Seagate GoFlex 2 TB USB 3 Drive Has Suddenly Stopped Working
Jan 29, 2013
My Seagate GoFlex 2 TB USB 3 drive has suddenly stopped working. When it happened, I was having many issues with Windows (for about 10 minutes and 3 reboots). It seems to have calmed down now but I am still having problems with USB devices. When I plug the external HD into the top USB ports (next to the wireless dongle for keybd/mouse), the keyboard stops working. In the system error logs I am getting this critical error: The driver DriverWUDFRd failed to load for the device RootSIDESHOW000. I am also noticing that I have an unknown device in my device manager. I am also having a message come up when I start the computer saying that Windows cannot connect to the Group Policy Controller. It says that it is timing out. [code]
Recently purchased a Seagate GoFlex Home NAS drive and having troubles getting my Win7 laptop to see it on the network. Here is a basic rundown of what works and what doesn't:I can ping the IP address from the LaptopThe NAS drive appears in the network map but not in the Network heading in explorerI can access the NAS drive through the browserI have full access to the NAS drive(mapped drive etc) through my Vista desktop on the same networkI can access my Win7 Laptop from my Vista desktopThe desktop's name appears on the Win7 machine but I can't open it (Windows says "Windows cannot access \DESKTOP")I have setup network discovery, file and printer sharing etc in advanced sharing options.
I purchased a 2TB Seagate GoFlex Desk External HDD and Windows did not auto-detect it.So I went under Device Manager and under Other Devices, the Seagate drive was listed with the yellow exclamation. It shows that the driver is not found. I had windows search online and it found nothing. The only way I know to get it back is to do a repair/restore of windows? I am afraid to do this as I have to much to risk losing. Is there any other way to obtain this driver. I plugged the device into another computer also running Windows 7 (only home not pro) and it auto-detected right away. So I know for sure the device works. My computer though is most definitely missing the driver.
I have a 320GB GoFlex that my computer has out grown. I purchased a new one for my computer and would like to use this smaller one for our other computer.
got a tosh c650 laptop and just tried putting a cruser blade 16gb stick into one of its 2 usb ports. Now both ports dont do anything .Tried deleting all drivere and re installing (inc safe mode) but no joy...Have I damaged the MB?
I have a Compaq Presario CQ62-215DX, running Norton Internet Security and firewall through Windows 7. I sucessfully installed new Wireless LAN and Lightscribe system software several days ago, along with the Live Essentials, Realtek and Windows 7 Updates. Everything was operating correctly yesterday, but when I booted up my computer today my wireless mouse refused to work. After trying a fix involving a USB stick, I realized that none of my USB ports work. The ports light up when I restart, until Windows 7 finishes logging in, and once it begins the drivers refuse to work. Is it because of the recent updates? Because I cleaned up my back-up copies?
My LAN and WiFi suddenly stopped working. It was working fine for several hours before now. I decided to take a break and pour myself some coffee and give a package to the postman. Gone for maybe 10 minutes at the most. When I came back, the LAN and WiFi mysteriously had stopped functioning. I know nobody touched anything because I am the only one who uses this computer. I tried disabling and re-enabling, as well as re-installing the drivers. This is a work network, and everyone else's connection seems fine, and I can't seem to figure out what's wrong. Keep in mind I can't just re-set the router because this is not a home network.
The first thing I do after installing win 7 is apply the uxtheme patch. I've been running custom themes for a while, but yesterday decided to change the look of things. I applied a os x leopard type theme, it didn't work and now I've lost all desktop visual effects (transparency, themes, win+tab).I run the diagnostic and it detects that 'Windows Desktop Manager is disabled' - so I think "Ok, I'll just go into services and re-enable it"... but it's GONE! How the hell can a service just remove it self?So I run System Restore back to when I knew it was working, but still no damn transparency, that service or themes, just the default non-transparent Aero!
I've had WMC up and running for about a year now, no problems. Tonight we decided to watch a movie that I have as an *.mkv file - we do this all the time, at least once a week if not more. I shut down WMC and played the movie in VLC Media player. When I went to start WMC again, the sound was gone. The sound works in the rest of the system. I can hear computer sounds, and VLC and other media players work fine. It's just WMC that has no sound.I checked all my devices and drivers, no errors. Though to be honest, if that was the problem I'd expect all sounds to be gone.I removed WMC from the system by using the "Remove Windows Features" in Control Panel, and then re-installed it. No difference.I did notice however that removing and re-installing WMC, I didn't have to re-setup all my channels, etc. The settings "stuck". (Oh, by the way, I did re-run the sound setup in WMC, no difference).I'm wondering if maybe my WMC settings are corrupted somehow? Is there some sort of config file perhaps? I have no backup plan here, this is my only way to watch TV. I guess I could wipe the drive and start from scratch, but I'd prefer not to.
I run an eyefinity setup with a 2gb 6870, and for about 2 months it has been running perfectly fine. I turned my pc on this morning and my third display stopped working.Details Currently monitors 1,2 are on.When the pc posts the post info is on monitors 1,3 which shows that the third monitor is recognized.(Does not show up in CCC)Im using an active dp adapter for monitor 1. Dvi for 2 and Hdmi for 3. I have switched all of these around and it makes 0 Difference. The ADP adapter monitor works when it is plugged in so I am not sure if the cable went bad. I figure if the cable went bad it would not work at all.I have tried re installing the drivers and reverting to an older issue of ccc. Neither worked.
I have an older Dell Inspiron 5100 that's been rock solid since day one. I recently transferred all my music from my PC to my Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex so I could organize my files while I was out of town on business. When I got to my hotel and plugged the Seagate into the USB port the laptop would not recognize it. There's two USB ports, one of the USB ports does nothing at all when I plug the drive in (not even a 'Ding-Dong' sound). The other port at least responds but still not recognized. By "responds" I mean Windows responds with a "Dunn..." sound; not the happy two tone sound of a device actually being recognized and available, just a "Dunn..."I've used this drive before on this laptop on several occasions so I know it's compatible. I also came home and plugged to drive back into the PC to see if the drive itself responds. It does, and all files are there and happy. Also, when plugged into the non-responsive USB slot the light on the drive blinks a couple times, the platters spool up for 15 or so seconds then goes out. When plugged into the other USB slot (the one that goes "Dunn...") the light comes on and stays on and the platters spin untill I unplug the device. But it's still not recognized.
Last night my router was working fine, and then all of a sudden my Internet stopped working. when i woke up i figured out that with a Ethernet cord the Internet works, but going wireless doesn't work. its not in my computer since it also wont work on my ps3.
When i try to connect to it, it either says it cannot connect, or connects and says i have Internet but doesn't let me actually load anything.
Installed it over 6 weeks ago in windows7 RC 64bit with Vista drivers.
works perfectly
turned my machine on today and suddenly its stopped working with this:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)
I haven't touched anything, havent changed anything, I've done nothing.
Why the hell has this happened? I'm screwed now and have to pother about dual booting into XP just to get my artwork finished
Why has Windows 7 suddenly decided to block my drivers that have been working perfectly fine for 6 weeks for no reason!?
I had to re-install Mozilla Firefox and ever since then, my links/hyperlinks in my emails (Microsoft Outlook 2007) won't work. It may have been other things that I installed which led me to have to re-install Firefox, but I just need to be able to get the links to work again.
I was playing League of Legends when this happened and when the game loaded into the world the mouse just stopped responding and never kicked back on. I've restarted the computer, pulled the battery for a few minutes, turned legacy usb on/off, right click and uninstalled all universal USB controllers (then restarted to get windows to reinstall them), tried different mice on the problem computer, tried the mouse on a different computer (it worked), pretty much every solution i've found on the internet so far from people with similar issues of usb mice/keyboards suddenly stopping and never coming back using windows 7.I'm actually going to go to toshiba's website and check if they have any drivers that I could download/update.
I reimaged my computer because I was having a whole bunch of trubble with it (no of which really matter now). After reimaging I tried to access some of the files I saved on my external hard drive, but no matter what I tried I could not get access to the files. The drive appears in device Manager and in the USB Device pages, and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drive. But for some reason I just can't access the device.
Suddenly internet has stopped working on my system Dell inspiron N5010. I tried installing Lan drivers for the above series but still its not workling.
The sound suddenly stopped working on my Toshiba satellite A505-S6960. When I click the speaker icon it shows maximum and blinking as it is working. OS is Windows 7 professional?
I realize the title happens frequently in general. I myself have had to go in and restore the device countless times on reboot. That's not the issue (default device, device enabled, etc). For some mysterious reason, my What U Hear is malfunctioning and picking up absolutely nothing as of last night's reboot. Prior to this for the last few years since being on Win 7, I've had no issues (other than the common restore the default, enable it, etc).
1. I had a power outage mid day yesterday. I'm pretty sure I didn't attempt to use my What U Hear after this outage, but DID use it just prior to the outage (but was not recording or anything when the outage hit, but SF 9.0 was open)
2. I have gone into the BIOS and disabled HD Audio (since my MOBO has onboard)... I really thought this second one was going to fix my problem, but no.
When I go to check my devices in the audio pop-up, it shows my speakers as the default playback device and the oscillator goes as I play something. When I look at the recording tab, with the What U hear device enabled & defaulted, the oscillator just sits there dead. When I go to properties and either select "default playback device" OR select my external speakers (both of which should be the speakers, WHICH DO oscillate and work just fine) it doesn't matter... What U Hear still does not pick anything up!
I must have deleted the info that comes on the Goflex external 500mg hard drive. I used it to watch moves often. I also had it full. After a while i would get an error message asking me to format. So I did an now it can't be recognized on my gateway window 7 computer.
after reinstalling Windows 7(using USB) dvd drive does not appear in "My computer" anymore(Can't find it in Device manager it either). In addition when my notebook is booting I get DELL's warning that some drive can not be identified(and it does not state which), so I have to press Esc to skip that warning so I can successfully boot my windows 7 up.
My notebook's dvd drive don't inject any CD's/DVD's anymore. Seems like dead after reinstall.
I have hp g42 laptop and all of a sudden the dvd drive stopped working. my drive was working fine two days ago.The light on the eject button is also off.I think that it may be a power problem.
I have had an expensive time with my computer recently but i am now beyond the brink and turning the tide of war to my favour.I have recently kitted my ailing PC out with a new SSD for the OS install. This is working great; i have just tonight had to plug in a brand new GFX card for my gaming pc.(My GFX card burned out due to overheating, so i have now got a new case and proper cooling)Basically, my secondary hard disk (Files Storage etc) is not working, when plugged into my sata port my computer hangs at the Windows Loading screen, also i cannot get into the BIOS.If i unplug the hard drive (Not SSD, 500GB Hitachi) my computer boots in 14 seconds, and the bios works fine.I have concluded my secondary hard disk may be broken.if i can fix it as i can barely afford to buy a new one (even knowing they are cheap).Basically if it had broken i would expect my PC would say so, seems to me that it is just waiting for a response and sitting around for hours to get it
I am not able to access the HP v220W 16 GB Flash Drive is not working in my Windows 7 system it says " Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43)"
I bought a new 1T hard drive. a seagate barracuda sata. I followed the disc wizard instructions to clone my hard drive but after I chose the disc to clone etc and it restarted the computer now I just have a blank black screen with a flashing cursor. and it doesn't seem to be doing anything. (let it sit for more than 10 min. and the hdd light never flashes or anything.) and now my old drive will not boot?
I went to Fry's and got a Seagate Barracuda 1TB 5900 RPM Hard Drive. I plugged it in as soon as I got home and it didn't show up in 7. I'll see if it wants to work with XP or Ubuntu, but I don't have high hopes.
A few days ago my computer (an ASUS Eee Netbook) suddenly stopped being able to connect to the wireless network in my apartment, seemingly for no reason whatsoever. It had been working fine earlier in the day, I went out for about an hour (didn't even shut the computer down), returned home and was unable to connect to the network. The computer can locate the network and continues to attempt connecting to it with no luck. I can connect to other networks without any trouble. It has never done this before. I've rebooted the computer several times and performed a System Restore, but without any success. I'm hesitant to reset the router as this is a shared connection with the other people in my apartment (who as far as I know aren't having any trouble with the connection).
