Sep 7, 2009I recently upgraded from Windows Vista Business to Windows 7 Professional. The problem I am having is that my Seagate Freeagent 1TB drive wont load in Windows 7. I have to keep going to Device Manager and Uninstalling the driver and then plugging it back in so it automatically installs itself and then when I shut down the computer I have to do the process again.
I thought things that worked with Windows Vista were supposed to work with Windows 7.
Any solutions or help on this problem would be appreciated. PS I have already tried installing newer drivers, I have the latest ones, and I know this is a software issue as I am able to access the drive as normal after re-installing it each time.

Sep 4, 2011I am using FreeAgent Go 5oo GB , when I try safely remove FreeAgent Go always show the error massage " Seagate FreeAgent Go USB device can not be uninstalled right now because the system request system restart " and I have to restart every time.I have already tried the following :
1. Close all application and end recent file process.
2. Check " don't remove file to the recycle bin, remove file immediately when delete" in the recycle bin.
3. Disable write caching on the device in devive property "policy" tab.
4. Using third party sync.exe to flushes disk buffers together with HotSwap!.exe yet still shown the same error massage.
Windows 7 Not Seeing Seagate GoFlex Home
Jan 23, 2012Recently purchased a Seagate GoFlex Home NAS drive and having troubles getting my Win7 laptop to see it on the network. Here is a basic rundown of what works and what doesn't:I can ping the IP address from the LaptopThe NAS drive appears in the network map but not in the Network heading in explorerI can access the NAS drive through the browserI have full access to the NAS drive(mapped drive etc) through my Vista desktop on the same networkI can access my Win7 Laptop from my Vista desktopThe desktop's name appears on the Win7 machine but I can't open it (Windows says "Windows cannot access \DESKTOP")I have setup network discovery, file and printer sharing etc in advanced sharing options.

Oct 3, 2010I purchased a 2TB Seagate GoFlex Desk External HDD and Windows did not auto-detect it.So I went under Device Manager and under Other Devices, the Seagate drive was listed with the yellow exclamation. It shows that the driver is not found. I had windows search online and it found nothing. The only way I know to get it back is to do a repair/restore of windows? I am afraid to do this as I have to much to risk losing. Is there any other way to obtain this driver. I plugged the device into another computer also running Windows 7 (only home not pro) and it auto-detected right away. So I know for sure the device works.My computer though is most definitely missing the driver.

It seems to have calmed down now but I am still having problems with USB devices. When I plug the external HD into the top USB ports (next to the wireless dongle for keybd/mouse), the keyboard stops working. Jan 15, 2013I was playing Mass Effect earlier. Got off because of school, so i put it to sleep. When i returned home, I tried getting on steam. The path wasn't found, so I didn't think anything of it. Rebooted. Still no path, so i go to my slave HDD, and surprise! It wasn't there for some reason. I've looked for it in disk management; no where to be found. Ran seatools, no luck. I had around 300 GiGs on there.I also turned off the laptop, took out the battery, and both master and slave drives for an hour. NOTHING.
EDIT: when i check disk management, it seems there is a drive of some sort on there, but it has no name.. It's blank. Nothing but *Status* has any information: "Healthy (OEM partition)." When i try to right click, the menu only has a "Help" tab.

I normally use Norton Ghost for a lot of things I do so I decided to use Ghost to Image the OEM HDD that came with the laptop too the SSD. I went in used the command prompt screen to use the switch -ntexact so it would work, did Disk -> Disk image and ran the process. Now when the unit boots with the SSD in it, it's getting hung up on the starting Windows 7 Screen.

However, I can't install because Windows keeps saying I can't install on a GPT partition. Before I would just change the mboo into EFI/UEFI mode to fix it, but my 2007 board doesn't support it.

Dec 1, 2009I have Windows 7 64 bits in a DELL Laptop Latitude E4300 working fine (more or less). I just plugged into it a USB HD from iomega with 500 GB capacity. I can see this disk without problems in all my XP (32 bits) based systems. But not on Windows 7. When I try to open it I get the error message:

The archive is damaged or inaccessible
I know the disk is fine. I have in this very same computer vmware installed with Ubuntu 64 bits where I can mount the HD and see it without problem (?) but not in the host Windows 7 system. I saw a driver installation message the first time I plugged into the laptop on Windows 7 but clearly, this was incorrect.
Should I uninstall the driver and get it from somewhere else other than the default place (which did not seem to work well)?
