"c:usersappdatalocalmicrosoftwindows temporary internet files.IE5WFRX915B1000_BronzeLeads_851CSV is not a valid Win32 application."
This is supposed to open in an Excel file. I can open it up on another PC, however. And I can also open up other Excel files on my PC except for this one.
Today I tried to download some software and I received a message saying : "Save as PDF & XPS.exe is not a valid Win32 application"
View 2 Replies View RelatedInstalling applications, including ones that say they are Win 7 compatible, I get "not valid win32 application". Letting the system adjust compatibility does no good.I got Visual Studio 2005 installed with a banner at the end about "compatibility issues", and then got that error on all attempts to update. I've erased that and have ordered VS2010. Instrument drivers that a client will need also give me that error, even though they are supposed to be good for Win 7.This is my first Win 7 machine, have stayed with Win XP Pro up to now. My client is going to need Win 7. I hate to force him to go back to Win XP mode

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just discovered my DVD/CD drive is not working when I attempted to launch the windows 7 iso file 64bit.
So I used isobuster to extract the files to an external harddrive ( over 300 gig). However when I try to run the setup.exe file, I get the message "setup.exe is not a valid win32 app" - not sure why? My pc has 4 gig RAM and has AMD Athlon 64 processor?
Trying to install office 10 with a USB drive that works. When I try on this one pc it gives me this error. Setup.exe is not a valid win32 app. The pc has XP home edition and I've run ms updates and still get the problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to run VIPRERESCUE to check for rootkit virus's, but when I dbl click on the application, I get a pop up saying "application can't be run in Win32 mode." I'm using a system that is loaded with the 64 bit version of Win 7 Home Premium.
I have run this successfully in the past (don't remember how long ago) and was able to get it to run without any problems. So I know that something is different, but not what it is - I don't know who to even set a pc in win32 mode.
All of my scans with: Norton and Malwarebytes claim my system is clean. I've also run Microsoft's safety scanner, and ESET's online scanner with the same result.
What win32 mode is, (I assume it's a setting to run legacy software) and how to set it and disable it
My computer had a virus in it a while ago and I managed to remove it by deleting a fake win32dll.exe which seemed to be running a .txt document in AppDatalocalTemp.Anyway all seemed fine until I tried to access my control panel when I received an error saying explorer.exe not found. I could not access any keyboard, mouse or sound settings. Again I fixed this by running a 'sfc scannow' in cmd.So to my current problem, sometimes when I start the computer the fan won't turn off and it beeps 6/7 times. Sometimes it starts fine but my graphics drivers don't load properly and i have a small display and my 2nd monitor isn't recognised. I think it has something to do with an error message that pops up everytime on start-up being:There was a problem starting C:Users*me*AppDataLocalTemp1726681.txt The specified module could not be foundTo clarify; My control panel now works and I am virus free but it seems to have left some damage (seems to be with either the .dll files or in the registry). I believe the error message above is affecting my startup and causing the graphics driver problems which resolves itself eventually.

Whenever the computer boots up or restarts, this is what I'm greeted with.Solved the issue temporarily, I stopped and item from starting up with CCleaner and its not popping up anymore, I would like to take permanent action.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I start up my PC I get 2 RunDLL .exes trying to install adware on my pc. I did msconfig and disabled them on startup but I'm still worried since the virus scanners (Anti-Mal & Avast & SuperAS) haven't fully cleared all traces of it.
More depth:
Was browsing net for streams after QSS went down the other day, visit one site - "anilinkz.com" I think it was, and Zonealarm informs me that Twain.dll Client is trying to access the net, I immediately deny it. 4 or 5 seconds later, Avast tells me a (ozifgf98894lk).exe is running and I choose to not open it. Everytime I restarted PC from there, the .exe would run on startup, deactivate task manager, open internet explorer and try to connect to 193.107.16.215 but it didn't seem to do anything. After a few restarts I managed to get rid of it by quickly accessing temp files and renaming the 4 .exes it produced then deleting them the next restart, SuperAntiSpyware detected a 'Adware.PTECH' virus and removed it. However everytime I restarted, it would still inform me that Windows cannot find the .exe files it's looking for. How can I get rid of this?
Today when I started my computer I got this error message titled RunDLL. It said that there was a problem initializing C:Windowssystem32HIMYM.DLL

View 2 Replies View RelatedOur office has an old program that we still need to use when upgrading our PC's to Windows 7. The program will run fine if you start a windows virtual PC and install and run it. However, based on the needs of our office, I need to be able to run Windows XP mode and simply have an icon for our users to click to take them to the application. If I install the program in windows XP mode, and then add a shortcut to the file under all users/start menu, a shortcut is placed in the appropriate place on the windows 7 machine and I can copy that shortcut ot the desktop. The program runs fine until you restart the computer. Once you restart the computer and double click the link on the windows 7 desktop to the program running in windows XP mode, it says:
Cannot start virtual application. The application is blocked from running as a virtual application.
I read some other posts saying to put a new shortcut in the all users/start menu folder. This works, but only until our users restart their computer. The next time the computer is up, the problem happens again. This is not an acceptable solution to have to create a new shortcut for each workstation each time the computer is restarted.
I clicked on a site and my screen started to flicker then just for a moment Microsft security essentials screen popped up and vanished this happened several times with the screen flickering. Finally full screen MSSE said virous detected, severe, quarantined. No further action required. When I went back to the desktop the screen had turned black and bottom right corner says window 7 build 7601. this copy of windows not valid. Coincidence!Re inserted product key: failed Product not geniune or being used by someone else.I installed a new hard drive in June 2012 along with a new copy of windows 7 plus office 2007 and all has worked well. All validated and set to automatic updates.Rang Microsoft help desk and emailed security center. I was unable to make out what the helpdesk were telling me and when I asked them to speak slowly and clearly they hung up.
