hey everyone,i have notice a problem on my computer. the problem have become more noticeable recently and it happens occasionally.to get to the point, when i was playing Internet video, the screen would flicker and the Internet video would become green.after refreshing the page, the Internet video become normal again.at first,i thought it was due to multiple taps of Internet video, but just now, when there was only 1 page of Internet video, the screen flickers again and the video become green.
yesterday i dl'd Spybot SnD, did a scan. After that i shut down my PC. When i turned on my pc at the morning, boot went on without problems. This flickering started at logon screen. I removed video drivers and the problem stopped, tried installing different drivers, but the problem goes on then.
I recently updated the Intel HD Graphics driver to the latest version, but now it flickers every time I want to plug in my charger or take it out. It's really annoying and I'm not sure why this just started happening. I recently got a fresh win7 install on my desktop and after a couple days some extreme flickering and screen distortion appeared. I tried disabling and uninstalling certain drives, did rollbacks etc. the problem persists. Booted in safe mode and the screen didn't give me any trouble also during boot up everything is fine but the flickering goes on from the welcome screen. I have an onboard 4250 if that's relevant.
I'm not quite sure how to describe the issue(hence the title) but through several diagnosis I think the Graphics on the motherboard is failing. There is no add-on graphics, the system is a HP Pavilion P6310Y, AMD Athlon 2, 6GB of RAM, 1 TB of HDD Space. The onboard Graphics is NVidia GeForce 9100. The PC is about 3-4 years old. What is happening is the screen flickers and then either goes black or becomes a certain color. This happens whenever the PC is doing something involving alot of data(Scan Disk, Virus Scan, Email, Remote Desktop). The harder part is being able to tell whether the computer is crashing or after the graphics fails that the computer is still processing. I'm going go with a no because I have a feeling this could be an overheating issue as well.I have is if it is only the Graphics, would installing a Graphics Card solve the problem? Or will the rest of the motherboard eventually fail also?
I have been playing EA Sports Cricket 07 for a while now and used to work well with XP. But in Windows 7 there seems to be some problem with it the screen keeps flickering randomly while playing the game. I tried compatibility mode but it still continued. I really like the game and I don't have a system that can support latest games so I want a way to play this game and get rid of this flickering.
I have had this problem intermittently ever since I got this computer three years ago. It seems whenever I use my undocked laptop, and then dock it and use my external 1920x1080 monitor, it flickers quite a bit. The only solutions thus far have been to 1) reduce the resolution 2) restart 3) make sure my laptop isn't asleep when I dock it, as the problem seems to only happen when it is undocked, put on sleep, and then woken up.
i have a problem with my year old desktop pc and random screen corruption when i startup the pc. sometimes it does it once a month, but in the last week its happened it every day. this is a video of what happens but its not always the same, but its always at startup. usually anytime upto and including the windows login screen, but never before or during the bios screen. once it corrupts i then need to hard reset, soft reset does nothing. also, after a successful reboot windows complains of a previous bluescreen. all drivers are up to date. nvidia_gtx465_corruption.3gp - Internet i`ve tried replacing the graphics card and i still had problems and i`ve reinstalled windows 7. i`m thinking the next thing is to replace the psu? whats strange is that it never goes wrong once windows is up and running, its only at startup. it also cause the external monitor (tv) to blank out and it freezes the pc ie caps lock, etc dont function. i`ve also tried it in someone else`s house with different monitor and the same occurred.
whilst playing games (mostly RTS) my screen flickers then goes black, sometimes goes to the desktop or the game loading screen then resumes the game?My GPU is an NVidia GTS 250, I have updated the driver to the latest version but the issue still persists, the issue isnt with one particular game, it happens on Dawn of war 2, king arthur fallen champions, war hammer mark of chaos. From the sys reqs my system should be more that capable of running them.
Just reinstalled Windows 7 x64 (no SP1) and I noticed a weird problem. It happens everywhere, but I can best explain it with Task Manager. If you have Task Manager open and you try to resize the window with your mouse, the top tabs (Applications, Processes, Services etc.) flicker.
I have "show windows contents while dragging" enabled. I have Windows classic theme, but I asked a friend with the default Windows 7 theme and he has the same problem.
I don't remember having this problem before re-installing Windows 7 and I have the same chipset/video drivers.
Wasn't sure how to classify what's happening but I recently installed Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. It ran alright for a few days but over the last 2 days, I've been getting a flickering type problem. Now whatever is causing this is also affecting my ability to click or tab items or right click an item. Ex: If I have task manager open and want to close it; I right click it in the task bar to click close but the minute I move to click close the menu disappears.
When i open up my trading screen my 2nd monitor starts to flicker especially if i move charts accross to the second monitor. Everything else seems to be ok as long as i do not open up trading windows.
This happens randomly, starting about a month ago. I'm on Windows 7 64bit, and every so often my monitor would flicker black just once, and once it goes back from blackness for a second, the task bar would be totally plain and white. The internet would also be disconnected with no way to go back to normal unless I restart. Half the time, the computer crashes after I restart making me use a restore point.
Does this have to do with hardware? I run diagnostics and memtest86 and half the time it says something is wrong with my RAM, then when I reinsert them, the tests say I'm ok. Then when this happen again, my ram tests faulty again. I have no idea what's going on. Any light on this situation would make me very appreciative.
Windows 7 Professional 64bit. When I try to perform a restart, the computer goes into oblivion. Drive light flickers a bit but I've let it rest over an hour and it didn't restart. Have to press the reset button. Otherwise everything seems OK. I've run deep scans with Malwarebytes and Kaspersky and no warnings.
All of a sudden I cannot open CCC. The mouse flickers like it is loading it and then nothing occurs. I have uninstalled ATI 12.4 fully and drive sweepered it and reinstalled and still have the issue.
Weirdly my screen won't dim anymore, i set it to dim 1 minute but it doesn't do anything but just stays on. I adjusted it in the Power options and it is on the High Performance plan, i have tried other plan which has different dim time but still no go. How i adjusted the it is by going to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings and then adjusting the "Turn off the display". Basically it will dim if the mouse/touchpad is not touched/move in the time you adjusted it on when it will dim.
I am having trouble with my start menu closing a second or 2 after I click the start button, then the toolbar and desktop icons quickly flash twice. So I can't get into certain programs or apps.
After booting my machine (Sony VAIO Z2) the logon screen appears, but just the background. Everything else is missing. Only option I do have is forcing the notebook to shutdown by pressing power-button for a few sec. This does not happen all the time. Sometimes I'm able to boot/logon normally a few times in a row, sometimes I have to reboot very often just to finally get to the (non-blank) logon screen.
I've seen that there are already a few (old) threads on this topic in this forum, but none of them seemed to solve the problem I have. I don't want to be reinstalling all over again.
I've already tried to deactivate some services like Novell Client and fingerprint reader, which both interfere in the logon process. But nothing changed.
Booting from a Windows 7 DVD and using startup repair function hasn't changed anything either.
I had this pc working decently with Vista Ultimate x64, but wanted to bump it up to Windows 7 since the audio was poor and Media Center did not work well. I tried the upgrade through Windows route and this is when the issue began. The install went normally, but when i got to the screen for preparing for first use, it hung.
I have tried everything I know of, including using Active@ KillDisk to wipe the hard drive entirely. Whether I try a 32 bit or 64 bit copy of 7 Ultimate, it hangs at the same spot. I striped this machine down and have only a single DDR3 2GB memory stick in the mobo slot...
I keep getting a black screen after the Welcome screen for about 10-15 seconds and then the desktop appears. And sometimes it happens for a long time so I have to restart the PC. I haven't tried to fix it because I have no idea what to do.
on first install of windows 7 (and XP when I was using it) the comp ran fine booted in less than 30secs, but over the couple of weeks it just keeps getting slower and slower now it can take anywhere between 3-5min.
once it has booted to windows log on screen it takes all of a secound to load.
I built my and my brothers comps, there both using the same Mobo/CPU I have 4GB (he has 2GB) but his computer boots faster than mine.
no problems once the comp has started apart from certain settings wont save like where I leave my Icons on DT, and screens staying maximized.
would give boot log but cant remember how to get it...
my sis has a sony laptop with i3 processor its 2 years old, now it takes lots of time to start up . It is tuck at welcome screen for around 5 min. Then when it starts it is again stuck for searching network. it takes another 5 min.
win 7 keeps blue screen and rebooting. I have downloaded "who crashed" and it only reads 1 file in my dump from april. Well event viewer is LOADED with criticals.I tryed the spell check here, but it crashed. So sorry about the spelling people. My programs are dissapering, firefox is gone.
I just finished my first build about 3 months ago, and everytihng was nice and dandy until NOW I start getting the blue screen of death. It says something like error dxgmms1.sys driver_irql_not_less_than_or_equal. I did just some limited resarch on the net, and people are saying that I should try to update my drivers. I updated the video card driver, I`m pretty sure I got the latest motherboard bios, and W7 says no current updates available. Now the last time it happned to me I was watching a movie so I figured it might be the video card? But on the net people say I should run memtest. So i did and while it was running it killed again?. So is the RAM or the video card, how can I find out?

I was playing rFactor last night and all of a sudden, the screen just went crazy. Almost like your trying to watch TV with rabbit ears. The screen is all garbled, almost like it has been mirrored 6 times across the screen. I am in the process of saving stuff over(takes forever trying to read it) and am going to try a complete system reinstall.
It seems like the screen only works if I turn it on exactly at the same time as I turn on the computer. So i need to push both the screen power button and the computer power button at the same time.I am not sure, it just seems to work when I do it. What can cause this weird problem?
When I type for a certain amount of time my computer acts like it has clicked off the screen and makes a beeping sound everytime I press a key until I click back on the screen? How can I fix this problem when it clicks off the screen as I'm typing if I type too many words it turns off my wifi.
