting on the 32 bit version again... well somehow I'm miss a whole lot of stuff. I'm not super computer savy, but figured that i've bdone it in the past, I can do it again. Well the first thing I noticed is that my wireless isn't working. So I go to HP website and try and download some different drivers. Nothing is working and when I try to open and install anything downloaded it doesn't work properly. Went to update my bios and it needs F.0A which I can't download because I don't have a burning software that is compatible. Why I need to burn something to disc when I want to download it directly I don't understand..
View 7 Replies View RelatedI cannot boot into Windows because it says that the file /boot/BCD is missing with an error code of 0x0000007. If I run Repair from my installation disk and in System Recovery Options, it says that it has detected problems and asks if I want to repair it. The items it wants to repair are: " The following startup option will be repaired:Name: {bootmgr}Identifier: {9DEA862C-5CDD-4E70-ACC1-F32B344D4795}

Windows Device: Partition=C: (476938MB)
A copy of the current boot configuration data will be saved as C:BootBCD.Backup.0002"If I click yes, it says that it cannot save the current settings for the BCD and refuses to continue. When I choose Startup Repair, it attempts to fix the problem but fails.
The problem details are:
Root cause found:
No OS files found on disk.
Repair action: Partition table repair
Result: Failed. Error code: 0x3bc3
I think that this is because Startup Repair is trying to fix the thumbdrive that I keep my Windows 7 install files in. I am overseas now and as my computer does not have an internal optical disk drive and my external drive is back home, thus using my thumbdrive is the only way to access the repair console.
I tried running a few commands, namely:
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /rebuildbcd
Fixmbr and fixboot work, but when I run RebuildBCD, it detects C:Windows as having a Windows installation, but if I type Y(yes) or A(all), it says that the requested system device cannot be found.
