Trying to install office 10 with a USB drive that works. When I try on this one pc it gives me this error. Setup.exe is not a valid win32 app. The pc has XP home edition and I've run ms updates and still get the problem.

This is supposed to open in an Excel file. I can open it up on another PC, however. And I can also open up other Excel files on my PC except for this one.
After an auto-update and reboot, a Dolby error popped up saying "The current Dolby audio driver is 7.2.8000.13 and the software application expects driver version 7.2.7000.11. Please install a valid driver and software application combination." What can I do? I can't find any downloadable updates anywhere.

So I used isobuster to extract the files to an external harddrive ( over 300 gig). However when I try to run the setup.exe file, I get the message "setup.exe is not a valid win32 app" - not sure why? My pc has 4 gig RAM and has AMD Athlon 64 processor?

Letting the system adjust compatibility does no good.I got Visual Studio 2005 installed with a banner at the end about "compatibility issues", and then got that error on all attempts to update. I've erased that and have ordered VS2010. Instrument drivers that a client will need also give me that error, even though they are supposed to be good for Win 7.This is my first Win 7 machine, have stayed with Win XP Pro up to now. View 5 Replies View RelatedI am at a bit of a loss here in regards to partitions, as I've never really done it, I want to configure a new system setup under the following circumstances:
SSD(1): (dual-boot OS drive)
+ Partition 1: Windows 7
+ Partition 2: Windows Server 2012
SSD(2): (program / file drive)
+ Partition 1: one large single partition for application / program storage; e.g., Visual Studio 2012 and SharePoint Server 2013.
I need to have an instance of Windows Server to use SharePoint Server. At times I will want to run the server set-up to facilitate TFS and SharePoint with a very small team of developers, school related for example. And at other times I would like to boot into Windows 7 Ultimate so I can have a normal browsing experience and play games, etc. But of course I could also develop with VS11.X in Win 7 environment if needed.
My question, is what I'm proposing possible? I want to use Windows 7 normally most the times, but at others I will require Server 2012 to use SharePoint. Can I share the same program resources on the second SSD regardless what OS I boot into? What issues may rise if I tried running SharePoint (or just having SharePoint) while booted into Windows 7? Will I have to create two partitions on the 2nd SSD, a copy of apps for each OS due to system registry constraints.
Our office has an old program that we still need to use when upgrading our PC's to Windows 7. The program will run fine if you start a windows virtual PC and install and run it. However, based on the needs of our office, I need to be able to run Windows XP mode and simply have an icon for our users to click to take them to the application.If I install the program in windows XP mode, and then add a shortcut to the file under all users/start menu, a shortcut is placed in the appropriate place on the windows 7 machine and I can copy that shortcut ot the desktop. The program runs fine until you restart the computer. Once you restart the computer and double click the link on the windows 7 desktop to the program running in windows XP mode, it says:
Cannot start virtual application. The application is blocked from running as a virtual application.
I read some other posts saying to put a new shortcut in the all users/start menu folder. This works, but only until our users restart their computer. The next time the computer is up, the problem happens again. This is not an acceptable solution to have to create a new shortcut for each workstation each time the computer is restarted.
The error states:explorer.exe - application error The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application.When I click OK, i just have a black screen. I can get the task manager going by hitting control, alt, delete. I've tried to start explorer.exe from the file menu, but get the same error.

I am deathly afraid to turn off my computer because my brother recently did and that caused it to freeze at the blue HP startup screen, but thats another thread. I get this error whenever I launch anything. I can't even open up the task manager. I really need help. I don't currently have a way to back up my stuff either but I am working on it. By the way, I don't know that my brother was having the same error message as i was or if he was having any error messages. I use zone alarm full security suite if that helps at all, I don't know if it deleted a registry file or something.

I don't what happened but all of a sudden a message box opens up on my windows 7 laptop and it says this " the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). However, when I attempted to run a repair disc, but in the middle of this I received the message in the thread's title. What's wrong? Is the repair disc something other than the disc I need? While writing this via my phone I'm currently trying an alternative of restoring my computer from a system image on my backup drive, I don't know if that will solve the problem. But even if it does, I think I should still try to find out what went wrong here for when something goes wrong in the future.

I dual booted linux on my computer, and for some reason that stopped my windows from booting. So, I used the reinstall disk from my kind sister's computer (a Dell latitude E6140) and set about going from there. It was 32bit, but it worked fine for a few months, but then windows said that my software wasn't genuine, which i know it is. I looked through all of the forums i frequent, but nothing came up that helped. I've tried sfc /scannow, a simple chkdsk, more reboots than I can count, updated my bios, checked my drivers, and finally used some program called Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool (1.9.0027.0) This is what it gave me:
