RunDLL 2 .Exe Adware Installers On Startup
Feb 8, 2012
When I start up my PC I get 2 RunDLL .exes trying to install adware on my pc. I did msconfig and disabled them on startup but I'm still worried since the virus scanners (Anti-Mal & Avast & SuperAS) haven't fully cleared all traces of it.
More depth:
Was browsing net for streams after QSS went down the other day, visit one site - "anilinkz.com" I think it was, and Zonealarm informs me that Twain.dll Client is trying to access the net, I immediately deny it. 4 or 5 seconds later, Avast tells me a (ozifgf98894lk).exe is running and I choose to not open it. Everytime I restarted PC from there, the .exe would run on startup, deactivate task manager, open internet explorer and try to connect to 193.107.16.215 but it didn't seem to do anything. After a few restarts I managed to get rid of it by quickly accessing temp files and renaming the 4 .exes it produced then deleting them the next restart, SuperAntiSpyware detected a 'Adware.PTECH' virus and removed it. However everytime I restarted, it would still inform me that Windows cannot find the .exe files it's looking for. How can I get rid of this?

My computer had a virus in it a while ago and I managed to remove it by deleting a fake win32dll.exe which seemed to be running a .txt document in AppDatalocalTemp.Anyway all seemed fine until I tried to access my control panel when I received an error saying explorer.exe not found. I could not access any keyboard, mouse or sound settings. Again I fixed this by running a 'sfc scannow' in cmd.So to my current problem, sometimes when I start the computer the fan won't turn off and it beeps 6/7 times. Sometimes it starts fine but my graphics drivers don't load properly and i have a small display and my 2nd monitor isn't recognised. I think it has something to do with an error message that pops up everytime on start-up being:There was a problem starting C:Users*me*AppDataLocalTemp1726681.txt The specified module could not be foundTo clarify; My control panel now works and I am virus free but it seems to have left some damage (seems to be with either the .dll files or in the registry). I believe the error message above is affecting my startup and causing the graphics driver problems which resolves itself eventually.

Now that I have MSE installed, would I still need to install other adware programs such as lavasoft adaware? In the past Ive always had more than one adware program because each detected different things. Is it now time to finally be able to concentrate on just one program?

I downloaded a bunch of game torrents yesterday from The Pirate Bay, ranging from Halo to Angry Birds. Each time I open the installer for any of these games (I've tried Angry Birds:Star Wars, Portal 1, and Halo 1), Windows acts as if it's loading something, and then goes back to normal, whether I run as an administrator or not. I have Win7 64-bit, 6 GB RAM, DirectX 11, an AMD Quad-Core 2.4GHz athlon II x4 610e processor, and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series graphics card. I also used Steam to run Portal:First Slice, a free demo, and it ran fine. The only problem I can think of is that they aren't the Windows 7 versions? I can't imagine that would be a problem, though. Not sure which route would be the best to most effectively optimize my PC for gaming, so any suggestions are welcome. Keep in mind I'm on a Dell All-In-One PC, so components upgrades/additions might be a bit complicated. I plan on taking the games to school on a flash drive so I can try them during my computers class on the systems there.

I use a windows 7 ultimate 32 bit version on my samsung laptop... Everything seemed to be perfectly fine but soon I noticed that during the installation of any program as soon as I change the target directory the installer stops working with an error poping up ''setup.exe has stopped working''... The windows reporting also does not report a solution.. I am in extreme trouble as I cannot install the software on the default directory and the error arrives only on changing the installation directory.

I have been having a problem with connecting to Wifi signals ever since this RunDLL error message has started popping up when I restart my computer. When I plug in an Ethernet cord I can connect to the internet but I can't connect to Wifi signals. I'm figuring there are some files missing by what these error messages are telling me.
The Messages: (appears in two different windows)
There was a problem starting
c:/Users/SUNFLO~1/AppData/Local/Temp/wrvetx.dll
The Specified module could not be found
There was a problem starting
c:/Users/SUNFLO~1/AppData/Local/Temp/roron.dll
The specified module could not be found
At one point I ran a virus scan; could it be that the files got contaminated and were deleted? If so how do I get these files back?

Okay, I'm dual booting Windows 7 right now, as drive G: (Vista is C: ).
My problem is that installers like to use C: rather than G:, is there a setting somewhere where I can make my absolute main drive G:, rather than C:?
Some installers correctly use G:, while others (NSIS based, some others) use C: -- perhaps it's an installer issue, I don't know.
When I try to install Microsoft software, the installer extracts temporary files.. okay, but it extracts them to my external drive, and often they are not removed. How can I stop that from happening?

I did several thing before restarting and seeing this glitch: Removed KIS completely, registry cleaner, junk file cleaner, reinstalled KIS.At first, there was a glitch with windows gadgets too, but I found out this solution: Vista Sidebar Gadgets Broken - Vista Forums and it fixed my gadgets too. The problem was similar, expect I could not see the background of the weather gadget.I have a few pictures to better describe the problem: - Fixed - Current Glitch - Current Glitch - Current Glitch As you can see, the text it's present in the y!messenger window ... but not in PM windows nor the archive.I remember that I had this problem in Vista and XP too ... in XP I had to reinstall the OS ... deleting Windows directory and leaving the rest. I don't recall to have found a solution to this then ... but it was only the yahoo thing. I don't remember having the same problem with some installers.I've used other installers after the problem appeared and they looked and performed as normal. This error seems to affect only y!mess and a particular type of installers. Everything else seems to function properly.I did a SFC scan. It found no problems at all. That's why I think it can be fixed without having to reinstall windows 7 or using the backup image.

I am looking at reformatting my computer, the only thing holding me back is a matter of software. I have a windows 7 professional 64-bit disk which came under the OEM licence, and I purchased Microsoft office 2010 on-line (I have an installer and a disk I had shipped to me). Would reformatting my computer and reinstalling windows require me to use one of my uses of either of the mentioned pieces of software? And where could I find how many uses I have (if it is indeed limited).

Running W7 Home Premium on HP Pavilion laptop. Also running Panda Internet Security 2012. Recently, it seems that when I try to install new programs or update programs already installed I get a response that an internet connection cannot be found. I have the ability to surf the net, and programs that automatically update themselves are working fine ie: Microsoft Security Updates, Panda, Firefox. Programs that fail to update/install new: Real Player, Google Earth, Malwarebytes and a couple of others. I've tried turning off the firewall to my Panda AV, but still have an issue.

way to install windows media player 11 onto windows 7? I do not like how heavy handed WMP12 is with libraries (as i went in to my registery and deleted any key referencing them) and while WMP 12 doesnt produce any errors or problems with my registery modifications. I find that i have to worm through a now disabled directory to actually get to my music.

I have a Dell Inspiron and a while ago I shut down my PC and the next morning I was faced with options to repair my computer. It hung on the screen for ages before it actually came up with startup repair and supposedly fixed the problem. A few days later, everything got very slow and started to freeze a lot and before long, booting the computer got very slow as well as it hung for about ten minutes on a black screen after the 'welcome' screen before finally starting up. I decided to reinstall the operating system (I did NOT reformat the C drive), so I borrowed my Grandma's external hard drive and copied my files. After reinstalling using a Dell Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium Re-Installation DVD, I copied and deleted the files off the external hard drive onto my PC (I didn't know it would create a Windows.old folder) and started installing programs. Then I left it overnight to install quite a big program. This morning, somehow it had turned off. I turned it on and it gave me the safe mode options and a 'start windows normally' option. I chose the latter and after typing my password it hung on the welcome screen again. I left it for ages and it just went back to the user login screen again. I pressed the red button in the corner to shut it down but it just hung once again on an empty screen so I did a hard shutdown (held down the power button). I turned it on again...startup repair. It gave me the option for system restore, which I did (then realising when it finished that I hadn't made a backup). I booted it, and again it wouldn't start properly. At this time, safe mode booted fine. After trying various things (even using a compressed air can to get rid of dust) and a few hard shutdowns, suddenly every option from the advanced boot menu took me to startup repair except 'Repair your Computer' which gave the normal options for repair (although now it only gives me 2, Startup Repair and DataSafe Restore and Emergency Backup. Now when I do startup repair, some times it says it has fixed the problem, and sometimes it says it cannot be fixed automatically and gives me information on the problem (a few things it said were: 'StartupRepairOffline', 'AutoFailover' and 'CorruptRegistry').
I can't reinstall my computer because then I would lose my precious files.
Is there some way I can save my files and reinstall or even just save my files somehow or am I screwed?

Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.1
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium , Service Pack 1, 64 bit
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 240 Processor, AMD64 Family 16 Model 6 Stepping 2
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 2815 Mb
[code]....
Antivirus: The Shield Deluxe Antivirus, Updated and Enabled DISPLAY MODEL: All I got with it was mouse and power cord On Startup, I get icons for the Administrator and Standard user. Clicking on the Administrator gives me a desktop with an on-screen keyboard; the computer keyboard disabled, and a panel saying,"FAILED, The application has failed to start." Going back and clicking on the Standard User icon gets me running for the most part. Here's the BIG problem. Every time I try to install any program, the User Account Control box drops down and asks for the Administrator Password, plus the question,"Do you want to allow the following programs to make changes to your computer?" You click "Yes", but, since no one is in the Administrator office, your installation comes to a halt. This blocks "Install" and "Uninstall". I get lots of messages I need Adobe Flash Player. I've trie over and again to install it, going to Windows 32 bit, but can't uninstall my previous tries. It will always download, and that's all. I've tried to install my digital camera's CD, but can't.

the Startup screen. So I went to the Startup repair tool as was recommended, but after few tries nothing has changed. So I tried to recover to previous recovery point, but also nothing. Then I tried booting to Safe mode, and I saw that during the loading process there was no file shown as succesfully loaded. I might also know what could be the cause of this problem, because yesterday when I was shutting Win down, there was a blackout so obviusly some files are corrupted.

I hate it when this happens and so far, the startup repair has always been able to fix the problem. Today, I'm not so lucky.
I'm using my other built right now coz I have to work. I don't remember what updates I did last night but I do remember the dvd drive firmware was updated.I popped in the system restore disc, start it up and the same page appears: Start with windows start up or Start windows normally. Tried both and neither one of them would bring up system restore. This built was only a month old and was hardly used so far so no system restore point was created at this point. I have files in it that I would like to keep but I can't get to them right now so a clean fresh install is needed but I can't get it up.

recently my computer has been acting a bit odd. When I turn it on it starts up like normal, I input my password and it starts loading everything. But once everything is loaded at the start up the taskbar freezes and so does the rest of the desktop. I can move my mouse but it does nothing and I'm not able to open the taskmanager at all with ctrl+alt+del. The computer runs fine in safe mode. I've already gone through and cleaned up my system, fixed any registry problems, and defragged my hdd. I've scanned for any malware and came up with nothing. I've disabled all non-necessary programs in msconfig for startup. I've been able to do a system restore to about a week ago, and that would fix the problem for a bit, but it would happen again if the computer went into sleep mode.
