Excel Tool Bar Missing Icons?
Oct 1, 2012I have Microsoft 2003 When I open Excel I HAVE the tool bars (File, View Insert etc) on top where it should be. However the icons I put there from Tools function ie Delete columns, font size, copy, cut etc have all disappeared I tried to reinstalling them by going to Tools � Custom-. When I try to select an icon for example Edit � copy or even delete column arrow and try to move it up to the tool bar on top of the page it will not work.

May 26, 2012In my Sister's laptop, running Windows 7 Ultimate x86, all of a sudden, while she was working on the computer, the "E drive" went missing which was a partition on the hard disk (I don't remember if it was a logical or primary partition). She tried restarting the system but to no avail. So, I told her to open the "Disk management" tool in Windows 7 to see if the partition is visible in there. I did this because sometimes, in my computer, my expansion drive wouldn't show but it would be visible in the disk management tool and all I had to do was to re-assign it a drive letter. But, in this case, it wasn't visible over there.
So, now I told her to download "Mini-Tool Partition manager Home edition" and install it on her laptop. On running it, it wouldn't show the partition either. It would just show "C:", "D", "System Reserved" and unallocated space. However, when I added up the size displayed by C:, D:, System Reserved and Unallocated, it doesn't add up to the actual hard disk size. It means the partition is somewhere there but not visible. Is it possible that the partition would show up correctly if the laptop is booted into the bootable image of Mini-Tool Partition Manager?
System Restore Missing
Feb 23, 2012I have windows t pro and all of a sudden System restore has disappeared. If I type system restore in the search box, the closest thing I get is "restore your computer to am earlier time".checked c:UsersYourNameApplicationDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsStartMenuProgramsAccessoriesSystem Tools and it's not their either. I have a feeling it was a Paragon Drive Clone program that screwed everything up. It even turned on system protection for one of my other drives. Microsoft Shadow Copy Provider was also off.

Mar 16, 2012I am Last night when I get home go to start computer and there is a error about missing dll file, then aas I click the error more missing file errors keep coming up, gets progressively worse until PC does not start windows. Ok, that's cool, I have backup and disk image on another drive in computer, no problem right, WRONG!!!
So pop in the windows 7 disk, go to restore disk image, error!!! Got a few errors while trying once I got one when I checked of not to include one of the disk, the one I keep getting is that there is not enough space on drive for restore. Now the disk the image is on is 150 GB, the disk trying to put it on is 500 GB, so why the problem???
So keep searching on my laptop and find a suggestion to do diskpart-clean. Go through every suggestion I found to use diskpart such as clean. Still not working. I install Windows 7 on the drive which works, install backup files and is there. But I want the image to restore. So in the new install I cant get it to do a image restore, so I try from Windows 7 CD again, Fail.

2 weeks ago I successfully did a system restore, and I have not changed any settings since then. My recovery partition is still in place, the disk manager says the recovery drive has 8 GB out of 15 GB free. Could the restore point be in my recovery partition, but for some reason Windows isn't seeing it? How would I view the recovery partition to check?
Backup & Restore, Missing Service?
Dec 9, 2012When I try to run Windows back up (not system restore) I get error 0x80070422. The error message reads something like "This service can not be started because it is either disabled or it has no enabled devices associated with it." I looked around and found a list of services associated with Backup & Restore and their startup settings (manual/Automatic Etc.) I went through the list and everything is correct EXCEPT "Windows Backup" - "Manual" (manual is the setting not part of the name). There is no service with that name. All the other 5 are there and set correctly.

May 22, 2011I tried to use the recovery 7 disk on my laptop...Half way through the process my laptop froze and shut off. When I turned it back on its said winload.exe was missing or corrupt. The backup data and windows backup image are there but when I run restore, advanced recovery methods, it does not find the data on the drive. Dec 30, 2012Having turned on my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 I found my user accounts to be missing and was left with an Administrator account. It seems that the system has reverted to a very old restore point. I have tried using the restore points (recent ones are displayed, but I get the 0x80070057 error). My data seems to be intact.I have Windows and all programs stored on an internal SSD-drive and the data on an internal harddrive. I also have a recent Acronis image on a NAS. I am hoping there might be a way to solve the problem without using the image.I have tried booting in Safe Mode, but the restore points are still not functioning.
EDIT: I remembered that I had used a new USB-stick which would not eject correctly, before turning off the computer. I tried reinserting the USB-stick before restarting the system and... everything went back to normal.
Operating System Restore With Disc, Missing Drivers/software?
Sep 27, 2012I was trying to completely restore my system using factory discs. I upgraded my ProBook 4525s from 32 to 64 bit. because of all the problems I've been having, I tried putting on the 32 bit version again... well somehow I'm miss a whole lot of stuff. I'm not super computer savy, but figured that i've bdone it in the past, I can do it again. Well the first thing I noticed is that my wireless isn't working. So I go to HP website and try and download some different drivers. Nothing is working and when I try to open and install anything downloaded it doesn't work properly. Went to update my bios and it needs F.0A which I can't download because I don't have a burning software that is compatible. Why I need to burn something to disc when I want to download it directly I don't understand..

Intel 2.3 ghz duel core, cpu. upgraded to 4 gig of ram. done months ago. New 750 gig HDD. New to this install. just bought it. Installed with a dell windows 7 disk. It activated fine. had a few problem with the install. could not install Windows 7 usb dvd tool could not install Office 2010. Did get NOD 32 install and all the windows updates. I figured there was aglitch in the install. I formated and reinstalled windows 7 from a usb drive i created on another computer. that i just installed the windows 7 usb dvd tool on. windows loaded fine, so first thing i tried to install the windows 7 usb dvd tool would not install. so formated and started again. All went well windows 7 activated fine. tried to install the windows 7 usb dvd tool again no joy. so I went ahead and installed all the updates. NOD 32. windows office all went well. tried again to install the Win 7 usb dvd tool no joy. I have googled the problem there is no info out there on this problem. I searched the problem in this forum nothing. I had this tool running on the original install before i started this whole thing and it worked fine. Any suggestion would be great! Nothing invested but time!

May 10, 2009I purchased 4GB of RAm a few mnths ago and also got a copy of Vista HP64. From the get go I had all sort of issues in Vista - games would not run, the OS seemed to crash a lot, would get messages like MS Outlooks data file was not closed properly. Windows defender would crash all the time.Tried about 15 different nVidia drivers... gave up. I tried 3 different HDDs too.
So anyway I moved back to XP because I assumed it was simply Vista.
This week I downloaded Win7RC1!! I'd heard nothing but greta things on podcasts, in forums etc. So i installed.
From the start I've had again defender crashing, "windows logon" errors, action centre shows me a LOT of errors that it's detetced and fixed. I get a few "explorer has stopped working" errors too. UGH! Games do not work - they freeze either on loading or after 30 seconds or so of gaming. I've had 4 or so BSODs which I had heard were basically unheard of in Windows 7! They were of varying variety.
All these erros in 3 days worth of running Windows 7? Seems a lot.... and errors on core components of Windows 7 too.

However this takes a bit of time and I was wondering if there was a good tool out there that you would recommend to save me crawling through their PCs uninstalling unused programs, clearing out .tmp files etc etc - you know the kind of things.

I get a "access denied" or you don't have permission to view this file, owner info etc.. I can see a lot of the files, but their either empty now or I can't view them. I have used restore many times in the past, but now I get a message " no restore points".. I don't know what he did, or if he did anything.. It could be one of my kids changed properties by mistake, before I wised up and created a basic user acct w/ limited access for them.. I almost forgot. When I go into file properties there is a red x by my user name (administrator) Not in every property, but several.. Sometimes there is a red x by other user names, as well, but mostly mine.

The last part was too hard for me so he made it easier. Unfortunatley the author of ERUNT developed it up to XP but Win 7 users were stuck unless very techy.This is what I was avidly looking for and he said awhile ago he woud do it.So, if you are like me and make errors you would like to erase, add another backup tool to your toolbox.It is freeware and he promises there are no nasties.
