Spooler Crash 0x0000002 Error On Network Printers?

Problem:We have around 15 printers on site all running off the network, static IP's the usual setup. For some reason since we have upgraded the computers to Windows 7 64 bit the printers have been acting up.We have an intermittant problem where some users get an error 'unable to print with the current print setup' or when trying to install a printer they can get 'Windows cannot connect to the printer. Operation could not be completed' (0x0000002). To quickly resolve the problem we need to stop and start the spooler service, once this is done everything works fine but it repeats itself again.Solutions Tried:We have checked the drivers on the server changing them to universal drivers, changed drivers on the machines, rebuilt machines, added admin privlidges etc all which do not seem to have any effect. I have tried hotfixes from MS (KB981070-v2 & KB982728) with no result, searched the web but am unable to find a solution, our setup is Server 2003 and computers all run windows 7 64 bit.

I just tried to print, only to find out the printing menu from MS word wasn't opening. I checked the print spooler service, and it's stopped. When I try to start it, I get the error 1503 message.
I've tried the following:
- Manually start it. Made sure the RPC service is running (yes it is)
- System restore to a date I believe it worked
- sfc /scannow (doesn't find anything)
- some other cmd command which had "= rpcss" in it
- Some said .NET update may do something, didn't
I saw something else about renaming .mui to .exe and the original spooler .exe to .bak. Tried that and the service just reported it couldn't find the files, so I reverted that.I can't recall off the top of my head what the files names specifically are, but the two files that are the spooler (spoolersv.exe and spoolersv.exe.mui?) are within the correct directory in Windows. I really am at a lost, and classes started this week for me so I'm drained right now... its tunneling engine service would do the same thing (error 1503 out of nowhere), so I had to reinstall that and add something in its registry directory. Easier using that for Sven Coop and Synergy Coop?

I did a Windows 7 Repair Install on my HP (G62) laptop, 64 BIT, and installed an HP Deskjet F4180 printer,it went on virtual USB001. Recently, when printing from various PDF files, I cannot print multiple pages of a document. It prints a single random page of the document, then gives printer error, and moves the document into queue, where I have to cancel the job. It seems to work OK in other application documents however. And it even seemed to work for an older small PDF file.Im running the laptop on wireless, with router configured to automatic DHCP, shows 2 devices, the laptop and the wired Desktop, and seems to be running fine. The network is set to Public.I uninstalled all HP programs, drivers, and reinstalled the latest full printer driver & software for 64 BIT from HP website. I stopped & restarted the print spooler service.I tried different USB ports, cables, connection steps.I tried HP scan utilities for fixing, and tried Windows Troubleshoot (which temporarily fixes issue for a single print job)Thru printers & devices all printer & USB drivers show up, are updated, & working.In Printer Properties, I tried printing directly to printer setting, but then NOTHING prints at all.As far as I remember the printer worked properly on my desktop, Windows 7, 32 BIT version.I also reinstalled ADOBE PDF, in case its the applications fault SFC /scannow doesnt find a problem Ive done CCleaner, DiskCleanup, CheckDisk, also no Virus, Malware detected thru the AV applications The Event viewer shows ID #602 :The print spooler failed to reopen an existing printer connection because it could not read the configuration information from the registrykeyS-1-5-21-3851181124-22741... Deskjet D4100 series. This can occur if the key name or values are malformed or missing.MS -Windows Print Service, Spooler Operation failed.I looked at the registry keys, but I dont know if they are in fact incorrect, or what to look for, what they should be ?HP support says its most likely a Windows & corrupted file or spooler service & registry (which I doubt because this is a new Repai Install !) Also, with spooler bypass it doesnt print.

I am using a Windows 2008 R2 domain controller and File Server. Whenever I add a network printer I always make sure the "List in the Directory" (meaning Active Directory) is checked under the sharing tab in the properties of each printer. On Windows XP machines I can go through the add printer wizard and it finds all printers in the domain.On windows 7 professional clients when I got to Add Printer then select "Add a Network, Wireless, or Bluetooth printer" it does not find any network printers from my file server. I have the file and print sharing enabled on the Windows 7 clients and the File Server.

how network printers work in Windows?Is there only one way of setting these up, or several ways? Do I have to have a driver for the specific printer on the client? Why can't the material be sent to the server in some device independent format (Postscript??), and converted to printer commands on the server? Do I have to have a driver for the specific printer on the server? If the driver is on the client, presumably it's talking directly to the printer (using the server only as a means of communication) using the printer's own command codes, so I don't see why the server needs a driver... Under what circumstances can or can't the client download the driver from the server? What happens if the client and server are running different versions of Windows, either an older version on the client, or an older version on the server? What happens if the client is running 64-bit and the server 32-bit, or vice versa? What happens if there is no driver available for the newer version of Windows (which might be the client, or the server), because the printer is quite old?

I have installed the following printers: Epson LX-300+II, HP Laserjet 1010, HP Colour Lasterjet 1515, Canon IP5200.
The printers work and are all displayed from Word, IE, etc, but only one printer shows up in Windows 7 Devices & Printers - usually whichever is selected as default printer. If I remove the displayed printer, it shows me another one. When I first installed, it showed me all the printers, but problems started after I had to remove and reinstall my printers.

I have three computers in my office, on one computer there is win 7 (64 bit) and on the others win 7 (32 bit). I have printer, canon mf 4010 and this printer is installed on computer with 32 bit windows, it works fine, but when i tried to share it on 32 bit windows and make network printer it didnot work. may this is the problem that on one computer there is 64 bit windows and on the other computers there is 32 bit windows.

Okay so I just tried to add a new network location in the My Computer.
I set the network address as \MYLAPTOP but the program didn't let me do that because I need to specify a folder. I don't want to specify a folder because I just want to use the root folder. So I then typed it as \MYLAPTOP\ with an extra slash at the end. The shortcut was made but it didn't work so I tried to remove it.
Now every time I press "delete" on the shortcut Explorer.exe crashes and restarts. I tried this in safe mode with and without internet access but it always crashed.
Now I'm just looking for a way to manually delete the icon through registry or some other editor.

Some observations:
- I have two QNAP NAS servers, which put the drives after 30 mins idle in sleep mode.
- Windows 7 network discovery sees the two NAS servers all the time.
- When you make drive mappings to shares on the NAS servers, (it seems) at random times Explorer hangs (goes into stall) when trying to browse/access files or directories. Only a reboot helps.
- I'm accessing the drives via regular SMB, no HomeGroup, no AD etc.
- When you map the drives initiallially it asks for a password. Storing that account info into the credentials manager doesn't help.
- I tried to open ports 137-139 and 445 in the firewall, but that doesn't help.
My theory is that Windows breaks by default the connection with the NAS after 15 mins of idling. That's standard behaviour. What puzzles me is that Visita didn't have this issue and Windows 7 has.
Do more people have issues with SMB shares ?

Everyday, at least once a day I have my wired connection drop with the message 'No Network Access'. I try to disable and re-enable the wired adapter only to have the computer freeze. No BSOD, Windows simply freezes, mouse doesn't move, nothing at all.I have to restart my computer for it to function again.Windows 7 64 Bit TA890FXE Motherboard (Realtek onboard LAN adapter)I can't seem to find the cause of it I've uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter drivers from the motherboard's manufacturer website, windows update and even the manufacturer website, it still drops the connection after a decent session on the computer.

I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite laptop with Windows 7 on it, about a month and a half ago. Ever since the first week a problem happens periodically, at least once a week if not more. The screen will turn black, usually flickering so I can see the mouse for a second, then it flickers black, then I see the mouse, etc. Usually the only way I can fix it is by closing the laptop and waiting, then it will go into sleep mode.I get it started back up, and all the sudden I can no longer see my desktop, or the icons in my taskbar.I can get these back by changing and saving one property on each, then everything seems to be fine. This problem is not associated with a screen saver, it happens at seemingly random times. Sometimes when I'm dealing with a new program, but sometimes when I'm simply browsing the internet. It could be connected to google chrome I guess.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Control Panel -> Devices and Printers show some printers (PDF995 and Microsoft XPS Document Writer) but it does not show my HP OfficeJet 4500. Applications (like IE or Firebird) show it in the list of printer and can print to it.
Edit: I forgot to mention, I am running in the Administrator account and both the laptop and the printer on the same WiFi router. The printer showed up in Device Manager after I clicked Display Hidden Devices (kind of silly to hide devices from the Administrator.)

i was unable to create a restore point(or should i say the restore point which were created were all shown up with this following error earlier, Error message was: "System Restore" did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed."Details: An unspecified error occurred during System Restore (0xc0000022).Anyways,today as i was updating my display driver,while uninstalling the old display driver and installing the latest one,my system didn't accept the driver and thus my system went out of order(more preciously,as i uninstalled the whole catalyst control centre,every icon was appearing bigger and my display adapter was also deleted). now, coming back to the problem, when i tried to go back to a restre point ,i actaually managed to get all my previous settings back but after the completion of system restore that same message was again there which saidError message was: "System Restore" did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed."Details: An unspecified error occurred during System Restore (0xc0000022).Now,i am a bit confused to what actually happened as all my settings were back and the system was there in its previous setings but then why i got that error message?

I have had four BSODs recently, two with error code 0xA and the two older crash dumps occurred on system sleep/resume. I do not know much about what caused the first two, they seemed to happen when I put my laptop to sleep with very low battery but haven't happened since because I've been careful to watch the battery a bit better. The third occurred while streaming a .mkv file to my PS3 with PS3 Media Server. It was about an hour into streaming when the BSOD occurred. My video card drivers were old at the time, so I upgraded them trying to fix it but obviously I haven't fixed it yet.
I also ran Memtest86+ which could find no memory errors. The most recent BSOD occurred while I was transferring some files with Filezilla. I also had Chrome open with a few tabs, but the laptop was not excessively hot or anything. The transfer had been running for about 10 minutes when the crash happened. I have attached the results of running the jcgriff2 BSOD Dump & System File collection app and system health report. More than anything, I'm worried about the most recent 2 BSODs.
The system is:
Windows 7 Professional x64
MSDNAA edition
Original OS installed was Windows Vista
Windows 7 was installed ~1.5-2 years ago

i have owned asus gaming tier pc for 2-3 months, and this problem came up. I do not know what to do. Do i need to post some information? And some times during the crash, pc losts connection to internet. It's getting really annoying, since i'm tf2 Trader.
EDIT: Now it's doing it constantly, and after some time, mouse and keyboard wont respond.also, when the crash starts, it sounds like usb being plugged in.

I read through a few threads with similar topics but the issues were either not quite the same and/or resolved comparatively easily. I am trying to repair a 1.5 year-old HP Pavilion running Windows 7 Home Premium 64. This machine is used as the main office computer in a small doctor's office. In spite of my warnings, anti-virus software was not installed until it was too lateThere was a major issue about seven months ago that required another company to repairThe problem is explorer.exe will not run. Double-clicking a shortcut on the desktop, clicking the text name of a program from the Start menu, and even in the cmd results in the same response, a dialog box pops up stating windows explorer has stopped working.
windows is checking for a solution to the problem. followed by another box stating windows explorer is restarting. But the requested application never starts. I have run the Ultimate Boot CD 4 Win, replaced the hard drive and cloned all data, run numerous registry scans, malware scans and antivirus scans. Initially removing over 1500 virus/malware hits and over 1400 registry errors. But the main problem persists, explorer.exe won't open programs.

I was having trouble with the printer spooler stopping, finally got it fixed after 4 stressful days, went to Administrative tools, print management and deleted the print jobs that were waiting to be printed and it worked. you may have to go to services and restart your printer spooler first before it will recognize your printer.

I have a laptop running Win 7 32-bit. I configured a network printer, which is an HP Deskjet 720 that is connected to an XP machine and shared. That worked fine. But I just purchased a new 64-bit desktop, and I can't print to that network printer. I can install the printer, and the status shows it's available/ready. But when I try to print a test page, nothing happens. When I check the document status, I get a message saying that the print spooler needs to be started. I've restarted it several times, but it still doesn't work. I've searched the forum and Googled this problem. Lots of users seem to have this same issue. I've tried all suggestions, but nothing works. The spooler is set to automatically start, and the restart time after error is zero. I decided that I'd try replacing the printer driver. But when I go into Control Panel and look at printer properties, the Advanced tab where I should be able to update the drive is all grayed out. So I'm stuck.

I have a customer with a Win7 Pro 32-bit PC that has had a HP Deskjet D2660 on it for 1yr that has been printing. They got a virus and used Malwarebytes to remove it. Now, the printer shows up as needing troubleshooting and will not print. The local print spooler starts, runs about 20 sec. and stops. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.

It has been a while since I have been here. I am sure my PC has some hidden Registry problem, but I cannot find it. Hardware: HP 8440P, Windows 7 64 bit.
MacAffee found no viruses, but of course my kid was playing on the machine and I am sure he clicked "yes" on some webpage.
The Registry for the Print Spooler keeps shutting down. When I attempt to print from Micorsoft Word, it shows my HP1018 printer as not really being a printer. I checked the Print Spooler and attempted a restart. It restarts fine, but then when I attempt to print from Word (or any MS office program) the Print Spooler shuts down. Same is true with adobe acrobat reader.
My guess is something corrupted the Registry to screw with me.
